Hi stonedu, pull up a chair there buddy.:D

Here's a somewhat aggravating aspect of micro grows. Everything is small except the plants' ability to quickly and easily overgrow the operation. There's no clearer example than the veg hole where mothers and new plants compete for limited space. This is the principal reason for staggered harvest as there's not enough room to maintain multiple mothers AND whole, non-staggered harvest preparations.

picture.php

What's the alternative? Think small, lol. I have a regular size cloner that has been rendered unusable because of the small veg space. I also have a near full flower hole but I want to be ready to flip veggers quickly with each individual harvest.

What about an individual cloner? I don't have many options at this point so here goes. I picked Zombie Virus for the demonstration.

picture.php

The small cutting is ok to show you what I'm doing but large cuttings will fit the time aspect of the flip better. If I want to harvest a plant or two per week, I need to have the same amount of replacements at the ready. This may be impossible but I want to get as efficient as I can.

Here's a little magic dust and sorry for the fuzzy picks.

and into the veg hole

Most cuttings have enough roots to ditch the dome in 7 days. Additional veg time is strain dependent. I hope to be able to have cuttings ready for flower in a little as 10 to 14 days is possible. We'll see how it goes.

oops they are pushing ME out into my garage.

Hey, dfunk. I'm learning too brother, never did learn to pipe down though, was holding the door when they were passing poise out, lol. Thanks for stopping by.

Good to see ya rich. I'm using GH Floranova Grow (7-4-10) & Bloom (4-8-7), Floralicious Plus (2-0.8-0.02), Kool Bloom liquid (0-10-10), Kool Bloom powder (2-45-28), FloraBlend compost tea (0.5-1-1) and FloraNectar sweetener (molasses.)

If you've never tried Floranova and would like to see if it works for you, give GH a call or email and let em know. I got all of the above for $17 shipping. It's worth ~$100 retail. I doubt I'll buy Kool Bloom liquid but GH is onto something with KB powder. I doubt I'll buy the compost tea but the molasses is too convenient. I read a thread that some growers use nothing but Floralicious Plus and KB powder for entire grows. Not sure if I'm ready to go there yet.

Hey bengie187, thanks for the kind words and glad to see you.:D I couldn't tell you the brands of the typically cheap soils but I look for stuff that doesn't show pine products (composted or not) as primary ingredients. I don't like anything pine as it causes hot spots and nute defs.

Peat and humus are the main ingredients I look for (in that order.) Humus seems to widen the window for nute absorption, at least I don't have to use as much pH up. Lime at the rate of a tsp per gallon of mix. 2 tsp per gallon if it's all peat. Perlite to taste and that's it. Probably not sexy enough for organic ferts but you could grow in packing peanuts with Floranova. Thanks for stoppin in.

That won't matter, he keeps some rabbits on hand for wiping.

Back on topic now, I am glad to see you start a thread here in the micro section and I hope everyone can take a chance to learn a little from it. The cab is very well designed and well proven. Maybe you could post up some more pics of what you have grown in it already.

Edit: I wasted my 500th post saying that? Oops.

Rabbit wipes, lol. Is it the kind you can use on both sides?

I'll see if I can dig up a few past pics. Here's some from the bag seed days. Pretty good pot but not as good as most of the stuff available at IC storefronts.

Here's my first attempt with some really great reefer. It's supposed to be an OGKA x SDIBL that got accidentally knocked up with Deep Chuck. I know that's an interesting story but it's also interesting (and very strong) reefer. It has a lemon cleaner smell on top but the funk side is borderline nasty. Hard to imagine something that stinks so bad can taste so good.

Here's the Zombie Virus I just finished. This chit is very strong too. Fruity grape smell while growing then earthy funk/ cinnamon taste. I've heard others say they maintained a fruity taste and smell but this one went dark on me. That's ok because it turned out to be the keeper. One of the better yielders if not best I've managed so far.

Hey stanky1, thanks for dropping by. This thread is open to anything you want to mention or discuss. While my member name wasn't coined by the band, they're still great, lol.

Funny story, I'll give the short version for those who won't see the humor, lol.

Four years ago, I got tricked on the cheap LED spots that sold on Ebay for $30 each. They made my grow box look like a dance floor and reminded me of 70s discotheques. I even hung a mini disco ball from the fixture, hehe.

"Disco bisquits" was also common slang for Methaqualone, (Quaalude) a sleeping pill commonly used and abused by teenagers and adults in the 70s and 80s. "Ludes", as they were commonly called were stamped "ROHRER 714", one of the most iconic drug culture references ever.

Yeah i knew about the orginal disco bisquit term being used to describe ludes that you would take at the end of the night to pass out from dancing and doing coke all night at the disco. I was just thinking a fellow Bisco fan was on the board, good luck with the rest of your grow.

-stanky

ps im way too young to have ever taken ludes, but i remeber listen to one of my dads dennis leary cds and him talking about them, " Call the ludes dude, dude"

Oh, that's what they were for, lol. I used to dance on the ludes and coke was for the take homes, hehe. Would love to see Bisco live. I like Leary too, crazy guy.

I once saw Leary puffing a cig and pacing the stage as he bitched about others (bitching him) about smoking. Then he bitched about his doctor bitching him about eating red meat.
Then he tells a waitress he wants to order "fuckin" COW, the whole damn thing on his plate, right here. "Don't even bother killing the damn thing, I want him fuckin' right here, right now........and I want him fuckin' SMOKING." Funny fucker.

Thanks man! Puff, puff...pass.:joint: Thanks for the props and I here ya. If you're having trouble keeping things copacetic with 64 sq ft, a micro grow probably seems daunting, lol. I'm well equipped with cutters and ties, they go a long way to keep growth under control. I'm also making a SCROG frame as we speak, it's turning out pretty good and can't wait to show you all and hope to get some improvement tips.

Thanks for the info. I'm no dope bigot but I'm probably a little too old to do X at the show, lol. Not that I didn't participate a long time ago. How long you might wonder?

My first show was Eric Clapton's 76/77 "Slow Hand" tour. Was lucky enough to get the front row, center "seat" for the ticket price of $6.50. I puffed weed with a groupie wearing a pink fedora who was the poster child for road whore, lol.

I saw every band that toured the country in the 70s and early 80s for $12 of less per show. The r&r hall of fame probably doesn't interest you younger rockers but I was lucky to be where I was at that time. Bruce Springsteen broke the mold and charged $15 per ticket for "Born In The USA" and we all raised hell about that. My ultimate concert was the Rolling Stones "Steel Wheels" tour in the early 90s. They were only in their late 40s/early 50s and played together better than any band I've yet to see.

My last BIG show, (can't believe it's going on 20 years) was G&R "Use your Illusion" tour with Skid Row as the opener. I had a perfect view from my seat but everybody wanted to stand, blocking my view. Instead of getting my lazy ass up and rockin with the crowd, I threw small pieces of ice and yelled "down in front!" That's when I realized I'm too old to rock in the 25 thousand plus crowds.:badday:
