We have one local boy walking the donkey around in a circle turning the generator..

Direct conversion of green to electrical with compost to spare.

Bahaha, does the donkey help "dispose" of your stems and fans? ;)

Oh just a heads up.. these smart meters can tell on us.. They make sure we pay higher rates if we use more than allowed under some conditions and certain times.. The Electric police are here...

Though this is true, PG&E doesn't really care as long as you pay your bill (I'll get back to that in a moment.) The flip side is because you can pay less for your power at night, sometimes lots less, the bill becomes much more reasonable as long as you curtail usage during the day.

A buddy had the PG&E meter reader come by last month, and his lights hadn't turned off yet (11-11) He said "looks like you're runnin about 5KW eh? THat's cool, I have about 7KW at home." He went on to explain that PG&E just wants your money and for you to not steal power, but they want you to use as much of their "product" as you can.
They do not care about growers until they get a warrant from the cops, until then we're some of their best customers!

Funny havent been here in a couple days and this is the reason I got on was to find out in CO. My landlord pays bill with a limitation of $300 before he charges us back. That figure is split between our 3 bed side and the neighbors 2 bed, Im currently running 2000w, 4 t8s and was wondering how far over I was going to go with that. I dont get the bill so Im clueless on numbers, and w 1000w and the 4 t8's he said it was way under. Just added the other 1000w, and want to add a 3rd, so after all said and done ill have 1000w in veg and 2000w in flower, along w the t8's for clones...
Thanks thus far, any extra info would is always appreciated...

You don't get the power bill in your name? Then it is only a matter of time before the landlord comes knocking to find out why his bill is always so high. Tick tick tick tock, MOVE! Never grow where you don't control the power bill, ever.

I create all of my own Electricity using a 10 hp electric motor and a 12 volt/440amp
generator linked into a 440amp charge controller for a 3200AH battery bank that
feeds 2-5k inverters.
In oter words, I dont pay shit.

14 cent a Kwh that's a euro cent .

A nice'n'simple explination
"One kilowatt hour is the amount of energy expended or dissipated if work is done at a constant rate of one thousand watts for one hour. Mmm. . . O.K., let’s take an example because I am still confused.

Let’s take a heater that is rated at 1000 watts and plug it in for an hour, the energy it uses in that hour is equal to one kilowatt hour

Any of you guys in a commercial space? Seems that the rates then would be fixed in around 15 cents/kwh.

Lazyman, any changes in the last year regarding PG&E's stance? Is it still, "use as much as you want just so long as you pay"?

Krunchbubble has mentioned he's had a few homes at 20k+.... This begs the question, "Does PG&E have a trigger usage amount where they begin to get nervous and alert LEO?"

Thanks!

Nope, PGe doesn't care a whit what you use their power for, a friend of mine even had a meter reader say "whatcha got, 7 lights? I run 5 at home."

My bill is $3800 a month now, and not a peep out of PGE. As long as they're paid they are happy, end of story. Other power companies may play games, but 3 different PGE cust. service reps have told me "we don't care what your usage is or what its used for, just pay your bill!"

10 cents / KW during day, off peak hours it drops to 8.5 cents / KW.

My bills really aren't all that high. I'm not running anything close to a commercial size setup. Just enough to satisfy my hobby.

I'm on the edge. Of what I'm not sure.

Amen too that brother......I don't worry too much about the utility company......Just stay clear of MRS. Caljim if the money is not there to pay the bills.:Bolt:

Seriously though, the utility company just wants your money.

12 x 600w = 1000-1500 every 3 months is what I hear. Gotta love BC, they average out your power usage though which is annoying if you take the summer off or shutdown for a month or two. My buddy run's two rooms of 10 600's on a flip and pays about the same, I wonder how accurate the meters are sometimes.

hours running *watts used / 1000 *price kwh* 30 days

for example a 600 watt running 12/12 at 8 cents hour

12 * 600 /1000 *.08 * 30 = $17.28

Gotta love PG&E!! About to sign up for CARE too. Times are hard these days

Say 1000w bulb @ 12/12 = 12kilowatts

12kw x 30 days = 360kw per month

360kw/m x .05c = $18.00 per month + appx 10% to power ballast

1000w should be $20/mo give or take.

Highest bill I've heard of was 1400/mo (not me) & apparently he had no issues... paid his bill & got the odd look from the payment person, but that is all he ever told me about. Crazy imho...

my 1KW's are running almost 180$/month ... @ .35c a KWH.

sooo. about 1800-2200 with this 116F heat im battleing9-11Kw +15kbtu ac/ 8k btu ac/ 5kbtu ac...
