best coco additives

hey guys, i wanted to know from those with experience what your favourite additives are for growing in coco coir.

hydroguard? hygrozyme? vitamin b? liquid karma? all of the above?

which ones would you guys consider essential for growing in coco, if any?

im using the fox farm line right now, and im only adding liquid karma, for the humic acids. if anyone can give me a good reason to use hygrozyme, that is what im most interested in at the moment, but since my plants are relatively healthy, i dont want to shake things up unless i am certain there will be an improvement.

any tips on these things? any additives you just cant live without?
i did a search for hygrozyme and i couldnt really find much other than that gratefulhead likes enzymes for controlling diseases.

thanks in advance,

well im all canna right now, rhizotonic is an awesome root booster makes plants just explode topside after a few days of root focused growth. kinda expensive tho.
cannazyme has vitamins and enzymes to break down dead root material without rot. supossedly helps uptake of nutes aswell. if reusing coco this stuff is a must.

I've done all the Canna cept Boost and I like'em and would recommend them as well. Especially the PK13/14, cannazyme and rhizotonic. In the H&G line I would recommend the shooting powder and roots excellurator.

ive used Advanced Nutes Pirahna with much success. its a beni fungi collection. i use it several times. Once, sprinkled under under a rockwool plug just as its transplanted. Another time in beginning flower, and another mid flower. I ran out, and havent applied it till just 3 days ago. ive definately been missing out. this shit is really good stuff! try it out, ebay has 25 gram packies for 15 bucks shipped! jus a half - whole tsp per gal and there good to go. youll notice a diffrence in vigor, appearance, and health within 2 days.

good god, i could rep this shit for them. i personally think its the most essential additive in coco. this with FN B and you would be minimized, yet still successful.

cal-mag.....nuff said

liquid karma is great stuff, but after doing the dosage:$ math, i switched to floralicious plus, way cheaper

beneficials are a great additive in coco, not necessary, but definitely boosts root growth and helps the uptake of nutrients

if you are recycling your coco, enzymes are your best friend

I love coco, been growing in it for years now, I use a variety of additives and like to try new stuff all the time, I do have a few products they I would never grow without tho,

1. Great White- premium mycorrhizae (beneficial Bacteria & Trichoderma)

-use during veg and weeks 1 and 2 of flowering

2. Big Bud, if you don't know what this is then you should.

-use during weeks 3 thru 7 of flowering cycle (depending on strain flowering time)

Hydroton mixed in at a 25% or so rate, so I've heard. :joint:

Although this is my first coco run, I can definitely agree with the rhizotonic claims. I absolutely love it and can see the growth in my plants instantly. I have been adding some Superthrive to all of my feedings recently and can see the plants have more vigor with greener new growth and stronger stems. I also have heard great things about bloombastic with coco for flowering, and I just received a nice sample package, so I'll be commenting back on that one later.

One product that I really think has done a world of good to my plants this run is Liquid Silicon...

I use it as a ph up, and even the tiny amount I add (~1ml/5L of soultion) seems to have benefited my girls wonderfully...

I think an enzyme product (powerzyme, hygrozyme, cannazyme etc) is essential...

aside from 6/9, i use small amounts of rhizo at specific stages of growth (mostly early on) just to get roots going, or to aid in transplants, and have dabbled with liquid karma. gotta say, i saw results instantly using the lk, but i wouldnt recommend following the company dosage guidelines. i go about 2 ml per gallon, if that, and only every so often.

ive been using enzymes from the beginning with coco. good for the roots, good for the plants. i began using hygrozyme, but then found this thread, which i now give to you:

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=111148

its all about using barley based pond enzymes (which is basically the same thing as all those expensive hydro store enzymes) instead of the expensive ass kinds we (you, actually :D) use. basically, these pond enzymes are concentrated versions of the hydro store kinds, and that is to say, that the hydro store kinds are watered down versions (that you have to apply at large doses--so as to use more, and eventually buy more ) of the same thing. it kinda like a business strategy, son. :D

anyhow, read the thread decide for yourself, thank me later. :D so yeah, i use pond enzymes too. my plants seem to like it.

peace

I have used the whole H&G line up except there algae and roots excalibur. I substituted their algae with maxicrop works fine. My first grow with out a nute problem of some kind. I wouldnt use the guano teas. They tend to clog up the coco.

if i am using the complete fox farm line with their soluble powder flowering additives (or whatever you call them), will i still need something like big bud?
