if you're crazy enough to kill yourself being selfish is not going to be your priority if you are at the point that you would prefer death over life then you're obviously suffering immensely with life. its your right to end your life whenever you want noone owes anyone anything and calling them selfish isnt going to help them get better anyways. also if they're already dead then you can call them whatever you want they're gone perhaps its us being selfish to demand that they need to stay alive in their suffering in order for us to gain however we do from them staying alive and suffering.

I dont know I have have stuff happen to me in life too make anyone consider suicide. But I never have i LOVE life!!! Life is the best and it always will be!!!

If someone wants to kill themselves so be it, it's the ones that feel the need to take 10-15 with them that are selfish.

It often backfires and the loved ones left behind go on for the rest of their lives thinking how stupid and selfish you really were in the end. Some people feel the need to take the easy way out of things. Even if it is their own life. As another person that has witnessed how suicide affects a family, it sure isn't the easy way out for the people that are still alive. I don't even like it when someone makes a joke about suicide anymore.

honestly though, it is incredibly selfish and not to mention is the most cowardly way out, although it can change with situation. I dont generally agree with the death penalty either, i think they should just be put in an un-heated prison in Russia or something, a slice of bread and a glass of water everyday, it would have to be a dirty prison as well, rats, sewage the whole shebang! Then leave them there until they die, i cant help but laugh at a government that says murder is illegal and then hammers the point home by murdering people. If this was to happen it would cost us a lot less to keep them and i'm pretty sure they would never do it again if they ever got out which would be fucking unlikely,

selfish isn't a word that comes to my mind...if a person is so distraught that they think ending their life is the only thing that will relieve their pain, then who am i to judge them. that would be selfish of me. most people who commit suicide aren't really thinking about how their actions will affect their loved ones....they are so consumed with pain that they see suicide as the only way to stop hurting.
so no...i don't think its selfish. and i hope if i ever have a terminal illness, that i will have the guts to end my own life before i become a sorry burden on my loved ones.

Thats very much along the lines of how I think.People keep saying what a terrible thing it would be for friends and family members but how about the alternative?They get to wait and watch you suffer physically and mentally and for what again?Because you're concerned about loved ones?Makes no sense.I believe circumstances mean everything in situations like this its definately not a one size fits all like religious conservatives would want you to think
