Is 1800 PPm to high for veg????

I have my rez at 1800 ppm, my friends tells me thats way to high but the I dont see any problems with the plants at all. my friend says to fulsh right now , and tomorrow put my rez at a 900 ppm veg mix, should I do this please let me know, or can I just add water to my rez to lower the ppm , please let me know, thanks alot .
Sincerely,

Id have to agree! 800-1100 veg and 1100-1500ppm's for flower, But again its strain specific.
If they aint broke dont fix'm imy theory! You can add R/O to drop your TDS, Id dbl ck my ph meter as well.

I have an oakton PH1 and a hanna primo tds meter, they both are calibrated properly , my ph is 5.9 right now as we speak , umm the tds is 1800 ppm gonna lower in about an hour with some ro water I figure one five gallon should do it, I have a 50 gal rez

Right on! I bet it takes more then a 5r though!! Id get it to around 1100 and see how they look in 2 days!! ph is good!!

The monumental abuse plants will survive and what’s good for them are two different things. Have you thought to ask the plants?

EC is not a torture device used to cram poisons down out plants throats, it’s a universal translator that allows us to speak plant. 1800 is a meaningless number by itself. You need to compare it with yesterday’s numbers and those from the days before. Chart numbers everyday for a week and there’s your answer. EC up, pH down is too rich. EC down, pH up is too lean.

When you can get pH to swing by less than 0.5 per week, you’re getting close (flat readings look good on paper but are bad for the plant. A small pH swing is good for you as no one number alows for absorption of all nutes)

FWIW You’re running an EC of 3.6 while I run closer to 1.1. Your solution is more than 300% stronger than mine. Listen to your buddy, cut nutes by 60%-70%, chart every day and adjust from there.

I have had my ppm get to 1600-1700 when I have come back from being out of town for a week or so the plants seem ok but I lowered the ppm to around 1000 my usual level

ive always seen or heard of 900-1300 max in veg, even with monster plants in hydro. im very surprised your plants arent asking you for a break yet? i just heard of a guy who ph's water before nutes and they stay more constant for the week, ring true to anyone? for dirt or hydro my recipes are alomost 99% ph perfect on res change. only as thehours go on do i need to top off with water/ph buffer. any ph before for steadier ph levels?

I always PH before nutes. I only go to 6.0 because my nutes will bring it down just a bit more.

pH Down comes last. Let nutes drop the pH first and adjust from there.

1800 ppm will work... really should just be bottle intstructions for rapidly growing plants...

run gh flora nova bloom @ 15ml (1 tbsp) per gal... many gardeners consider this far too much & rely on the ph/lucas furmulas...

as has been eluded to... really is strain dependent...
some tomato growers spike the ec far higher than that to create solid fruit...

more data...
Is any1 else slamming their plants with high ppm?

Shoot Id be scared to death of 15ml per gall of FNB! Folks really run it that high?
Ive been toying with FNG for veg and just adding FNB to that Res for Bloom, Larger main stem and more roots FWIS then veging in just FNB. Got the new theory from Lucas and it seems to be working. I use a .7 conv and never go above 1400 ppm in a cycle.

gen hydro mfg's flora nova bloom.

bottle instructions:
3.75 ml/L | 3 tsp/gal | 1350 ppm (nacl) | 2.6 ec | max strength for rapidly growing plants
3 tsp=1 tbsp=15 ml=1/2 oz=15 cc=3 tsp per gal...

enjoy your garden!

Interesting, Ive got a side by side going, DWC 1's running FNB the other is running 0-8-16.
So far the FNB is winning. Well see soon!

Allow me to humiliate myself for the good of the class. Before I came to IC and learned my hydro ropes, I was running a 0-15-45 solution using vinegar for pH control. The abuse these plants survive is amazing but, that doesn't mean it's good for them.
