yeah but most herb in the springs clubs is trash, so that's probably why they only pay 4, but then still sell 50 to 60 dollar 1/8s, the herb I've seen go to clubs for 48 was all organic, 10-12 week strains, flushed proper trimmed and cured, like I said it all depends on the product.

count: if you have your card go to a couple of clubs with your inventory and let your herb do the talking, don't name a price at first ask them what their willing to pay, and go from there. They'll pay what it's worth more than likely.

yeh your right most of the dispenseries do have nothing but trash. and they get that crap for real cheap. many of them are now using microscopes and if they think your stuff was cut down to early thell offer less.

It's a state issued med card, pretty much the only way your gonna get into clubs. Do you have any med records of chronic pain ect? pm me!

The problem with vending to a lot of dispensaries imo is that they will pay 3800 for commercial crap and then usually want to pay the same or a few hundred more for the grade A organic headies. I think it is much better to bring clubs a variety of ounces and charge by the oz. It may sound greedy but it is insulting to get paid the same amount for your beloved headies that they pay for shitty work pot.

Funny how people complain about high prices at dispenseries. And also complain that the dipenseries dont pay high enough dollar to growers for herb. If a dispensary is paying $4800 for a pound, no wonder they are charging $20 a gram. $4000 for a pound of the best pot, is too much. Work should be going for $2000 lb, and medical grade organics should go for $3200 lb. Then the dispensary's could charge $10-$12 a gram. And more dispensary's should grow there own, than they would make a better profit.

Growers are gonna have to lower their prices soon. Ecspecially caregivers who are doing it legally for patients. In a year or two, there will be twice as many growers in Co, and twice as much medecine. $200 an ounce if plenty.

I cant wait till i can afford to smoke.

With only a few clubs statewide though I'd imagine that makes it basically impossible to move any weight around.

When you are talking in terms of a completely legal, risk free market, I'd support a lowering of 15 percent to start. I'm sure that will happen by itself. But 2 grand a pound? Dude have you looked into what it takes to start a sizable operation? I'm just getting started and I've dropped 15 grand-this is with over a years worth of research, bargain hunting, buying used equipment, etc. Not to mention electricity-some guys here pay 2 grand a month for lights!

I like your range for outdoor stuff from good genetics that require a little soil and some clean water, but for serious, indoor, organic sativa's that take 12-14 weeks to flower and produce a straight psychedelic high? 3200? Coupled with the fact that at any moment the sheriff could come in and "create" a problem with my grow(then I'm facing a dime in state prison), or worse, feds stop in? (doubtful but who knows?) Then I'm facing federal prison? 3200?

Please, dude.

:yeahthats

It's not that I want to be paid a ridiculous amount for pounds, it is the difference in price that gets me. Lets say they pay 4600 for work and 4800 for A+. I'm still pissed. Think about wine. Sure there are $4 bottles to be had, and also $250. Do you think that a liquor store pays anywhere close to the same amount for those two bottles?

The difference in quality is worth MUCH more than $200 pound. And if dispensaries have different prices for different grades of medicine (which most do) then it is no problem to pay way more. A $5000 pound sold at $15 a gram is still making more money ($1720 profit before tax) for dispensaries than buying at $3800 and selling for $12 which would be $1576 before tax.

Most dispensaries have several different grades of medicine anyways and in my experience are trying to buy pounds at 3800 and then sell them for $15-$20 a gram. at $20 even if it is for non members it is a profit of $5160 per pound! Is that fair for the grower who painstakingly took care of a great garden and invested a mountain of money making sure their shit was on point? NO FUCKING WAY.

As far as selling smaller pieces. There are more than just a few dispensaries around colorado. There are new ones opening almost everyday. Bringing a single dispensary 8 ounces of four different flavors is way more appealing to dispensary owners than bringing them a pound of one flavor. If one were to want to get rid of multiple pounds all it would take would be visiting 5-6 dispensaries in a day and there ya go, 3 pounds gone. I personally don't take much less than $300/z. because I'm greedy? no. Because it's worth it.

The problem with the quality of herb in dispensaries is not that there isn't good herb around. The problem is that dispensaries aren't getting any of it because they are insulting the caregivers that are trying to vend to them by offering 3800 pound. Get real.

And J-fly. So you want the growers who take all the risk and put all the time in to take the hit so you can smoke for cheap?! Says a lot about you already. What is really funny is that there are so many people who think this whole thing is a fucking charity. The fact is that it takes A LOT of time, money, interest, and worrying to pull off a crop big enough to vend enough to dispensaries. $2000/lb this isn't humboldt..... in may.:bashhead:

Hell yeah, great posts movingtocally and selfhemployed! I'm all for lower prices, but I do believe in paying for quality, the old "you get what you pay for" mode of thinking. People like jfly want their herb handed to them like this is a charity, SORRY, go buy some schwagg if you don't want to pay for quality. Some people DO get charity, because they both need it financially and DESERVE it, but the majority CAN pay, and SHOULD. Someone who took painstaking care to make sure their shit is totally on point deserves to be compensated for their time, nutrients, space, investment in equipment, etc, IMHO. Flame suit ON! :D

Ease back man. I was just pointing out the irony on this site. People complain about dispensary prices being to high, then complain that the dispensaries dont pay growers enough for weed. If you dont see the irony, you are blind.

I dont want growers to take any risk, and as long as they have their cards, and follow the limits, they arent taking any risk. I just dont think that a plant, should cost as much or more than gold.

I want weed to be cheap for everyone, and for growers to be able to grow freely without worry. I think a lot of growers have been making a tax free fortune, and dont want to see prices come down , or legal weed, because they will actually make less money, or have to get a real job.

I used to get work for $2500 all day. I was moving 50 pounds a week.
Now that it is legal, and there is less worrying, prices should drop. Why should growers get the same money for medicinal, as they did when it was illegal?

I just want to be able to smoke what i want to smoke without having to spend $800 a month on a plant, which is more than my rent.

I want growers to grow legally without consequence. I know how much time and effort it takes to grow. I have been busted, done probation, and paid my dues. I just wanna smoke, without going broke, or to jail.

The answer is simple then: Grow your own. What you feel anothers stuff is worth and what THEY feel it's worth are two different things. Grow your own, then you can sell quantities for your idealistic prices, or smoke what you want and not have to pay what you feel is an unfair price. You seem to have a beef with growers, from the "have to get a real job" comment. Sad because you can't grow effectively enough or whats the deal? No need to hate on others that are getting theirs, maybe instead of hating you should be getting yours. Just my :2cents:

Ouch. If you knew me, you would know that i am that last person asking for charity. I bust my ass at work, and have always been a hard worker. I have been paying $300 an oz for organic sour diesel and durban for 5 years. I figured now the medical industry in Colorado is booming, and there are tons of LEGAL growers out there, that prices would drop. I spend around $600 a month on medecine, thats almost as much as my rent. I could easily smoke twice that too.

The problem with most dispensaries is that they dont grow their own. You shouldnt even have a dispensary if you dont grow a lot of good medecine. And caregivers growing legally for patients shouldnt charge $300 an oz. Thats what i was paying before i got my card. If i was buying a pound of weed, i would want a good break too. 4k doesnt sound low at all, even for the best organic strains of medicine. 4k is a lot of cash to spend at once. I work at a fast food restaurant and we dont even spend 4k a week on food right now. We usually charge 3 to 4 times what we pay for food. If a large pizza costs $2.00 in food, we sell it for $10.00. That is what a dispensary that doesnt grow their own would need to do if they want to make a profit.

Marijuana is about to be completely legal. I never thought i would see that happen in my lifetime, but right now, i believe it will. Then it shouldnt cost anymore than any other plant or vegetable. I cant wait until i have the space to grow my own. After having a felony conviction for distribution of marijuana, i didnt think i would ever want to risk growing. Now, 5 years later, i got my medical card, and the felony is dropped off my record. I cant wait untill i have the space to grow my own medicine legally. Then i can just trade it with my friends, or sell them quarters for $50 like the good ol days.

Just took a huge hit of Sour D. Love that shit. Would definatley pay $20 a gram if i had too. But it would be much better to pay $5 a gram, and be able to smoke joints. I cant afford to smoke $10 or $20 joints. I could smoke 3 a day. Thats why i sold weed my whole life since i was 15, so i could afford to smoke it. Ha! Now i got my card, i shouldnt have to pay more.

Sorry if that came off wrong. I would never disrespect growers. You guys are angels, and i mean that. I am just bitter at having to work a real job right now. Im just burned out on managing a pizza place. I know that many growers have risked their freedom, just like i did , when i got busted. You are right about getting mine.

I really just wish i could afford to smoke, instead of being broke all the time, busting my ass at a "real" job. I love growers, and hope to have the priviledge to be one myself one day.

peace . ive learned a lot about the growers perspective from this conversation.

I see how it would be ironic if it were the same people complaining about both ends, but really, you've got a group of producers that complain about the prices the dispensaries pay because they want more money, and a group of leeches and ignorati who want to pay practically nothing complain about the retail prices charged.
