lol, well it didn't mean shoot him per-say but you get the point. let's face it if you should happen to get busted or robbed the first thing that flashes in your head is that list. you know, the who knew or who did I tell list. trust me the last thing you want is to be on someone's "who knew list".
My cousin grows as well. He was the one who taught me all about growing. One day we're riding around in his car and he's telling me about how one of his grows is doing. As soon as he even starts to form the sentence " I think they should be about done x amount of time" I cut him off real quick and was like "look dude the last thing I need is to be on that damn list of who knew when it would be done." sure as shit the day before it was to come down it got ripped. Guess what? I wasn't on his little short list. My point is for god's sake mind your own business and try not to wind up on anyone's short list because you never know what that person may do to you if he thinks you were the rat or thief. Let the guys be and you do you.

I had a grow going in my younger days about 4k at my house had been going for several years with no issues. Thought I was really rockin and rolling..... haha
My next door neighbor died from old age and they sold the house. After selling the house it didn't go up for rent and some younger guys started coming and going real discreetly only pretty much using the garage to go in and out.
They also didi a bunch of electrical work after moving in. So naturally im suspicious but I mind my own business if you don't bother me I won't bother you ya know...
Anyhow several years go by I hardly ever see these guys when I do they wave politely, but I'm fairly sure they don't actually live there
so I start smelling bud around my house every once awhile and when I go to my backyard near their house I can kinda hear a fan... Thought it was my grow for a long time got me all paranoid... at the same time I'm kinda thinking wtf? are these guys growing? I also notice that at night the power pole in front of my house is humming like a motherfucker compared to other ones in the neighborhood. I tell my friends I think my neighbor is growing and they all laugh cuz they know about my grow and say I'm just paranoid thinking too much.
Anyhow to make a long story short I end up moving out and renting the house out to some really close friends of mine. About 6 months after I move out my friends call me and tell me the house next door was a fully gutted grow house! The neighbors broke it down due to security issues [big ecstasty bust] within their own group. One of the guys became good friends with my buddy who rents out my old house. He took him in showed him how it was gutted everything even gave him a bunch of the old equipment cuz they were done with it.
THEY WERE STEALING POWER AND RUNNING 20K WATTS RIGHT NEXT TO ME THE WHOLE TIME! I suspected but wasn't sure. I gotta hand it to them they pulled it off pretty good. I'm glad I got out of there when I did though imagine them investigating that house and then my lil setup next door getting all caught up in it. I wouldn't want to be in that situation again.
It's funny now they are trying to short sell the place and it's totally gutted water damaged fucked up inside. These guys knocked down all the walls practically nuts.

O yah piece of advice if you really don't like it MOVE! I would not mess with them man. The guys that were next to my house meant business and I'm pretty sure they were gang affiliated. From what my friends tell me about these guys now they have a network and don't just grow you know lots of other illegal shit going on with them too.

sneak i never said you shouldnt do anything or ignore anything mabey you should read my post a lil better. i did say that trasspassing was going to far and not smart. you dont have to trasspssing to see light or smell. with what i suggested you let him know with out getting involved personaly. then he will either tighten up or move problem solved.either way he will learn form it and you can sleep better knowing you got the problem fixed with out drawing attetion to your neighborhood

Being a cannabis grower really opens up your eyes to a lot of things that the general public doesn't recognize... in a way, I'm shocked (yet not so shocked) that there is a LOT of people out there who don't know what weed smells like/can smell like. I'm shocked (yet not so shocked) that there's a lot of people who don't know what weed even looks like when growing.
I know it's a side effect to be a little 'noid, but the forums are full of people who think that the garbage man took DEA courses in recognizing and reporting grow ops.
Even the info that is passed around to a lot of utility companies and the likes is really pretty damn vague, as it describes just about every house in America.
What I'm getting at is that an incredibly small amount of the American people actually have the keen ability to spot a grow op.... a good portion of that amount is the growers themselves and then LEO.
Right now a fellow grower has recognized another grower is slipping. He is noticing the very same signs that LEO will eventually notice. Do the right thing, take the necessary steps to protect yourself, and let that grower know he is slipping!!! If given a chance to keep a fellow gardener out of trouble, why the fuck wouldn't you take it?
I better not see a damn one of you hypocrites in a "busted" thread to say "man that sucks."

Get a group of your med grow buddies and bake some pasta etc and all of you turn up and welcome them to the neighbourhood.
Put a bbq in their drivway, start cooking steaks. watch them squirm.
bring your shotguns. tell them stories of how you were all in the army toghether and brag about the varios ways you put people to sleep in the war.
or just let them be..
edit: maybe put some satelite tracker on their cars. track em for a week and do the biz lol

If you really want them to get the message while you stay safe , why not mail them a letter , someone has to be picking up the mail for that address somewhere ( utility bills etc.) , and it would be a little more low key than posting something on there property, where anybody could see it. plus they mite not panick and ruin 5 months work and say in depth what you want. Just dont put a return address on it.
Anonymous note mailed. They won't know who it was and will get the message. Either they get scared and up and move, or they wise up and fix their shit. Either way you win and they win. Otherwise they will lose eventually, and as you said, you are afraid you may get taken down if they are taken down.

I tend to think of all growers being on "my side." That's not to say I want to be involved with them or I like them all, but I certainly wouldn't want to ruin anyone's freedom or business endeavor. I would mail an anonymous note to them for a couple reasons. One, they're idiots who need to buy some 6 mil plastic rather than be cheap & get busted. Two, if you have lots of legit growers in your neighborhood who want to keep a low profile, a letter certainly won't do any harms as long as they don't know who it comes from.
I would refrain from making it personal or negative. I would keep it short, sweet & to the point. Last, I would sign it something along the lines of, "Thanks for your Prompt Response, Everyone in the Neighborhood." I can't imagine a letter like that not knocking some sense into them. No grower would enjoy realizing that their "secret" op has been the gossip of the neighborhood for the last 5 months, ya know?
If it doesn't get a response from them, you did all you could. Fuck 'em.

The reason I say this is because I remember a member on here who got a letter in the mail but all it showed was the newspaper clipping of a grow bust. This poor bugger didn't know if it was a pissed off neighbor, the police trying to get him out of town cuz they couldn't get a warrant, or a fellow grower trying to just get him to tighten up shop. The poor bastard had to move. So just keep this in mind. I would have a heart attack getting any letter, hopefully my neighbors aren't complaining about me every chance they get.

yeah, definitely a lot more people voting for "don't do anything" than I thought there would be.
