Im looking to buy a known well yielder.. i know with seeds its a crapshoot, but when buying a pack of seeds, which strain has the highest probability or most potential of giving off the most potent out of these, and other known heavy yielders?

everyone says chronic is a good yielder and potent, but most of the peeps have said they would go with ak47 from serious over their chronic..

shiva skunk ( nl#5xsk#1 ) like Trillion recommended is something most commercial growers in canada grow ( and many variations ) it's cheap here and while I find the high short lived and not very pleasant, it has a very prominent presence, it'll leave you feeling retarded for a while after the initial high has worn off.

I hate it to be honest but once in a while when you feel like getting wrecked and braindead it hits the spot.

I have grown a 3-way hybrid with ak47 in it and it was the dominate one that showed through. I liked it alot, very strong nice heavy buzz. I am currently growing out chronic, so I will be able to give a bit better opinion of the two. So far my mix with AK47 is actually yielding more side by side and also finishing faster but we shall see how the smoke turns out in a few weeks! I will tell you this much I did allot of research as to which commercial strain to get that was considered strong and I went with chronic.

The rhino I did took 8+ weeks but could have finished faster. I have used the rhino in a few of my crosses as well. I think with those that are presumed big yielders you are pretty much giving up either quality (bag appeal) or high (duration and type).

I don't think the rhino I had was the largest yielder but was damn potent and worth crossing to a few sat dom plants I had. I agree decent hybrids in the 9-10 week finishing window can and do yield damn well.

If you are just after a cash crop I would just grow those you posted and just let them go a bit longer than usual for that stoney stone appeal that most who would buy "cash cropper strains" are usually into.

Most with a pot pallet don't jump on the criticals and mass this or that because they know the high itself will be less than primo strains. Cash crop strains are perfect for what they are meant to be for.

If you are wondering about getting the big yield WITH quality than either go with crosses of the above OR make your own pollen chucker style.

If you are to get the rhino go with mr nice on the genetics to get the most quality possible. If you are gunna go after cheaper cash crop strains than you can't go wrong with some nirvana cheap packs and run em til their done.

good posts.. i would like to extend the question to potent, killer strains that yield well.. not just the top dog yielders.

Why grow average herb?

Grow summtim people would wet themselvs to get,

All the wana-be's will trade you - then you have both.
That is,,,, IF you want to go slummin with the commercial green.

good posts.. i would like to extend the question to potent, killer strains that yield well.. not just the top dog yielders.

From what I see - really good plants, just don't make bud like the cash-croppin strains.
And while I try to stay away from commercial grade anything,,,, that's prolly why they call it cash-croppin.

My Strawberry Diesel yeilds less than 1/4 to maybe 1/3 the weight a good Skush will. And the AK-47 I see in clone form - yeild well, but the bud is -lacking - it's not bad, just not what I (Capitol I ) like. - if's the "AK at the party" - not the "Fookin AK GONZO WEED that old dude had, at the party" - ya know,, good but not really memorable.

If I ever want to grow Big-Bud or NL, or Blueberry - I can.

Grow what ya like - and it's not like your married to any strain.

FWIW- My first store bought beans were Gypsy's B-52 - learned how to grow - clone, run perpetual - - and grew enough bud for me and a friend or two for a couple years. Also learned what a hermi trait is, wasn't bad - a few seeds in an ounce, but the plant was forgiving and pretty durable - which is important if your not a natural born gardener - cause it's harder for some of us.

Speaking of Gypsy's gear - I have a couple of his freebie skunks that look to have promise - I'll get ya a pix of the one in flush now - but sh'e flying past 8 weeks and looking like11 or 12 weeks is what she wants.

Growin pot is like a box o chocolets - ya just don't know what yer goina get till ya grow her out. RMH

A friend grew out a whole pack of serious seeds chronic along with soma nycd, powerplant and TFD's the pure, chronic was by far the worst of the bunch both in potency and taste. Not a single saving grace save yield. Garbage.

I've smoked many samples of shiva and have to disagree with burning fire, its very nice indeed, heavy skunk/earthy taste with citrus overtones, very relaxing on muscles, highly medicating with happy euphoric head buzz, maybe the shiva you have had was made with a different NL because anything crossed with NL#5 produces stunning results all around.

Personally I dont grow for yield so have no experience with either strain but I'm sure shiva will find her way into my tent at some point ;)

Pisses on AK47 & Rhino aswell. I find rhino too leafy and the stone too lethargic but some phenos have a nice fruity taste. AK47 is nice and potent good yield but nowhere near the connosieur quality of shiva.

I havent had the pleasure of trying DSD but have a pack waiting to be popped, Please do not underestimate the quality of NL#5, just because NL is a common name chucked around a lot, Im sure the DSD is nice but I cant even begin to say how many strains out there are based on NL#5, and if you're looking for yield and quality trust me shiva skunk is the way to go.

And as medmaker said go MNS if after rhino dont bother with GHS.
For shiva i recommend sensi for the original or Dr Atomic

I always wonder how people find a good Big Bud pheno? I have now grown over 400 Big Bud plants and Purple Urkel x Big Bud crosses and they all smell like hay, taste like the smell of wet grass and barely get you buzzing (no where near high).

If I have grown out over 400 of these it makes me wonder is there truly a keeper in Big Bud? Do I have to grow out a 1,000 or more to find a keeper.

They do get big though, although not as dense when dry as some other strains but yeah the top cola "look" huge when growing.

I have like 1,000 Big Bud and Big Bud cross beans left. Maybe I will find a good cross for them later in life.

Sensi Star usually has a pretty good yield if vegged long enough, and its a killer potent high... very nice mix of an indica high that can still send you to the moon like a good sativa

reservationlabs ive never tasted it but theres a pic in the budshot forum and it looks dank

In all honesty, you are not missing anything in not having tasted it. You have saved the pallet from the taste of wet grass on a rainy day. Seriously it will mess up your taste buds for like half the day and make the rest of your joints that half day taste bad.
