Your Children and Cannabis

I have much more of a moral problem with lying to, or deceiving my children--
Over 10, there is no way they don't know if you smoke...and why would you smoke, if you thought it so heinous as to be a threat to your children??
Using drugs of any kind, I believe has everything to do with your individual brain chemistry-- Some will like some things, others won't--
I don't believe we have as much influence on our kids as we like to think--
I had very normal, straight laced parents...but I ended up a heroin addict...go figure-- I am the Stoner from Hell...and my 21 year old daughter, tho she supports ppls right to use it...has never smoked weed, nor does she have any desire to-- My son, who grew up with straight laced ppl (not my choice) is also...a Stoner from Hell--
My 11 year old daughter...now that one I have to keep an eye on...she is way too much like me...:yoinks:

I think we all have an effect just sometimes parents have the reverse affect to intended by not understanding kids enough like how straight laced parents is a bit like prohibition IMO. You gots to be open and explain! The amount of peeps I know who are right fuck ups now who had the scariest parents! Mine are pretty liberal with my Mum being the most liberal and I have been allowed to do most thing with importance on being happy, if im being self destructive im not being happy and with being allowed to do tings i don't feel a need to rebel. Of course I've still made mistakes but I'm pretty happy with how I am, and the values I hold high!

My mum also drank and smoke and that left me hating ciggs till 8-11 when I dabbled then gave up realising it was for kids and fools only to start again at about 24 when I couldn't smoke week but a few years later knocked that on the had :) I hate ciggs now even though i do mix a lil :) Me and alchohol had a lot of fun over the years but now I just like the one or a slow drink the sort that only just about gets you warm :)

@Sorcival: That's just the sort of thing I'm going for but maybe some smoking in open house when the yoot is upstairs. I'm thinking about RVK strapped to a small can filter that we can stick in front of us to catch a lot of the vapours incase we have a "I can't sleep" situattion ;) I will be explaining when the time is right tho, there is much I want to pass on about babylon and this world so they don't have the troubles that I had and see that what society pushes you to do and be is not always right, just keep educating yourself, ensure you can provide for yourself and fam and be good to others is my mantra :)

@danimal7: I love your views man! I will be choosing a special word today, it's all quite exciting, I like creating slang! :) I think your right about the harsh ones not having kids, perhaps they can't get it up ;)

@Lil 'o Me: Cheers I shall have a read of these!

Thanks to you all for bringing back the positivity to my thread :)

@alaskan: Yeah always happy me and now happier even more! :) 14-15! dayumn I should be alright for a while yet then! I guess I could clean it out one time and fill it full of crap to hide the power and partitions so it looks like a junk room, I was thinking throw a few power tools in there then I have a good reason for the 'stay out' ruling :) I'd need to juggle a bit tho as I have moms here but I could always black bag them and stick them in the shed for a bit ;)

tryin to hide it from 16 yr olds in the house w/ a grow.. you may as well have a full time cop in there!

@MoldyFrogToe: I've had a few round who haven't noticed it but it did help they reaked enough of ganj themselves to cover any smells ;) I've had a police in the house before too without issue but they probably saw how I looked and blamed any smell on my personal choice to smoke, although I did air out before hand :) We are lucky we get a lot of big scale stuff here so the hobbyists, medical peeps and spiritualists are mostly all left be :)

so you'll be hiding in your spot (smoking) and the kids will be in there hiding spot smoking...and they will have something new and exciting in there life (pot) and it will be exciting , mostly because they've always been told to keep away from it, but also cause there is a lot of thrill in the hunt and hide and the experimentation .

havent we all see the control freak moms that have the kids on way to short a leash, and later see the rebellions unfolding.

@danimal7: Nah not for me gotta educate once the time is right :) They will need to find other secrets like their sexuality ;)

I do not really want the kid to smoke before 16. I didn't until 17 and had access before but chose not to and am glad for it as I think it helped with GCSEs and college until I matured. I want to keep it up to a certain age as just another plant, not naming it to improve security. I will tell them they are cigarettes and they are for adults and when they get to be one they can make the choice.

LOL, you don't have an option as to when he will start to smoke, and saying they are cigarrettes? Not my choice. I just tell them the truth, it's medicine, it's for adults, and I have a doctor reccomendation.....the truth is best, your children will respect you more when they are adults.

@Moldy Dreads: I have to be mindful of security so I will have to educate them as they grow on this matter but think I'm going to let them know it's not cigarettes but more a smokey stuff type of thing, sadly to say it was a doctors recommendation would be a lie, our docs are not permitted to be that cool, I'm self prescribed just like the saline solution I stick up my nose daily is self prescribed. I am going to tell them why it is not for children and what it does but I will refer to it by a neutral name and tell them one day they can try a bit with me and make up their own minds just the same as with alchohol and cigarettes. Being a rastafarian and explaining that to them will problem help with their understanding tho. Lets just hope we don't get the "My Dad's a rasta and smokes that stuff" lol

I'm so glad most the public think that rastas have the right to smoke legally here, only seen one caught case try it and get off and that was a technicality with the defence lawyer possibly being bias casuing the case to be thrown out by the judge.

Very cool response and thanks for the rep, you will make a great dad! I'll get you back when I can rep again in 24 hrs. Best of luck, your kids will always bringh you blessings.

If your growing weed for your own use and you dont smoke it around your kids then you could say thats alot better than to having children running around a methlab or helping daddy crush up the cold and flu tablets.

@Moldy Dreads: Cheers for the kind words man :) The blessings are already coming, it's a real nice change to life :)

@DrGreenThumb@OZ: Damn straight man! and i'm not coming in from a night out to then spend the next day with my kids recovering from amphetamines either :) Strictly personal here, I'd be mad not to be, weed is hardly ever as good as mine here and expensive! Sadly there is a lot of street dealing here so kids are gonna see a lot of that life from very young :( Wouldn't mind if it was weed but most of it isn't.
