I am going to start a side by side grow of the same strain (local unidentified indica dominant strain), using organic and inorganic fertz. I'm going to use GH flora 3 part or the Canna 2 part and i'm still deciding what to use for the organic side of things.
I was thinking of using FloraNova by GH as it is available here....what do u guys think of it? should i try something else?
I'm going to use a mix of organic coir ,vermiculite, perlite, for both grows.
600w hps with aircooled hoods
Co2 via fermentation with co2 monitor.

i wouldnt think GH Floranova would be my choice for organics.

have you thought about using LC's or Subcools soil? that is what i consider organics.

btw, i have Floranova that was used in my dwc but it stays on the shelf b/c im using Subcools soil mix.

Sorry, i scanned over the title and you stated "Liquid Organic Nutes". the mix i use has the dry ferts, bone meal, blood meal, kelp meal.

good luck and ill be seeing how things grow.

is floranova "organic" ? I like bio-canna for liquid nutes.

but if your doing coco, you need to know coco's properties. I say no to coco, but there are alot that say yes. i suggest to start out using peat, then transition to coco, as coco can give people some hard times when least expected..

i would go with compost tea. i'm not growing at this time, but i only used tea, and i used it every watering. i used 2cups WC, about 1cup of composted cow manure, a dash of blood, bone and kelp meal and a healthy dose of molasses maybe a half a cup, didnt really measure, in 5 gallons of water and bubbled it for a day or 2 and my plants loved it.

I've been using Alaska Fish Emulsion during veg and the first week or two of flowering and then switching to Earth Juice Bloom for a majority of flowering. I'll feed my girls molasses during the last two weeks of flowering and cut out the EJ. It's simple, cheap, and works well for me.

There is a company who sells bottles of true organic tea consisting of bat/bird guano, worm castings, molasses etc. on ebay. It's sold by a mom and pop business who call themselves blue mountain organics. They make a grow and a bloom as well as an organic tonic additive. All 3 are very good quality products and priced reasonably. A google search termed, "grow it green ebay" brought up the link for me just now. Good luck.

hi there, i am about to place my order for some new nutrients and am making the transition to organics. im planing on going with.......pureblendpro-grow, puravida-bloom, jamaicanbatgauno(for flowering), earthjuice-meta k . is this a decent organics line-up??

thanks and be well,

I went with purvian guano, jamaican guano, and mexican guano for my teas, add a little earth worm castings / kelp / liquid karma and you're plants will love you. buy some beneficial bacteria too..

all the recipes for the teas are in the organics for beginners thread, customize them to optimize your grow.

I plan on doing this as well... I am going to be using 3 plants for each different nute regiment.

The first bunch will be the whole Roots Organic Line. The second will be homemade guano teas. The third will be the Fox Farm line, I see interesting results from the FF line. I might do a fourth with some kind of straight chemical nute line, any suggestions?

The experiment will be with clones taken off the same mother plant. I'm pretty stoked to see what happens!

Forget the liquid ferts ...

Forget the liquid ferts ...

If you're going to use that combo of mediums, you can add One dry organic ingredient and then just add water. No need for anything else.

Go to Home Depot or similar big box / garden store and get a 40 lb bag of Milorganite. It's completely organic and makes plants grow like crazy.

For a 5 gallon bucket, place the pearlite and vermiculite in a bucket with holes in the bottom and pour a gallon or so of water through it. Then pour it out onto a tarp and mix it back and forth. The wet particles will distribute themselves evenly, which they Don't do when mixed dry.

Then slowly add four cups of Milorganite, and mix again in the tarp. Add the Coir, and mix again.

Put it in the bucket, plant the clone/start, and water as needed.

An occasional hit of liquid seaweed, and/or dilute molasses, could be used if you think it'll help ... but that's about all.

Good luck.

Hey thanks for that mixing tip! I always have a hard time mixing perlite and vermiculite.

Milorganite... Biosolids, eh? So people guano. I'd like to know more. Are you using it now?

For short harvested indoor crops, I find it hard to find an organic that is available as any salt-based nute, and after a couple of side by side runs, I'm ditching organics indoors.

I did GH 3 part vs Floranova my first run in coco, and AN Sensi 2 part vs Pura Vida organics the second run. The salt based nutes yielded better both times, and quality was not diminished. The organic stuff smells a little stronger when fresh cut, but after they're cured you can't tell them apart.

Biggest difference in the end, my wallet was a lot lighter with organics and I had less product at the end to make up for it.

Lose/Lose for me. Your mileage may vary.
