how much do those cost for a decent one evl? i don't have one yet, nether thought it was a problem. i checked my other 2 plants that are double the resin, they are both good. I reckon it was that 72 hours of darkness. i haven't had the ac on in 4 days, so that had to raise it as well

Go on Craigslist, thats the cheapest you'll find them. They're a few Hun brand new. I paid $50 for a mine.

GD, i hope you dont have alot of mold.

while reading up on DIY odor removers i saw people using the silicon type cat litter and a down side to using it was it lowered your RH alot. i dont know for sure but RH is a concern of mine and it hit me this might be a cheap way to control humidity. thought id throw that out there.

My AC unit regulates the % of humidity pretty well...is this an option?
Not so DIY....but some of us have one "built in!" (Central Air)

yes sir, my ac regulates it. i was just hoping to save some money on my power bill during the winter.
i found some dehumidifiers on craigs list for $50, i guess ill try that.
ssh, whats this silicon cat litter you speak of? does it work better than regular kitty litter?

Heheh....I dunno if you are asking about the dehumey still or if this ? retains to cats...
BUT
I use this kitty litter called ProPet Fresh Results...and that shit is awesome!
It actually smells....decent....like pine trees.
No clay...no dust. They lick themselves clean, ya know?
WalMart.
Its funny cuz Im a dog-guy.
But then I got a Manx.
MAN are those some cool fucking cats.
Its like having a dog, thats more stealthy and analytical.

G

man ioni, we are on the same page for sure!
we got a cat like 6 months ago, ive never had one, always dogs. wifey had some in the past. i do like fucking with him, and he seems to like me the most. ill give that stuff a shot next. we got a dome litter box, and that seems to help.
ill look up a manx, i know jack squat about cats, hell i found out on here mine is half ocicat, so thats why he looks and acts wild sometimes.

OK...as a kat person I must speak up on behalf of the feline species over K-9s.

But please finish the thought about using Kat litter as a Odour filter....I am intrigued.

Howzitwerk?

Anytime an AC is cooling, it is also pulling moisture from the air. But, and I found out the hard way, when the AC shuts off the RH spikes. So even though I had a mini-split cooling the room, a dehuey was a must.
An AC won't run as much when the lights are off (no heat coming off the bulbs) and when it's cool outside, it's at those moments when a dehuey really shines.
And as a bounus, when I put the dehuey in the room, the heat it puts out when it runs would kick on the AC, and the running Ac would begin pulling moisture, causing the dehuey to shut off. Two appliances working together beautifully! The two together help keep my temps wherever I wanted them, at that 77 degrees 24/7, and the dehuey would only run for 5 minutes ever 30 minutes or so. That was until the garbage mini split took a shit on me...
Some folks have their grow room in that "sweet spot" and can get away without a dehuey, god bless them, but for the rest of us, Craigslist is your best and cheapest friend:stocking:

Indeed E, I am lucky to have a setup small enough to be controllable. I imagine larger setups would be more difficult, plus the RH just coming from sheer leaf surface area seems also to be a problem in larger setups.

Good Drown, she is a "rumpy"...no tail. Her sister Cynthia is a "stumpy"...a little furry stubb that pops up when shes interested...mini fuckin bobcats. Their grandmother was a mini cat as well so....I have a mini manx!
I never see bugs anymore, alive or dead! :)

....good kitty.

It was windy and raining like a mofo all night. I got blue skies right now but they're calling for more rain.
Most dehueys are noticeably loud. The get that compressor hum going.
Mine is a 45 pt and uses 5.7 amps. They use a lot of juice, even the energy star rated ones.

Toasted, can you counter sink your buckets & pots into the ground about 1/2 way to stabilize them and then use a tomato cage or hog fencing to circle the girls and use it to tie up the buds. just a thought from someone w/o any outdoor experience.

i couldnt find the thread about the kitty litter and odor control but in the post they were using Silica Gel Kitty Litter un-scented in place of activated carbon and i guess it also absorbs moisture, lowering RH.

ill keep looking for the thread but i dont know if it works.

this isnt the post i was referring to but here it is anyway.

damn, 5.5 amps, ouch. that blows, and the noise sucks also, but i can turn it off if needed. how often does it kick in, and for how long? do you know the RH without it? and what is your rh with it?
also, does it produce heat? i have central a/c, so nothing exclusive for my room.
how well does it work. if i put it outside the room, in a hallway do you think that would work?
