our population is entirely too massive; or we do not yet have the infrastucture to manage our population. we are literally breeding our species to tremendous drama, whether it be faulty genes to be allowed to proliferate, but more importantly the mismanagement of our resources which inevitably will collapse our overextended population. drama over resources routinely causes population declines;the white, the red the black and the pale horses

Best luck to us all. I advocate the human race intentionally culling their structures and populations(eugenics? no, resource management) instead of leaving cause and effect to do her dirty work. . this recession is the first in many to come that are natural culling of unneeded economic structures.

Sorry verdant green, didn't cite my IQ...merely mentioned it in passant...but if you are so
concerned as to hurl epitaphs and slurs...then pm me and I will be glad to quote you a
number, that is IF you can really handle it.
i wouldnt hold your breath mate :)

But, point in fact, I am quite proud of the fact that I do have a brain that works and
also that I have the proof from vast testing to offer as proof....and due to the simple
there you go again :D
In point of fact, I was not just randomly making a 'brag' statement, but rather pointedly
answering a perceived slight by an opinionated idiot over veterans and their mental
capabilities and capacities for sanity.
so you think intelligence is the opposite of insanity? wtf?

I am sorry for your lack of reading and understanding skills, or you would have instantly
picked up on that fact, I mean, it isn't really all that hard to discern now is it?
ahhh, calling me stupid in order to win an argument - i see a pattern emerging here ;)

Shit, I think its time for me to get stoned and forget this thread...path to nowhere.
enjoy :joint:

This is the exact reason, nothing is done for the 3rd World.

Statement:
I am a carbon based organism, comprised of 98 percent salt water, calcium and most of
those components are also carbon based. I breath carbon dioxide and plants use this
to live and produce oxygen for me to live on a nice symbiosis, wot?
To deny my carbon heritage would be to deny my humanity. However, I do not just use
words alone to implement my meaning in life...I choose sustainability in nature.
To simplify, I live in an earthbag home made of hardened clay and sand.
I live on some acreage in the mountains. On this acreage I produce my
own electricity from natural sources, collect my own water from rainfall, harvest my
own vegetables from my garden, butcher my own grass fed meat free of steroids or
antibiotics or Genetically modified additives. I harvest the wool from my sheep to
produce my own clothing, collect and stuff my cushions and mattresses with cotton
grown in my garden. I use natural stone, collected on my land, for my furniture and I
use a FIRE to cook with in an iron stove. I till the soil, raise livestock(incl chickens),
and maintain daily my way of life...BUT, I do this for me and my family and I get the
FULL 100 percent value of all my labors. I dont pay taxes, because I dont earn money.
I already earned a shitload over my years in civilization and have already paid taxes on
it all several times over. I am retired from active life as you live it, and I couldnt be
more happy or satisfied with my simple life.
My property is fenced in with a 12 feet tall natural stone fence to keep out assholes
and unwanted visitors. Call me a hippie if you must, but can you state that you are as
happy or carefree or as satisfied with YOUR life as I can very emphatically state and
prove? I get high when I want, from my own grown quality herb that is legal on my
property because of the fence laws here.
I do not recognize any persons right of authority over my person or my freedoms, I
stand for what I believe in and am willing and able to stand up and be counted, not to
just type inanely on a remote keyboard about my whims and fancies.
I have a brain, so sue me. I fought for your and my freedoms, so slander me. It matters
not in the slightest what you think of me, cause you are not me.
I am happy and content, are you?

Church^

I am a bit more reliant on my technology. Can't run 12k on nothing. Got 35 acres in one place, and 5 in the other.

Completely off grid, that's GREAT!

you know bobby im sure I'll get some flames for this but it is of my own personal opinion that todays wealth is indebted to the descendants of all laborers that accumulated to what we know today as to be exactly that; today as we know it. If it weren't for every peice of hand-mined ore every atom of labor then our life is not as we know it.

we should pay more attention to third world countries - their peoples built, bled, and died hungry for our world as we know it and their children have to sustain the same miserable measures because of what they were led to believe would be "redeeming" for their descendants - I mean; if these peoples were left alone , their ignorant tribal life would be intact and I think that would be preferential to the shithole of Hell that we have in our bucket now , no?

and others you cannot
The time has come to weigh those things

It would cost mere dollars to feed villages. It's not done, because the powers at be don't want them to flourish. If you get an area to third world status, they are livestock.

like I said, we are in a population crisis. Of course power does not want these people to flourish there is a eugenics program already in progress.

p.s. - its CLIMATE CHANGE NOT GLOBAL WARMING!

You know why it's no longer referred to that way? They couldn't sell it as Global Warming any more, people were getting wise to the scam so they changed the name to make it more marketable.

A fraud is still a fraud, even if you call it a crisis.

convenient viewpoint to take.

unfortunate that the world's most energy hungry continient is the last to acknowledge there is a problem with it.

You mean China?

India?

They use way more NRG then the US. However, they are "developing nations" and do not have to follow the guide lines.

Cookie monster

These are the same guys who are driven around in luxury cars instead of using public transport and take the government jet instead of economy class airlines.

Just another example of a government using the environmental issue as a way to tax the average person while making it seem as if they are doing something positive.
Chances are the profit generated will not be plowed back into cleaning up the enviroment.

I think that for now, the incentive to cut co2 emissions just isn't there and the consequences are too removed from most peoples lives.

Also oil, coal, and natural gas are just too cheap and energy dense. Alternative energy can't compete without government subsidy...yet.

Although one could say that oil has a gigantic subsidy in the form of the US military which protects oil supplies in the middle east. I probably pay $20,000 a year in federal taxes, of which roughly $5,000 goes to the military, of which maybe $1000 is devoted to middle east security. I fill up every 2 weeks roughly at $50 a fillup. So about $1200 a year fuel cost. Tack on the $1,000 of protection money I pay for the military's presence in the middle east and the real cost of gasoline is about $6 a gallon. Too bad that cost remains hidden from view.

It's going to be very hard to make progress until Americans start being affected adversely. But if class 5 hurricanes start to hit US shores 5-10 times a year, or Wall Street falls below sea level and starts to flood then we might see some change.
