ROF....well it wasn't quite that blunt!! Thats right where I live, and have my whole life, the sign useta say..

"WELCOME TO OREGON.....THANKS FOR VISITING"

We didn't really want the influx of flat-landers, or Californians as most know them!!

.....they came anyway, drove up all the house prices, closed all the lumber industry, most everyone I know and grew up with had to split, couldn't afford living here anymore....Tom McCall saw into the future, to bad the rest didn't follow!!

Well, my wife agreed to visit this spring/summer, and take a look at a few cities. Does anyone still refer to Southern Oregon as the State of Jefferson? In any case, I think Jefferson would be proud of your greenhouse there Sportster.

I moved out here a few years ago from the midwest. I think the unemployement rate is slowly turning around. I think OR has good MMJ laws here. True we don't have any dispen's, but we are allowed to grow our own and that IMO is 100 percent better than paying money for something someone else has grown out. I only see the MMJ laws here becoming more and more liberal in the coming years.

I don't plan on moving anywhere soon.

I love the Oregon dunes. One of the funnest most beautiful places on earth. Of course you need some fast toys to really enjoy it but it is great. The towns along the coast are pretty depressed and tweeky but the dunes are a must see. Can't wait till harvest is over and I can get up there. I have a family member that moved to Portland last fall from here and has been looking unsuccessfully for a job this whole time. She is currently helping me with my harvest.

Actually...The State of Jefferson in NorCal, we really don't have much say in that, however some of the "newer" locals have dubed this area as part of that...In all reality if memory serves me, and sometimes lately it does :bis: The State of Jefferson was created by NorCal residents that lived from like Sacto north...maybe Redding, I can't really remember the exact local, none the less, they wanted to be separated from the BIG CITY decisions that effected even the most northern Calif villages....like say Happy Camp, or Weed Calif...they weren't and are NOT treated fairly when it comes to state laws and taxes, which are mostly designed for the bigger metro areas, such as LA, or SF...folks in Forks of the Salmon have to pay and live by the same stupid ass laws and taxes...OH!!! and its still a very serious, serious issue in those parts.... :dueling:

So, its a Cali thang actually....we here in ORYGUN are pretty happy for the most part, the way things are ran here!!!.. FOR THE MOST PART I SAID :cuss:

Manufacturing any amount of marijuana is a very serious offense. 'Manufacturing' means growing even one plant and packaging, repackaging, labeling or relabeling marijuana. Manufacturing marijuana is a class A felony punishable by a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
Knowingly maintaining, visiting or even staying at a place where people are using, storing, or selling marijuana is a class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine. However, if the amount of marijuana is one ounce or less, and it is just kept or used on the premises, the fine is $100 and not a criminal conviction.

Yeah, as I said...there are some here who want to think its a Jefferson State here in So Oregon, but really...we don't get into all that much!!

here is what I got from another link..

Representatives from the mountain border counties involved met in Yreka, CA on November 17, 1941 to form an alliance to obtain federal aid for the construction and repair of bridges and roads. The Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors voted to allocate $100 to research the possibility of seceding from the state of California and joining the other counties to form a new 49th state. The Yreka Chamber of Commerce was very instrumental in persuading the Board.

See, Siskiyou County in NorCal...most all this pertains to them for the most part, wouldn't benefit Orygun at all!!!

I actually remember a sign that was put near the summit that read.."Welcome to Oregon! Your California dollars exchanged at a reasonable rate" (or something to that effect)

Us Floridians are much too busy fishing or swimming at the beach to concern us with stuff like that lol.Seriously up until april of this year we had some pretty decent growing laws here. Now you really dont want more than 24 at a time.Perpetual grows are a thing of the past I keep telling myself. Then I find myself with 50 again lol

I married one too lol

Wasn't there another push in the 80's for a N. Cali/S. Cali split?
From what I remember, it was mostly over the N getting sucked dry by the taxes from S Cali problems & population?
The same still happening here, the rural counties get hosed by the PDX/tri county area. They can damn near carry an election :(

I grew up on the rainy side of the Cascades, in the high dry desert now & I won't be goin back! I work thru an internet jack, so I can live where I want ;)
Beautiful place, mtns, bigsky, 4 real seasons, world class recreation. I can hunt, fish, ski or sail within a .5 hr ;)

Any moving here should check out Bend, OR.
