Interesting slate of games this past week.
Big upsets of AFC North powers Pittsburgh and Cincinnati by KC and Oakland, respectively. Any given Sunday, indeed.
The Packers are playing well, living up to preseason expectations. Dallas eked out a win in a defensive struggle with the 'Skins. The G-men got back into the win column, finally. Denver looks nothing like the team that started 6-0. Can they get back on track? The Bears, well, Cutler didn't lose the game for them this time at least. The one INT he did have was on a tipped pass on the last desperation drive of the game, so it wasn't all bad for him, but he constantly overthrew open receivers during the game, perhaps trying too hard not to make a mistake. Hopefully he'll learn.
The Saints looked good, but you would expect that in a game against a one-win team. Big big test for them next Monday night vs. the Pats, should be a good barometer of how well they match up with an elite AFC team.
Even the Browns and Lions made for a good game, and both showed more offense than they had all year. Hopefully both franchises can build upon this and put up similar performances against good teams, not just bad ones. Stafford showed a lot of guts going out there with a separated shoulder.
Speaking of #1 overall quarterbacks, it looks like Jamarcus is going to ride the bench the rest of the year if Gradkowski can keep leading this team to wins. Hopefully Jamarcus learns and matures on the sideline and can come back next year strong, like Vince Young.
Bud Adams, the owner of the Titans, was hit with a quarter-million dollar fine for twice giving the middle finger to Bills fans. I thought the dude must have been drunk at the time, but looking at him during MNF last night, he looks rather senile; he's got that wild-eyed old man stare that makes you think he's not all there. Or he's high as a kite on 10 different meds. Hopefully he doesn't do anything to further embarrass himself, not when his team is playing pretty good football after a nightmare 0-6 start.
3 Thanksgiving Day games this year, to satisfy your football fix: Packers-Lions, Raiders-Cowboys, and Giants-Broncos.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

enough with the football....

Green Bay, after giving Tampa Bay its only win of the season, has turned it around and is playing pretty good football. I fear that they'll give the Bears another loss when they meet up again later this year.

EvilRaven: ah, a Chicago Blackhawks fan. I'm not much of a hockey fan myself, but I have friends who live and breathe Blackhawks hockey, especially now that the elder Wirtz is gone and they have a good team again...

BigD: A Saints and an Auburn Tigers fan? Thought you were an LSU Tigers fan. I guess the Saints, being the only team in the deep South, must have fans all over that area, including Alabama. Auburn gave the Tide all it could handle and then some. I guess Gene Chizik wasnt that bad of a hire after all. Malzahn really got that offense moving at times. Now they just need to get that D back to where it was; can't win in the SEC without an elite defense...
I'm interested in watching the SEC championship next Saturday, it's round 1 of the national championship game (#1 vs #2, winner meets Texas in the BCS championship).

A full slate of games today. Minny hosts Chicago this afternoon; my Bears might be down 28-0 at halftime. :violin:
Big game tomorrow: Pats at Saints, should be a good one.

Big Willie D is an LSU TIGER Fan.... and we LSU fans have a deep seeded hatred for all things bama. Once LSU is out of it (Nat. Champ)...we'll pull for any team that has a chance to beat the tide!....lol.

I hope the FLORIDA GATORS beat the holy shit out of alabama.....cmon Tebow!!

Like Big D said.....FUCK Alabama :D

Nope, sorry BRNY. I AM in fact an AUBURN TIGERS fan. I am from Alabama originally. Bababooey you are correct, Saints fans all over the south. I went to my first Saints game when I was 8 :D

Big game tomorrow: Pats at Saints, should be a good one.

Its like a dream, this game being so BIG! They are gonna have huge ratings. It will take the Saints best game to win and I am certain they are up for the task :D

big test for the saints to see if they can actually be a legit super bowl contender,If they win or lose close I think they'll have as good as a chance as the other playoff teams.

I think that everyone knows the Saints are a legitimate contender... win or lose this game, thats not going to change that. They need to win this game tho for historical reasons.

I got give it up to the saints I thought they would lose in a close battle but they plain old kick their asses!!!!! wow even better I was losing my fantasy game until colston scored that last TD to put me over the top, which means I just secured a playoff spot and a chance to win $2,000. Even better I hate the Pats cause I went to school filled with a million pats fans that were just so obnoxious during the dynasty run it made me want to puke.

WHO DAT????

"Hey Bill, you feeling ok? You don't look so good..."

Good game by the Saints. Dominating performance. Still a long road ahead, with the Vikings as a probably NFC championship matchup. But if they play like that, they're unbeatable.

My Bears looked helpless against the Vikes, Gr8shoe's 49er's got a win (Singletary listened to his players and threw it around more), the Titans look rejuvenated, and the playoff picture is starting to come into focus.
God I love football....
