I can't believe that Sleepy edited my post for "flaming".

There is no logical or rational way to describe what you edited out as a "flame".

LEDgirl obviously didn't think it was a flame, look at her response, she took it seriously.

Is there a problem because I quoted from LEDGirl's website directly?

Take a look at my posting history, everything I do is quite serious. I'm not here to waste time or to fuck around.

LED lights are not like HID where there is only a slight difference between bulbs. You could build two LED units that look identical but have very different light spectrum outputs. So are you saying this comparison you have been watching is with one of LEDGirls units?

LEDGirl, it appears that you've been able to achieve top-to-bottom dense growth that is at least in-line with that which I've only ever seen before in vertical HID grows. Very impressive.

Nice plants! I couldn't imagine having that many panels though, if each is the equivalent to my 400w MH/HPS that would be some absolute monstrous heat and a huge power bill, but i'd still imagine the results would be extremely comparable of not exceeding. Perhaps this is the future for 'green' growers though, no pun intended. Big savings on power!

I'm just not ready to convert just yet though, the lumens scare me a bit, but i definitely am following this thread and the other test grows to see how it goes! cheers

LED's put out very little heat, so my 1512W room doesn't go past 90 degrees (usually around 85). Also, 1512W isn't a huge power bill. Not sure if I misunderstood what you were saying or not, but thought I'd throw that out there. If you did the same thing with 400W HPS lights, you'd certainly have the issues you described, so maybe that's what you meant?

Anyhow, lumens are a measurement of brightness for humans. A lot of people have the misconception that a HPS is better for flowering than a MH because it has more lumens, but in all reality the MH has more PAR watts. Either way though, a 400W HID only puts out from 120-140 PAR watts...
