I missed the first showing but I am going to watch it at ten. This summer we were flown by a chopper with cameras on it and we heard a rumor that it was a documentary filming crew. They were flying lower than the camp chopper does. Very disrespectful.

It was awful, if you missed it you're lucky. Pure scare-mongering propaganda.

Every "problem" shown in the program was caused by prohibition.

Most of those Doc seem to make it look bad. I had a discussion about MMJ with my dad today and he is very old school where pot is the devil weed lol I tried to educate him but people from his generation will never feel that pot is good. He just would not listen to any of my facts and considered everyone that uses pot a bunch of dopers. Its unfortunate that people just wont listen.

i think the older generations have a problem with the blessed ganja b/c of many factors, but one big one is the movie reefer madness

seriously - go rent this movie if you haven't seen it. it makes smoking weed seem like it's as bad as shooting up heroin. tsk tsk :noway:
don't forget about the previous generations bumbling cotton tycoons who wanted to keep hemp from getting popular to ensure their profits - i can see things turning for the better in the future though b/c more people are waking up to an organic lifestyle as opposed to a synthetic one
:fsu:
there was also the race card back in history being played as many were racist against cubans and hispanics who were bringing in most of the sweet herb back then *bless their hearts*

Thanks for posting this Thundurkel. BTW a replay is on at 1:00 AM.

(side note: this is one thing I hate about certain channels and HD TV. If you turn on HD A&E this show is not on but when you tune into the regular def A&E that's where the show is. Even A&E's website doesn't list this show at this time).

After watching this, all I can say is that if I rented a house to someone and they destroyed my life savings by destroyng the house as a grow then I think I would have to hunt them down and well, we'll just leave it to our imagination what would happen next.

watched the whole thing.

it was slanted against marijuana. i think the most important point was made that Arcata is going to become a ghost town like so many before once it's legalized. it will be like what happened to old mining towns. the economy is too heavily dependent on it. it's not sustainable if it's legalized next year. hmmmmmn.

it was propaganda considering the property owners have a right to file civil charges and to collect damages so it's not like they are without recourse.

Yea those damn darkies were raping our white women don't you know? hahaha fucking ridiculous that people even believed it!!! Wow what a lil show though huh? I mean you do have to feel bad for those poor property owners who's houses get totally trashed from grows. Now I have a solution for this problem too I say since the problem isn't going to go away they should regulate the way your grow is set up. Don't bitch yet I only mean like if you are going to do indoor you HAVE to use a Secret Jardin or Grow Lab tent not just those brands but you get the point. I say that because it's a self contained grow room and as long as you vent the air out side of the house then I don't think those nice lil houses would get all fucked up like that. Also the dude who started carrying a pistol because the cops told him to arm himself just because they find loaded guns in grow houses?? Come on what fucking grower is going to jeprodize his spot by shooting a citizen?? I understand where the guy is coming from since his house has been broke into by idiots looking to rob a grow house but to be nervous like he is about stoners is a bit much. Now the fire issue comes to play and what I have to say on this is now that it's OFFICIALLY been passed that the feds can't mess with med growers and it's whatever the state says, then maybe electricians should be sent out to grow houses to inspect wiring ect... Say if you don't fix the "electric problems" that could lead to fire your grow is shut down for 6months do it twice and it's year 3rd time you loose you license to grow... There was alot of things that were sad to see though and I'm sure most of what those irritated neighbors had to say was true and I only say this cuz I see how much MMJ has blown up in Sacramento and how many of my friends are all of a sudden growing so up there I can only imagine. Dude meter was fucking SWINGING haha but yea I'm tired of typing what all did everyone else think of the show???

why dont' they take them to small claims court if the damages exceed security deposit. you can't claim they are big time pot farmers and poor also. they showed id to get the place. does everyone who grows in humboldt skip town afterwards destroying the house? these people are just pissed off about the town being overrun by growers. that in itself is understandable.

But that's the problem. A lot of those growers in that show weren't "stoners" by any means, just straight greedy people that don't care about others around them.

They give a bad name to us decent "stoners".

I watched it and I have to say it was well done for a documentary that
was going to be very one sided to begin with. The issues were real and
the proof was caught on film, homes destroyed, power thefts/damages,
use/destruction of public lands etc. There was more than 30 seconds of
pro-cannabis chatter but this show wasn't about those issues so there's
no focus at all in that direction. The city or township meeting where local
legal issues were discussed showed the support of prop 215 by the board.

The focus was on illegal growers still and not compliant medicinal users.

All together it left most every issue unresolved and no firm game plan imo.

Not too bad in the 'propaganda feeling' department although its obvious
direction was against cannabis the attempts to put some of the blame
on medicinal mj was met with some pro cannabis rhetoric by advocates.

Worth watching but certainly not worth getting your knickers in a twist over.......
