HB1391

Hey keystoners

I just spent the last hour reading about HB1393 - the PA medical maryjane bill and emailing all my legislators to ask them to help support it. I am sure very little will come of this, but i feel like it was an hour well spent for something i care so much about. Maybe if more of us do the same thing, we can make a difference.

Here's the text for the bill:
http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/billinfo/billinfo.cfm?syear=2009&sind=0&body=H&type=B&BN=1393

You can use the box in the top right to find who represents you and then email away! :joint:

Can't hurt to try. Though I think realistically speaking we are far away from the promised land here in PA.

yes i cannabis.

From HB 1319:
Section 3. Definitions.

The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
context clearly indicates otherwise:

....

"Debilitating medical condition." This term includes any of
the following:
(1) cancer, glaucoma, positive status for human
immunodeficiency virus, acquired immune deficiency syndrome
or the treatment of these conditions;
(2) a chronic or debilitating disease or medical
condition or its treatment that produces one or more of the
following: cachexia or wasting syndrome; severe or chronic
pain; severe nausea; seizures, including, but not limited to,
those characteristic of epilepsy; severe and persistent
muscle spasms, including, but not limited to, those
characteristic of multiple sclerosis or Crohn's disease; or
(3) any other weakening medical condition or its
treatment that is recognized by licensed medical authorities
as being treatable with marijuana in a manner that is
superior to treatment without marijuana.

Any idea what part (3) would include?
Every time I see these uber-restrictive medical allowances (it's a lot of the same language in different states), to me it just reinforces what a loaf of balogneey it all is. "Oh you can't use this unless you're dying of AIDS or Cancer or something". Whatever.
