I am sure "some" would consider this not organic

But I use pro mix HP, I add some worm castings and dolomite lime

Works great. I pay about 15 to 20 for 118L of promix

well maybe you know how the Promix compares to sunshine mix? because i know where i can get that not really ever seen promi=x

I just use the cheapest organic soil available like "scotts or MG" then add perlite and Im ready to go for under 20 bucks. I also soak the soil before anything is planted with a mild nute water solution high in nitrogen. Thats if you want to be cheap peace.

Pretty much the same, although sunshine #4 already has lime in it, also gypsum, helps with cal mag issues witch are pretty notorious with pro mix

Thus I add lime

Pro mix also contains Mycorrhiza, which basically is a soil fungus, that is supposed to help with nutrient uptake and healthy roots

For the record... The only reason ProMix is not 100% organic is because it contains a wetting agent... soap.
That's right, just a tiny bit of plain old soap. Tide laundry detergent to be exact. Tide is pure soap.
And a small synthetic nute charge. Both of which will be completely gone by the time you water the soil mix a couple of times.
Some people take this "ORGANIC" thing a bit too far IMO.

Hi Reyes,

I don't know personally since i haven't grown in over 20 years, but
there is a great sounding recipe in the new high times. The guy is supposed
to be a bigtime grower and all. He says he doesn't use any nutrients,
just this super soil.

Sta-Green Tree and Shrub Nursery Mix from Lowes. It's super cheap, and every plant you grow in it does very well :joint:

I used a similar mix from calloway's nursery on one plant recently and it worked great. Didn't even have to add perlite. It had just a tiny bit of nutes so I added blood and bone meal on the first repot at 2 weeks and watered with molasses and tap water at every watering and went all the way to the finish without a deficiency.

I make my own soil mix. I use 5 gallons each: coir (screened), peat moss, organic compost, perlite and mix in one cup each: blood meal, lime, azomite (for my bloom mix I use fish bone meal instead of blood meal). I mix all these in a rubber tub adding one gallon wetting agent gradually as I mix. I try to leave it set for three weeks before I use it. I do a perpetual grow so I'm contstantly mixing or aging soil

I'm using MG organic with dolomite lime added. Now that I can get bunny poop for free I'm going to add that to the mix as well at 10% ratio and then feed bunny poop teas and fish/seaweed as well with a touch of molasses.

I use Roots Organic. Costly but it's all in there, so i think it is worth it.

"A truly exceptional ready-to-use coco fiber-based potting soil. We begin with a base of the highest quality coco fiber/Coir on the planet which is repeatedly washed for an incredibly low EC, and composted for over twenty-four months, and is specially blended with extra long fibers. This soil is amended with only the highest quality organic ingredients including bat guano, premium earth worm castings, fish bone meal, feather meal, green sand, mycorrihzae, glacial rock dust, soybean meal, humic acid, and many more. Already blended with correct proportions of perlite and pumice for excellent drainage and a vigorous root system, Roots Organics potting soil encourages healthier plants and better yields."

I use Black Gold with added EWC, perlite & dolimite lime. I also add some dried sea weed, and high N dried bat poop. In flower I feed a high P guano mixture in either tea form or a topdressing, and I reuse the soil after harvest.

Sunshine Mix #4 is available in an organic version. i believe they use an organic wetting agent and therefore its classified organic.

but then of course you either have to add amendments or use organic liquid nutes or both

that's a lot of amendments for a mix. Does that stuff allow you to use plain water though out the grow? Or do you still use a nute mix on top of that?
