Iv'e fount that the mosquito dunks don't work at eliminating them just at holding gnats back. Probably because of low BTI concentration.

Interesting, I wanted to know the difference in mosquito dunk to gnatrol, what is better and cheaper..

some more info on BTi

mosquito dunks here , I notice there using strain : BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS SUBSP. ISRAELENSIS SEROTYPE H-14
gnatrol here , I notice there using strain: Bacillus thuringiensis, subsp. Israelensis, strain AM 65-52

more diggin, company who own gnatrol also makes what mosquito dunk comapny makes, (Bt/H-14) , I have no clue what is more powerful but you get 4 ounces ( 113 grams ) , and gnatrol is 60 grams for a couple bucks more , check here

I guess looking into it more, gnatrol and mosquito dunks cannot be compared, different strains??? more info on gnatrol also

maybe also because its(bi) rather passive, i.e. the larvae must ingest the bacterium...solution? NEMATODES!! They enter the gnat larvae and eat them from the inside out, now thats what I call passive aggression that works!:yoinks:

I know for a fact cinnamon sprinkled on top helps with damping off. Cinnamon has natural fungicide properties and fungus gnats (among other insects) IME can be controlled with the help of cinnamon.
Another control method is letting a container sit in your grow room filled with soapy water, I have seen many gnats drown with this method.
I use neem spray as a prevention method along with cinnamon and chamomile for my indoor plants. Letting the top soil dry out some helps along with not over watering, perlite, sand or other porous media can be used as a top mulch.
I use my own home made EWC & compost witch is located outdoors and even after a week or longer cure I still get some gnats in the grow.
With prevention methods you can not only control the gnats but eradicate them with time. BTI should work well but IMHO a diverse arsenal of pest management can keep any pest population down, even in indoor grows. Do what works best but be diverse and safe with prevention or eradicating pest..:joint:

Active ingredients: 33% cedar oil, 1% sodium lauryl sulfate

All I know is the stuff works.

i must have super genetically enhanced fungal gnats cuz the shit did nothing for me but make everything smell like cedar. i use soil and watered my plants with it and even made a foilar spray... didn't work :(

Azamax or Azatrol, two treatments and done!

Gotta agree with Holmes Slice...tried a lil bit of Azamax a week or two ago and it drastically reduced the numbers in one treatment....after the second one they are pretty much gone! Great stuff and doesn't smell bad at all
