Actually, in this forum there are many knowledgeable people living in Cali and doing a lot for the cause who can offer great advice and comments.

Now I don't remember any part of 215 saying one had to be a California Citizen. I always thought if someone vists California they can get medical treatment in California. After all many people seek treatment for cancer in California from all around the world.
If Cannabis helps with an illness I'm sure that dr's note and a passport would work fine.

I don't understand why you used my quote? I was trying to be nice about the daily posters in this forum....

(A) To ensure that seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where that medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person's health would benefit from the use of marijuana in the treatment of cancer, anorexia, AIDS, chronic pain, spasticity, glaucoma, arthritis, migraine, or any other illness for which marijuana provides relief.

Most of you would be surprise hoW many foreigners (and kids ~20) are running some serious game in Cali.

Russians in LA, Chinese in the bay, Laotians in norcal, and mexicans all over.

But very few of them come here alone, or grow solo.

oh and btw since we are talking about drivers license and paving the streets of Cali with gold.

If you park that car wrong, expect it to be towed within seconds and pay 400 dollars to get it back.

if you get a simple ticket and dont pay it....they take your car away..

Actually you are wrong on both--
If your car gets towed, unless you leave it in impound for days...it is usually $150 to get it out, and they add another $50 per day for each day you leave it there--
And as far as them taking your car for unpaid tickets...total BS-- They may suspend your DL, or not let you register your car....but they do not take it--

They have a whole TV series based on them booting your car and then towing them because of unpaid parking tickets. It is called "Parking Wars" or something like that. Different cities in California have different policies, which they may change at a drop of a hat. It may take one unpaid parking ticket to have your car towed in one jurisdiction and 2,3,4 or any number of tickets to have the car towed in another.

Most Southern California cities boot your car after 5 unpaid tickets and then tow it.

:gday: I'm currently living in Australia and looking to move to Cali to grow medically
as a caregiver and patient, do I have to become a US citizen to do so? Or can
I keep my Australian citizenship and just get a permanent work visa? (I have a job and
place lined up already) Because according to the Medical Marijuana
Application/Renewal form (copied and pasted below) all they want to see is a photo ID and a utility bill or
rent/mortgage receipt from my residency in Cali. Would an aussie photo ID and a
utility bill or rent/mortgage receipt from my spot in Cali be enough to get a MMJ license then?

INSTRUCTIONS:
You must complete the Application/Renewal form (CDPH 9042) and provide the following information in order to receive an identification card. Submit both the CDPH 9042 and the following information to your county health department (or its designee).
1. Provide a government-issued photo identification card (such as a driver's license) issued to you. If you are under the age of 18 and lack photographic identification, you may substitute a certified copy of your birth certificate in place of the photo identification. If you designate a primary caregiver on your application form, your primary caregiver must present photographic identification at the same time you submit your application. A primary caregiver may use a certified birth certificate if they are under the age of 18 and lack government-issued photo identification.

2. Provide proof of your county residency with one of the following items:
    • A current rent/mortgage receipt or recent utility bill in your name bearing your current address within the county;
    • A current California motor vehicle registration in your name bearing your current address within the county; or
    • A California Driver's License or a California Identification Card issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) with your current address within the county listed.

I know this thread stopped a while ago but I'm still hoping to get a response. Guess I'll just wait and see :joint:

Contrary to what others have posted, yes, if you have a Rental Agreement, or Utility Bill in your name with a Cali address...you can use your ID from "Anywhere" else...and get a Rec--:tiphat:
