How is the quality on these China made rigs. Are they all the same piece of gear, the Spin pro and others? They all look identical.

OK UPS left the trimmer at my front door yesterday (Thursday) already :woohoo: but I didn't look for it until today lol when I came back from work.

I don't have anything around to try it out on so I will have to give it a shot with a friends grow some time over this weekend, I will let ya all know how that went.

All I can say so far the trimmer appears extremely well built and is fully serviceable (no glued nor epoxied in parts) and I can't wait to try it out.

Turning the handle once makes the cutting blades spin 36 times!

I went and tried out the trimmer on a friends crop and let me tell you it is the most awesome thing invented! :jump:

Obviously you can't use it on big stuff like large flower clusters but if you pull off the nuggs all you gotta do is put them in there, turn the handle a few times and voilà the nuggs come out just as if worked on with a scissor!
The cutting wires got sticky after a while and weren't cutting clean anymore so I took them and wiped them off with a rag soaked in alcohol and a minute later the whole thing was good to go again.

I saw in the new eBay there is a 10% discount for medical users!

I should ask the seller for a little commission for putting that report on here! :)

I just got mine today. It did come in a box that made it clear what was inside...bummer. The product is very well built; this is no cheap-ass salad spinner. Solid parts, everything fits and works as it should. I can't wait to try it out. I've got a harvest in a couple of weeks that should yield around 7-8 lbs. I'll let you know how it works. From what I've heard, the endless hours and/or days of sissor trimming are a thing of the past for me! :woohoo:

^^^^^I went and had to buy another one, my friend didn't want to give me back the first one I had bought...(yeah he liked it that much!)

Anyway I got mine in the original box, too.

But I requested stealth shipping so the seller had the box the trimmer was shipped in wrapped in some paper and all was good.

I scored one a week or so ago. I have not been able to try it yet, will be a while. I got a Tumble magic. This one is from amsterdam and comes with a blade and wires. I guess the blade is an upgrade and replaces the wire, "cut instead of whip" as it reads.

We will see how good she is. I am pretty stoked, if it eliminates the need for me to trim popcorn it will be worth the price. I can do my big colas by hand.

^^^^^^^Yeah not having blades on my trimmer gave me second thougts at first but after having tried both versions whether blades or wires makes no difference once they get sticky they both cut shitty so you gotta clean both with some alcohol whether you have wires or blades...

And wires are much cheaper to replace than blades.

Well I finally got to try mine. I agree with leapfrog, this thing is awesome! It is worth every penny. This harvest should be 7-8 lbs dry. That's a solid week, maybe more for me doing it with sissors. I've got 4-5lbs done now- about 12 hours spread over 3 Days. Go get one dude, you'll love it!

I've had my eye on this contraption. After my last harvest, I think Im ready to give it a shot. My damn hands are killing me. I've got to get something to help out.

Funny you mentioned that because I thought the same thing but gravity holds down the flowers and the clear lid stays really clean.
The rubber fingers inside the bowl gently swirl around the flowers and don't trash them around in the bowl.

My friend now got the manual and electric unit. I haven't seen it operating yet but he said it's great since he can use the hand crank when he's somewhere with no electricity and the motor when his hands get tired and power is available.

Not only that, but since its made of plastic it might crack or break if you drop it on concrete or other hard surface. The metal topped ones would just get a small dent at worse.

I just got the metal topped one last month and it works just as good as the videos Ive seen. They are expensive for what they are, but I get tired of trimming the small stuff so its worth it.

I just got the original spinpro trimmer at hydroempire for $499 shipped. You definitely have to clean the blades with alcohol every once in a while to keep them cutting clean. Overall I'm happy with the quality of the trim. I would guess this thing cuts the trim time by about 60-75%. But it's cuts the frustration of trimming popcorn by 99%. I harvested 3 cheese plants that yielded a total wet weight of 35 oz in just under 4 hours. This machine alleviates the need for the small to medium sized grower to have a trim crew. One person can trim 6+lbs of wet buds in a single day. My only real criticism about this trimmer is that the smell of the rubber fingers does affect the final product. I hope after a few days of drying the natural smell of the buds will be all the way back. I'm going to do a very thorough cleaning job and run it through the dishwasher. Maybe that will take some of the odor out of the rubber parts. Overall I would give the spinpro trimmer a B+ and highly recommend it.

HossCartwright.....the smell of rubber will dissipate. may i suggest a few hot loads in the dishwasher...or even lay outside and allow the sun to bake it out......

There is no reason a person that just grows enough to supply their own personal smoke would need a trimming machine. If you're just doing a plant or two here and there doing it by hand shouldn't be a problem. This is a solution for caregivers/commercial growers having to trim a bunch of plants on a regular basis. If my patients complain, I'll explain that the alternative will be them volunteering their time to help me trim. I don't think they'll mind though, it does a pretty darn good job with minimal damage and decent results. I've paid guys to hand trim who do a much worse job.

I grabbed the Tumble magic off Ebay as well, probably the same as any of them, but with the blade. That rubber smell came out pretty easily. I washed everything in the sink with hot water and dish soap, rinsed with cold and left it out of the box and apart for about two weeks. On mine it seemed like all that rubber stink was coming from the black band that joins the upper and lower half, until I washed everything.

It will be a few more weeks before I can test mine out, but I am pretty happy about running all the popcorn through this and basket drying. I hate trimming that small stuff.

Yes, it's very good for popcorn. And it actually makes the small fluffy stuff that I would usually toss in the hash pile smokable. I'm drying in one of those collapsible, 5 tier nets that you hang from the ceiling. It's pretty sweet.
