yea man, i hear that, i constantly wonder how some people get rid of all that soil ... especially since i live in a city and a big pile of soil isn't something you usually see just sittin around haha.
seriously though, just give one hempy bucket a try, they are easy as shit and i think you would be pleased ... its a great transition to hydro IMO. just make sure you grab that FF big grow hydro version not the soil version
... but im sure you could figure that out

Nice tip dub....i run perlite/verm....i thought of reusing but was scared i might F*ck something up! I might have to try this, but perlite and vermiculite are soo cheap it might not even be worth it!...$7 a 4cu.ft bag! i just bag it and off too a complex with a public dumpster! I usually let it compost in my backyard for a month or 2 before the dump!

yo dubwise, i have rinsed and reused ... i just took the root mass and shook it out a little and used whatever fell off. seemed to work out alright, i never saw any real adverse effects.
that being said, not sure it was a GREAT idea, i feel like the vermiculite may have held some salts and/or nutes that i didn't want to mix back up. thats just my
, i really have nothing to back it up.
i dont use enough hempy stuff to have to worry about going through a lot of that stuff anyways, my buckets are pretty small.
have you seen any probs?

you snuck in there killa, i do the same thing with my waste ... out to a dumpster for a different complex.

that is a good reason to recycle ... like i said, i dont use enough mix to make it worth it to me to recycle ... maybe in the future
i finally got the carbon scrubber "installed" but i think it's going to need some tweaking ... i just needed SOMETHING to get some of the stink out of here. it should work just fine the way it is ... in theory. one day when i have the WHOLE day to myself, i'm going to take everything down and do it all right... tough to find those days sometimes.
anyways, here are some pics from tonight, the group outside and a pic of a VERY aggressive satori male ... i wasn't planning on keeping him, but what the hell, might as well take the quickest/strongest one, right? clones coming off on sunday, at that point I will DEFINITELY know all sexes.

yea i have a lil bucket set up with some pop on lids for 5 gal. buckets,also i bought a ebb and flow bucket system a few months back but i never took it out the box yet.was gonna set it up at the old spot but ...yea...as soon as i get in my groove all the way here i will get at them and see if i can make it do what it do.

Those ready to flip?
Getting rid of any medium sucks. So much stuff in and out and buying stuff. I live on a big piece of ground, so piles of soil etc, would never look out of place. I compost all my chop scraps, fans etc. But I reuse my coco and perlite. Hard to do it without a fenced in yard, for you town/city folk. I take a bucket full out in the back yard and lay a piece of screen on a lawn chair and dump the coco/perlite/vermiculite and hose it down. While I do that, I'm scrubbing the white shit off the bottoms of the pots, then I flush it more then let it drain. squeeze out excess water and pack it back into the house.
Might not work in an apartment. haha.
I have a pretty nice looking Purple Kush in a 2 gal hempy bucket right now. Maybe I'll snag a pic of it and put it in my thread.

hey hazy, thanks for stoppin in ... they were flipped about 8 days ago. One of the Satori boys is seriously blowing up fast ... definitely a pollen I want to keep ...
and i agree, moving medium is a bitch. i've seen pics of the area you are in (on your thread) and i bet it's a lot easier for you than me! in my condo there is no yard what so ever and we share a roof deck sooo ... nothing outside
i'll come over and check out your thread soon, always very impressive work.
all this talk reminds me i NEED to take clones tomorrow. First time using rapid rooters but I think I can pull it off.

what up everyone, i hope everyone had a fun little halloween.
I took most of the afternoon on saturday and sealed up the room pretty well (light and air). The carbon scrubber is now working efficiently and is keeping everything stink free. What a difference! It's also actually benefitting the temps in there too, keeping it only a couple above ambiant (72F) at all times.
Today I took some clones off all of them, even the boys (2 from each). I mixed up a little Thrive Alive and h20 (very light mix) and dunked some rapid rooters. I don't have any cloning hormone right now so I just put them straight into the RRs, I am hoping that will work. I used to bubble clone but I didn't want to deal with setting it all up so I thought i'd give the RR a try. Worst case if these clones don't work out and i find a cut I really love, I'll just reveg it.
Here are a couple of pics, just chillin in early flower. The DB is starting to shoot out some hairs, the PRxPK is a little slower and the skunk #1 is stretchy as shit.
I also have some new seeds on the way ... will update that when they get here.
