EVLME2: that was the most helpful advice on this thread. Because I was told by my hydroponics store that the Rapid Rooters don't need to be moistened at all besides the amount of water they absorb from spraying your clones daily. So your saying I need to keep them nearly saturated at all times or what?

Sorry if I misled some of you by the title, I'm sure plenty of you grow awesome buds with AN, they are a big name brand after all. Well actually I was meaning to slander them, because I called them several times and when I finally tracked someone down, they couldn't tell me anything at all helpful. So to hell with them and their expensive bullshit

I know a grow shop that refuses to carry AN. The owner says that it's just overpriced overhyped, run of the mill stuff. He feels like selling AN to his customers is stealing from them.

AN is not just run of the mill stuff. Just look at the NPK ratios. AN uses completely different ratios than most major brand, and those rations are specifically tailored to cannabis. Just check how much P is in most of your major brands like Botanicare, GH, and Fox Farms. It's totally unnecessary for cannabis and hurts flavor and can lead to toxicity and lockout of other nutes that are major problems for inexperienced growers. Also you don't have to ph AN, it's already ph'ed for cannabis. They are one of the only companies that openly promotes their product for use specifically with cannabis. Most other brands have frowned upon their nutes being used to grow cannabis.

My EC during flower with Iguana Juice is usually 1-1.5. That's using it at medium strength. They would have to be some heavy feeders to go higher than that. The nutes may be expensive but they last for a while as you don't have to use much.

Now here is some pie :pie:

I was only in agreement with your thread because I worked for them. I know where half their stuff is made. I know how its made. I know what is blatant rip offs of other products and i know what products are actually other products in new packaging. Look at the NPKs of all their bases aside from ig juice and Conny which are original. the calc doesnt work because of a million product revisions and only 5 calc revisions. In all honesty, I can do just as well with most of the + line as I can with Floranova bloom stand alone. Sensi AB is Superbloom A/B. not a copy... the identical product. AN 3 part is the exact NPK as GH FLora, HESI, Advanced Hydroponics and a few others that copied GH flora series. Why Copy a 35 year old formula???? because it works, its tweakable to provide more N or P and K when desired. I have posted my grows with AN and when It was free or when I used to have a warehouse full of it, I used the snot out of it. now that I quit working for these criminals, and dont distribute their product anymore. I passed the reigns to Biksa who is representing the product well. I wrote the catalog formulas in the o6 catalog and my 3 pages of notes are attached in the back. I was paid well to formulate a program that was practical for every medium and style of growing. AN tests everything in Soil and soiless mixes. I had to design a regiment for rockwool, DWC, Ebb & Flow, Aero, as well as NFT. I traveled to over 600 retailers from coast to coast to help retailers learn to grasp the formulas and why to stay off the calculator. with so many product revisions, and the same instructions, things got a little screwy over the years. with over 60 products in their line. I can use 6 and get the results I am looking for. I can also just use 1 part micro, 2 parts bloom and a little humics and fulvics to acheive the same weight & trich production. Add a little vermicrop and some hygrozyme and i am beating my old 6 part formula, which in turn beat the yield of my 10 part program.
as far as rapid rooters are concerned, I presoak my rooters in KLN, Superthrive, and hormex or vita grow (formerly woods) in a perfect environment. sometimes I add a little clonex to each hole with a dropper to seal the cut around the hole. many times I just take a clean nail and poke my own small hole to seal it up and stick it well. at 65%RH and 75f, I get 95-99% success in 4-10 days on most strains I work with. WHat the fuck is Kushie Kush???? what is a PH PPM perfect regiment and how many of you actually believe that? they watered down barricade and call it rhino skin, they changed sweetleaf to bud candy and its scorpion juice with carbs and "flavor enhancers" my pot tastes great without the salyctic acid and chitosan. Carbo load is good product to feed bennies if you use them (I don't) and it makes for a milder flush agent than most sugar based clearing agents. Big bud is OG and I like it. It pairs well with Overdrive. Ig juice I have no probelms w as an organic base. I used their 3 part many moons and now that GH is cheaper and has PH buffers I use it again, or DM Gold stand alone. GOld is what AN ultimately tried to copy and have had many inconsistant batches. remember the horrific scent they added when it first came out? WHY? P&T are lousy benes and contain 10% Nitrogen pellets from heavy harvest spring. I prefer mykes, Oregonism XL and great White. I also use Roots excelurator over Voodoo as it is not alive and carbs arent needed.
Rockford- what strain are you running? looks to be a super yielder like HP or NL, or a Big Bud. I bet I can pull the same results with City tap water and the right PH. I work with elite genetics and they just don't yield like generic strains. I'm about to set up my friends with WW and Floranova. as they want weight quality and potency simply.

Yeah, I keep them nearly saturated at all times until I see a root. It's ok if every now/again they get as dry as they are outta the bag, but in general I keep mine wet.
Also, I soak them in plain tap. I put them in a bowl of water and squeeze them under water, they bloat up quickly.
Wow, this thread got sidetracked quickly huh?:nono:

Rooting agents and rapid rooters are great but temp and moisture content are key.

A agree with DB, also. Just to add Rapid Rooters/Super Starter Plugs are the best to clone with. The secret is to keep them @ about 85% humidity at75/80f, while keeping the plugs MOIST not WET. (98/99% survival rate of 72):hide:

I dip my clones in EJ Rootstock cloning gel (make sure to make a little verticle cut on the bottom of the stem to encourage rooting). Then I always soak the Rapid Rooters in EJ Rootstock root hormone (w/water) then squeeze them till they stop dripping wet. I water every couple of days with more Rootstock. The clones are kept in a humidity dome and sprayed with a Rootstock hormone foliar mix once every day. Then I spray a couple of times a day with plain water to keep humidity up. I don't even monitor humidity and it works for me every time. :joint:

Thats a lot of maintenance just to get a cut to root. But if it works, rock on.

To everyone who proudly thought to "disprove" me by showing off their Advanced Nutrients crops, your all dumb asses, I wasn't talking shit about their nutrients... just their rooting gel!

Hmm, you're right. I must have just read the title and dove straight in.

Congrats! I used a bunch of he root juice when my buddy said his display was changing colors and didnt want to sell it. I rooted hundreds of cuts off those cheap little clear glue bottles. cheap packaging, expensive labels, and false advertising keeps them in business. Cannabis specific my ASS!

In yours and everyone else s defense that just dove straight in and assumed the title was self explanatory, the title is a touch misleading if it was only his intention to discredit the rooting gel and not the entire line of nutrients. Nevertheless it did provoke some interesting discussion so thanks!

haha yes provoking indeed. My fault, but it did succeed in getting everyone's attention. The original title was "Advanced Nutrients Sucks my Nuts off", which would have gathered even better conversation no doubt.

So how hard do you squeeze out the rapid rooters after saturating them? Like gently, or a real good squeeze?

Agrow, I thought you were hating your results w AN, my bad. as far as rapid rooters, I use the clonex root riot plugs for the smaller hole. I leave mine pretty wet. I actually squeeze them in the solution to saturate them. this way I don't really have to touch them until 8-10 days except for spraying down the dome. which I actually spray with bloom booster! PK bust roots hard! I use hardly any N while rooting. I find some strains need food the minute a root pops so sometimes I mix up light lucas formula w b-vits, hygro, and roots excelurator w some calmg+ in my innitial solution, but not always. depends on the strain and quality of cuts. sometimes I cut off some beat moms but I'll get most to root. environment is really everything. I can also say that the faster you can get clones to dry out, the faster they will root and the less casualties will occur. in the desert, I had to really soak stuff, and keep the dome sealed shut and sprayed, by the beach clones didnt really need anything but a little light. humidity was perfect on the coast in mendo and venice coast. in the city, I used a dome that I sprayed 1x and left on for 3 days and then removed and squeezed a lot of water out the plugs. I would have roots in less than 48 hours on 1 or 2 in the tray. sometimes I used clone gel if I had it, sometimes I would just give em lucas and bloom booster w superthrive and they would bust. Rockwool needs to be PH adjusted and sometimes even leached with clearex or rockwool conditioner to remove the lime out which will make the PH creep. they also need to be drained to near dry by stacking them. fastest roots ever for me but I lose a few more than I do with rooters or Aero. It seems you cant drain rw starters as consistently. I got a basil cut to root in a clear ez clone display in my shop overnight. I like my PH a bit high in substrate 6.2-6.5. I get my best results and healthiest cuts at higher PH. hope that helps.

blah blah. just trying to help. I think after working there and growing with the stuff, as well as retailing it, I am pretty qualified to make those statements. what are you growing? what strains? post up a pic. let e see what AN is doin for ya. peas

I can vouch for TooHigh.
He has the skill and experience to backup what He says.
I've known TooHigh for years and was/is the man to talk to if you have any questions about AN products, especially since they shit canned Medibud and Darkone.

Peace..

Im growing different strains, all with the same feeding regimen, La Confidential, Red Cherry Berry, and LSD .. I will try my best to get pictures up as soon as possible, they are at 25 days, currently lights off until 8:30 pm holland time .. I have several personal matters that i have to deal with this eveining, but soon i'll give you some pics, hopefully tonight.
Later
p.s. - was just a little too much hoopla over one company, when in a lot of aspects all the companys do that the same, one company makes this and the other that and they copy and try to make it better, i hope your not only comparing products through NPK?? .. dont they use superiour ingredients in their products or is that also BS??
