Someone please tell me what the price of marijuana has to do with Cannabis Laws & Cannabis Legislation?

Why hasn't this off topic thread been closed and locked down?

Instead this topic now has over 700 off topic replies. Off topic for this forum.

I mean, is the purpose of the thread to propose the legal regulation of the price of marijuana?

i currently live in a state that will be voting on mmj in the next 6 months. already on craigslist are people looking for 1) commercial growers (not "caregivers") 2) "weed-lawyers" 3) "weed doctors" one could say they're just business people working capitalism to the fullest, but all i can think is

i love the plant but i'm just not sure this is what i envisioned when "we won"

Stock up seeds. As the date comes close get a lot of clones ready to go.

People will need these ASAP.

There will also be a need for bud when the law goes into effect.

i draw a distinction between in one's self interest and selfish. when one's primary motivation is self interest, i would consider it selfish.. semantics, i guess.

i have also seen selfless acts... actions that disregard ones own self interest.

I have never seen a decision that didn't fall under the selfish rule or self motivated or however you want to say it. If I jump in front of a car to save a stranger I am making the value judgment that my life would be worse if I didn't try to save that person than if I did and got hurt. I guess it all depends on perspective.

No the price of MJ is high solely because it's illegal and then LEO uses it's high price as a rationale to keep it illegal.

And it's not some sort of proposal ie force marijuana to be free of charge.

The thread is just an observation. got it.

This topic about price has caused a lot of heated discussion on a lot of boards. And it never leads to anything good .. just a lot of pissed off people. It goes on and on and never gets resolved.

IMHO it degrades and divides the community.

And if I had started the thread I believe it would have been locked in less than a half hour.

This thread has gotten somewhere and I actually agree with BlueDot on this / his point that: the prison industrial complex / governmental powers that be benifit from denying you your freedom and that is the main reason great stuff is still $50 - $70 for an 1/8th.

Again props for JJ on this thread and if stoners can't get pissed off and then none of us have free speech.

If professional growers didn't have limits placed upon them like 100ft canopy then they could produce more bud at lower cost and the price of meds would come down given that competition continues to increase and litigation against them decreases. So call your congressman, tell him you cheaper meds, tell him you want it legalized.

seems if you compare the price of a days worth of top shelf MMJ, to top shelf alcohol the prices are very comparable/similar........but if you want to bitch about prices you can always go buy mex. schwag, & malt liquor, ok.

can you buy a bottle of patron, or blue label johnny, for $5 a day...hell no......theres always going to be bitches bitching about everything....MMj market seems to be doing fine at these prices & I bet it stays at these price for a long time to come
