If you are still in Humboldt, check out the Eureka Coop.
They have some sweet jars that hold about 1/2 pound.

I can usually find mason jars at grocery or hardware stores. Don't know much in the way of alternatives. Good luck.

have you seen the container store?

I would look around for size of mason jar you want, there out there. and considering there is the air sealer for mason jars..

go to walmart in the section by the candle...the have HUGE ass jars that can hold a 1/2 lb (maybe more) and they have the rubber seals on them. I can stick my entire hand in there and shuffle buds around, and i'm no small dude.

Sometimes Bed Bath and Beyond has large jars in their kitchen section. Also Ikea has some big jars. Neither are gonna be as cheap as mason jars, but they might help if you get desperate.

Tupperware is a good choice. Glad brand is airtight/smell tight.

I had a real smelly strain that I kept in gladware, open up a small corner and the entire room filled with the smell almost instantaneously.

You can't really knock trichs off the sides tho, but use it enough and you will collect some in a corner.

Also large pickle jars are everywhere. Its a bitch getting the smell out tho.

anybody use those kitchen containers, like for your coffee? they look good, stainless i think, snap seal nylon gasket. all kinds of sizes, probably fairly cheap tons of chinese import at the dollar store. lighter than glass, attached lid, don't break easy.

Most of the reason besides a tight seal that mason jars are preferred over other containers is the fact that they are not PLASTIC... barring that any tight sealing nonplastic container should suffice. Any jar that used to be used for pickles still smells like pickles to me... but if they don't to you use em!

You might be able to find something at a local homebrew store (beer brewing). Last I checked IKEA has jars too, but not sure what sizes.

Better to just order a dozen online. Jars in retail stores cost the same as jars online + shipping, at least in my area.
