Hey Gents,

My 7yo son has been diagnosed with Aspergers' Syndrome. It's on the autism spectrum. For the 1st 5 years of his life he threw up almost daily. Children on the spectrum have numerous gut issues and allergies. Doctor after doctor, diet after diet, he threw up.

I read an article about a mom who had given her autistic son cannabis and the turn around was amazing. Following her lead we decided to try canna-tincture. We give him 2 drops every morning.

I can't rememberr the last time he threw up. It has not been since we have been administering the tincture. He would avoid food and who wouldn't if you threw up all the time.

He is now a munching pumpkin man. My wife who would prepare elaborate foods for him for years hoping it would work was severely depressed. She would spoon feed him the healthy organic foods made with love and he would throw up. It was maddness. Nothing can be more heartwrenching than to have a sick child other to lose them to the Grim Reaper.

Needless to say, my wife is estatic as am I. We are so greatful.

Another thing, behaviorially our son has improved markedly. He would have the most intense melt downs. Once I had to grab him and pull him out of a resturant. Outbursts were common. WERE.

Now he is at the top of his class in reading and math. And, making friends. That had been a challenge due to the social akwardness that Aspergers' brings. Today he has a gang of pals that hang out and play together.

His teacher says he is a joy in the class and is exceptionally bright. Before the tincture he was labeled as a "special needs problem child". No more.

Just writing this bring the tears. I am looking into contacting other parents that have had these challenges and found relief in our sweet plant. Autism is on the rise big time. It was 1 in 150 up to 2005. Today autism is showing up in 1 in 90.

The time is right to bring awareness of the value of this wonderful medicine for autism to the world.

Sorry to have ranted here. I'm sorry if I hijacked the thread. I just wanted to share our struggle and our great victory.

cheers,

Wilson, Your post made my eyes glass over and gave me goose bumps. Your son is very lucky to have parents like you.

You can count me in, as soon as I get my thread count up. Nice to see all the dads around.

Wilson! my oldest girl has Aspergers' Syndrome along with Celiac disease. I find your post very interesting.

Peace all, hope to see you soon,

I'm too touched. Some of us many many people have been so terribly affected by government sanctioned corporate greed driven poisoning is reaching a creshendo. All kinds of weird illnesses and maladies are falling the innocents worldwide. Washington is the top of the heap for MS. More cases here per capita than anywhere on earth. Why? Hello Hanford Nuclear Reservation, the goolish nursery where weapons were made that killed hundreds of thousands of innocents. Cause and effect. We also are the sad locale of the largest cache of nuclear weapons that exists in the entire world. That dreamy little neighborhood called Bangor is next to the great hippies at Ground Zero who protest and get arrested blocking the gate every year.
I think our job as fathers is to make sure that our children are not abused and damaged by the criminals who wage war and steal resources and commit acts of genocide.

Geez, I went crazy here. Two great pulls of Romulan on my vape sent me raging.
Sad shit at Ft. Hood. War creates big time crazy. My dad was a Marine at the Frozen Chosin in Korea. He was 20. He was screwed. He never came round right. PTSD anyone? Me! As a child of a combat veteran and as a veteran myself. War who cares what is it good for? yea yea say it again.peaceout.

Sorry Arglye bout my looned rant in my previous. I meant to say that our little guy has also gone from a typically very restrictive diet (no gluten, casine, dairy & on & on & on) he eats all regular foods now. I really believe that the tincture has healed his "leaky gut".

i love my kids with all my heart and soul

l left a very good career to raise them when their mom couldn't do it

The one thing i have anguished over is the potential damage my relationship with marijuana can bring to my family (Reputation, Child Protective Services, Ect)

its especially hard as I am sure I could never had left my career for my kids if i were not for marijuana and the influence it has on my perspective and the comfort it provides as a medicine

I often anguish to the point of tears question this relationship, why after all I have sacrificed would I have to contend with this weight upon my shoulders?

Then i read this thread and I realize that being a good father is in part being contrary to the norm, since the norm pontificates my and my measure of success and not we and our measure of success as a family unit

i have a very very profound and deep testimony regarding marijuana and fatherhood, one day when time allows i will share

great thread

Fun for all the family.....

Fun for all the family.....

I had four sons, lost the eldest five years ago: killed himself following ten years of smack..... next one is in the Special Forces, so he's a wee bit negative {but drinks like a fish..... the problem with a life in the Forces....} and gets drug tested, other two are confirmed tokers.......

I made it a rule of thumb never to toke with them, or anything else similar, until they had finished school..... I was a teacher and it was simply too risky to have it any other way.....

Big advantages if you share things with your kids, such as a joint, as you can "educate" them into the way of the weed, and warn them of the other dangers out there in and around drug use...... very important, and the best way to do it by far, if you are able.....

Was some research a few years ago which indicates that "controls" passed on to drug users by other drug users is a far far better way to do things, rather than by threats and punishments handed out by police/courst...... I did an essay connected with it a few months ago, so I will quote the relevant bits:

The comparisons made by Reinarman and Cohen conclude that their data suggests that regardless of its legal status, cannabis use is in fact a cultural practice in modern societies, and to be fully understood, it must be viewed as such.
Viewed as a cultural practice, the informal social controls found in user culture hold potential significance for harm reduction and drug control in a broader sense. The authors cite Becker’s (1967) research which they found highly relevant: learning what effects to expect from a drug and how to interpret and manage them are integral parts of user culture. As their culture develops, users enthusiastically teach each other how to reduce risks of harm and maximise the benefits they seek, so the incidence of unanticipated or unwanted effects declines. With legal or illegal drugs, most users are governed most of the time not so much by formal social controls like law as by the informal social controls that operate close up in their social worlds. Unlike their formal, statutory siblings, these informal social controls are widely adhered to by users precisely because they were invented by and for them, within their culture, rather than imposed upon them from outside it.
The authors summation sets the use of cannabis within a social, historical and global context, pointing to the fact that ingestion of chemicals for the purpose of consciousness-alteration goes back at least to beer brewing in Samaria 10,000 years ago, probably longer: notwithstanding slogans like “zero tolerance” and “drug-free America”, or the UN’s hopelessly naïve “A drug free world – we can do it!” from ten years ago, there is no historical evidence to indicate that it can be stopped. There is however, historical evidence of the cultural “domestication” of intoxicants. The studies data suggested that the regulatory rules and other informal social controls invented within user culture are an important part of that process, and that they are likely to have greater power to reduce risk and harm than the formal social controls of government. A highly significant point.

Just thought it was relevant: hope its of help or interest?

Yea, when they are young it can be a touchy situation. When my 18 year old stepson was little, 8-9, he knew that something was going on in the spare room but didn't know what. My wife and I decided to have a talk with him and explain that what went on in our home was "our" business and nobody elses. We also explained what would happen if he talked about it to other people, jail for his mother and I, foster care for him and the end of his little world of friends. He got the point and there was never an issue. They even pulled the drug class bullshit on him at school where a cop comes in a talks to the class about drugs and starts out the class by holding up a glass pipe and a bong and asks the kids "Does anybody know what these are?". He had been forewarned and said nothing and didn't raise his hand. Not so for many kids in his class, unfortunatly for their parents who probably thought they were all secret squirrel and shit with their smoking. KIDS KNOW WHAT GOES ON IN THEIR HOMES!!
Better to inform them and explain what is going on than to end up in jail because they don't understand the dangers out there that can effect them and you.
Now when he got around 12-13 he was getting pretty curious about the spare bedroom and one day I was flushing the system because of a problem and had the hose running from the upstairs bathroom, across the hall from his room, to the grow room. Well every time I opened the door to go in and out he would appear in the hall and rubber neck trying to get a look into the room. So after about the 5th time I said "Hey, come here boy!". He almost fainted, frozen in his tracks, and tried to pretend he was interested in something on the wall, LOL!
So I brought him in the room all goggle eyed and told him to get a good look. He was overwhelmed and and just stood there staring around him in amazement. But I turned it into more of a science project than a grow room by lifting up the lid on one of the DWC buckets and explaining to him how hydroponics worked and how the plants roots feed on the nutrients in the water. That all lasted about 10 minutes and I told him to go. After that he lost all interest in what was going on in the spare room. Curiosity had been satisfied and the only issue that came from it was when he wanted to do a hydroponic setup for his science project. We ended up deciding that was probably a bad idea and went with something else.

Well years have gone by since then and now he is 18, back living with us for a while and just learned how to make clones. He is stil amazed with the hydroponic growing and wants to do it on his own someday, but knows the dangers and how to avoid them.

This is how I was raised too. I just didn't let him get into it until he was older. I on the other hand was learning about growing when I was 12, helping with the growing when I was 13 and actually doing all the labor at 15.
I guess he will be a third generation grower.

Hey, thanks for the story Mist. I have just a few years left before I have to tackle that same issue. My basic plan has been to move to outdoor only growing as the kids get old enough to find my hidden indoor spot.

Somehow and sometime, though, we'll really have to talk about it and defuse the curiosity. We've already gotten past their curiosity about sex, money, religion, and politics. This seems different, though. For the most part I can't be jailed for my views or actions in the realms of sex, money, religion, and politics.

Good timing finding this forum

My wife recently asked my 21 yr old son what he would like for xmas this year. He said to her, "I'd really like some of dad's pot and a vaporizer". Seems he stumbled upon my outdoor grow of 2 plants about 3 yrs ago and didn't say anything to me about it. I had no idea he knew I grew it or used it. At first I was embarrassed when I found out he knew. My wife told me they had a good conversation about weed and me. He doesn't really like alcohol because of the way it makes him feel the morning after. He explained to my wife how much better cannabis is than alcohol. My wife told me it's scary how much he and I think alike. Guess I'll be sharing some of my stash with him this xmas but he won't be able to open that present in front of his younger siblings or grandparents! It's good to know that he knows the truth about cannabis and he's not buying the govt/law enforcement bs about "reefer madness".

My Pumpkin Man came home from school yesterday wanting to die. He said, "I wish I was dead." He's 7.

He was the only child in his class not to complete the PE race within the time limit. Everyone else in his class got a completion certificate to be displayed on the gym wall. Not my boy. He was ONE second too slow. He is an Aspergers child. Kids on the autism spectrum are challenged to the core on an average day. But to be discriminated against because of his disability is not only immoral but illegal.

I am pulling him out of the sub-standard babysitting compliance factoy.

My wife and I are looking into homeschooling. I will teach my child with all my heart. Teach your children well the song goes. About the code that we can live by.

Today makes 35 years since I discharged out of the Marine Corps. From working in drug/alcohol rehab and in surgery, commercial crabbing the Bering Sea, Warner Bros Music, sales of damn near everything, I at 55 with a rich diverse background in many areas I can teach my son and teach him well. I was even a meterologist in the USMC. And as a cannabis crusader, I put my ass and wallet on the line and ran for the US Senate x2. And the House once.

Always speaking out against the constant war machine and the trash it produces that's killing us. I don't cotton much for Amerika's wars on sanity.

I can't believe we actually pay people to abuse and neglect our little treasures.

My blood is boiling now. I'm gonna chill with my White Widow and plot taking over all I survey, sorta probably.

I'll keep you guys updated. I'm attending an orientation for homeschooling Monday.
