Looks good, but I have to ask, why would your friend keep a mother more than one year and not re-clone her. From what i understand the genetics get old, the strongest genetics come from a younger moms?

I dont think the DNA structure actually changes at all as the mom gets older. You could have the same mom for 50 years and I bet it would be the same the entire time. You may have to rejuvenate it with new soil and cutting the roots etc...

every two months knock off some roots and re pot with new soil.. makes for everlasting moms..

nice plants man.. I got some Jack going myself.

Im thinking the strain , or that particlar "pheno" has been alive for 10 yrs, i am doubting that he meant the actual same plant has been a mom for 10 yrs. I mean i am growing a strain i have had for 13 yrs now, but its not hte same mom since i started it

You can keep the original :mom: for up to 25 years or longer...just a lot of variables. Most people keep taking cuts of their "mom" plants to make new "mom" plants just in case something happens to the original "mom" plant.

As far I know you can keep a mum for X ammount of years ;) From what I've been told if you take the cuts from the mum you will be fine but it's if you take a cut then take a cut from that one and then another one from the next one and keep doing it repeatedly your plants will loose vigor and yeild and potency will decrease over the generations ;) If any of this info is innacurate please let me know :)

Yep you just have to give a root trim and some new soil/compost :)

Yo 'nuggler thanks for lookin' in.

This pheno is a nice 9 week pheno, she smeels citrusy/sweet and she does foxtail a bit :)

Here are a couple of pic's of the same pheno that my mate grew out, please note that these are NOT my pic's, obviously I'm not expecting a yeild like his because we have completely different equipment but I am hoping for at least an oz from each plant.

Right, been away for a while so here's an update, they are at 8 weeks of flower now :) I was told I have a mg defficiency so I'm going to adjust the ph accordingly, ec is at 1.2 and I might up this to 1.4 - 1.5 we'll see how it goes.

More pics to follow later or tommorow,

Peace and smoke all.

It's only inaccurate because people don't include all the information.

If you use a great cut from the mum.... it's the exact same plant with new roots.

If you use a crappy cut from the mum.... there is the possibility of impacting the genetics and yes.... you can lose vigor, yield and potency that way.

Always remember that a cutting is NOT a 'Copy'.... it is the exact same plant with newly sprouted roots.

Ya man you don't lose potency due to cloning, or any genetic traits.

Yep :)
