Beautiful Demian :)

As charlie said, some panama expressions could be a little bit leafy, specially when grown out of season, but you are doing a great work with panama genetics, flowers look real impressive: resinous, colorful and potent. I can taste her from here! thanks for posting. dubi

My Panama experience

My Panama experience

OK so I'm back to report what happened with my four Panamas.

Well to start off I got one female and three males.

I made a pollen mix with the three males and later used that to pollinate a smaller branch of the female with a q-tip. Though to be honest most of the pollen was probably from the earlier two males. Eventually ended up getting 69 mature seeds which actually was a bit less than I was expecting. Maybe too much of the pollen got stuck in the q-tip. Will have to try a different pollinating tool next time.

The female was grown (LST style) in soil under a 250W HPS and yielded just under 100 grams dry weight. Based on my previous experience with this system this is a very good yield for a single plant. Had I been growing only Panama, instead of a couple of lower yielding strains along with it, I imagine getting a yield of over 1 g/W should have been accomplishable. Therefore the strain really is comparable to modern indoor hybrids in the yield department.

The plant was very resinous with buds and even some of the leaves covered with big resin glands. What I also found interesting was that it started putting on that resin quite early. Not that the plant really took that long to flower anyway really as this girl was taken down after slightly over 10 weeks after the first pistils (11 weeks of 12/12).

For the most part the plant was very vigorous (as were the males) and even handled short periods of high temperatures during early flowering without any noticeable problems. However, during the last few weeks of flowering the stems were no longer strong enough to carry the buds and needed support.

The high is quite strong but still pleasant and should be suitable for most people. Although it's my understanding that this is a sativa strain it isn't the speedy kind of sativa... you aren't very active under the influence and won't have trouble sleeping either.

Based on my experience, I would recommend Panama to any grower. Especially at this price. ACE Seeds rocks.

Finally, here's a picture of a dry Panama bud:

Thanks for the comments De La Luz, gkn and Ras Pablo!

I have no idea why my post fell below your responses though. I did not even edit the message (nor did anyone else based on the text). Must have been some glitch in the ICMag software that changed the post date or something. Weird.

Btw it seems like the seeds turned out ok. :woohoo: Gave some to friend and he has already popped a few with success.. Hope the plants they turn into will be as good as their mom.

Thanks a lot for the feedback love? :) (why not love without '?', just joking ...)

Flower you have posted is real representative of the last panama generation: dense resinous flowers with earthy lemony aromas, it's a very potent sativa, not so clear or speedy (we have other sativas in our catalogue that would work on this way) but without any doubt panama represents the great, dense long lasting and psychoactive effects that best red colombian sativas can offer, but as you commented it's a very high yielding strain (and more thinking it's completly sativa and has been inbred for 4-5 generations), flowering time and indoor adaptability is on the level of the modern indoor needs.

Im glad you have produced your own seeds, im sure youll be very pleased germinating more of our original panama seeds and of course in the new ones too.

Hello grandsrin

Panama is becoming one of our most legendary strains, sure it has a powerful dense and complex effect, not many smokers tolerate to mix panama smoking with alcohol drinking.

love? - Excellent review! I hope you dig through your new seeds.

dubi - Congrats on panama. I'd say it is legendary for sure. I am in a f'in tiny cab and panama rules most. I've have had a heck of a time finding females, but I finally got my second one from some home in-crosses. I have sexed 15 plants and only had 2 females. Yikes. I have had 5+ females from my own out-crosses. So I know panama mostly from her out-crosses. Any who...based on what I have grown and seen, panama is a wonderful thing to grow. I really get a lovely floral-lemon that she has added to my crosses. My current mom stinks. I think the smell is stronger than my haze dom. This gal was directly under my new bulb and she turned very dark purple from the exposure.(?) I also think the flowers look a bit different. The first lady had stringy flowers like a bunch of small braids.

my second female. the pics are hdr images.
