This is a perfect example of why tent growing is so simple and effective. Great work :joint:

Looking nice. A buddy has a bunch of SPG cuts I gave him about 2 weeks into flower and will try and get some shots up soon. It's a strain that really must be topped. He has a few that he did not top and gonna be some massive colas. Luckily the humidity is in check otherwise could be a problem. Haven't seen them in a few weeks and he said they are taking off.

I have that exact same tent...lol. Right now it's filled with a big SPG mom and a few Chem 4 moms.

Here are some more pictures from today. The flowers are just starting to form.
Irie_Lion- the canopy ranges from 18-24 in. from the light. I try to avoid putting the taller tops directly under the light, and I completely rearrange them every day or two so they get light evenly everywhere hopefully...

NOYB- I'd like to see those SPG shots. I have not topped these plants at all, just LST. I only cut off a few fan leaves here and there, and a few tiny tops deep down that never would have grown into anything much. How are you liking your tent so far? I love mine and can't believe it actually got this crowded with 6 plants.

Looking good. :)

Looking good. :)

The SPG is looking very similar to my SWT#3 pheno from SOL, what kind of smells are you getting off them at this early stage, can you try and describe them for me without using the grapefruit descriptor? Hows the resin production at this early stage, mine starts piling it on about day 12-14 or thereabouts.

Heres some pics from a couple of days ago, hope you don't mind. :abduct:

Puffin fresh- those are some nice photos. What does SWT stand for again? The resin production became noticeable around day 14 or 15. I have smelled some odor that reminded me of cheese a few times, but I'll have to try to get a good description of the smell tomorrow. I have a terrible sense of smell so don't expect too good of a description.

Here are some photos just shy of week 3

Hi fear.loathing, nice pics thanks for the update :) SWT#3 stands for Sweet Tooth # 3, the third back cross to the original Sweet pink grapefruit clone, these seeds were made by Breeder steve from Spice of Life (SOL) SWT#1 was an outcross to DJ's blueberry I believe and all the others are further crosses back to the original SPG mother.

It is uncanny how similar our 2 versions look, I will have to try and get some photos from underneath to compare the branching structure, I'll post them up here when I do if that's ok with you.

Your grow looks great, good luck with it all. ;)

thanks for the kind words, anyone can throw up whatever pictures here whenever. I thought it might stand for sweet tooth, but I was sitting there wondering what the W was for, Sweet W__ Tooth. Good luck with that SWT #3, its looking really healthy!

pretty impressed! didnt think 6 plants could develop a canopy like that!

Man I am starting to get frustrated with soil growing, I can't seem to get the nutrient level right. I really can't wait to start my hydro setup in a few years. Last time I burned the hell out of my plants and this time I am pretty sure I am starving them. I have been pretty light on fertilizer with the SPG, and the only one that looks perfectly healthy is the smallest of all the plants. Theoretically, the small plant should have smaller nutrient needs, and all plants are getting the same nutrient solution, so I am guessing deficiency rather than nute burn or pH issues. Here is what parts of the 5 bigger plants are looking like. Any advice would be appreciated.

I really don't like how slow plants respond in soil and I don't like the uncertainty of nutrient/pH levels in the soil. I want to grow with hydro or aeroponics so I know precisely what conditions the roots are in.

On the brown spots, leave get VERY dry and shriveled up. In the worst spots, leaves will crumble in your hand. It seems to be affecting fan leaves more than the "trim leaves"

fearloathing...first off let me say nice grow, looks like you have a green thumb and have masterd the lst technique well. I read in your about post that you were frustrated working with the nutrients in organic soil. I also noticed the fox farm nute bottle in the pic. Might i suggest before you go with hydro try a homemade soil that supplies the plant with most if not all the nutes it need through out veg and flower. that way you dont have to worry about nutes and you can even make it where the ph is buffered naturally. Just my 2cents. I used to use all those liquids then i realized that a great soil mix is all you need for success. If you add some homemade tea, watch out, you wil be overgrowing your tent. i will try and dig up some links for you

this works well
