Hi and respect to those few who don't vegetate :)

Hey Mycro...I had an accidental pollination grow before last...one DP 'flo' hermied and seeded the tent to a moderate degree (~ hundred seeds)

Last grow I sprouted 36 of the seeds, 12/12 all the way....all 36 were female! No nanners at all!!; matured quite late too (~20% amber). the grow consisted of-

floxflo
BubbleGumxflo
Himalayan goldxflo

Gave a lovely selection :smoker:

This is my (one and) only experience with 'hermie' produced seeds. YMMV who knows!

Got more to try inc. some wwxflo, NLxflo

Grow on!

Now that is good news! I just checked them but none have cracked yet. I wish I had "real" seeds lol

Has anyone compared smoke reports from the same cut grown 12/12 versus grown with a vegging period? Does growing 12/12 from seed produce a more sativa like smoke? The flowering period is longer using this technique because the plant is vegging at the same time. This is how a sativa grows.

i've noticed to get best results you got to use strains with at least some sativa in them. for eg. a white russian gets to a nice size under 12/12 even though its indica dom, coz it still has some sat in it. however mazar x master kush doesnt get big at all. must be the hindu kush influences and there is no sat in this line.

i've smoked from a plant i've grown with some veg, and from clones of the same plant with no veg, and i can say some things, like buds form different, more elongated, smaller and fluffier. potency is the same if not better, i think this is due to the longer flowering period? maybe? its only 1 experiment though, im sure results will vary in other peoples grows. many people say that there is are characteristics that long vegged matured plants will give that early flowered clones cant give, but not in my little experiment so far.

Hi all,
2 days ago i put 2 Power plant 1 skun and 2 taiga and already they are about 2-3cm. They are following 18/6 light since yesterday. Is already too late to try the "12/12 way of growing"? If i decide to let them veg for a week or 10 days would i get something comparable to this 12/12? Becouse i had to repot right after germination so i prefer to let them some tome to set up in the new pot b4 flowering :)
This is my first experience ever, is this somekind of an "advanced technic" or it just goes as the regular cicle? Do you think i can try?

Thanks

No, its not too late, you can flip whenever you want....

...having said that this method, ie no veg photoperiod, is best suited to SoG style growing, with high density planting, imo. I had 36 under a 400w hps (all female seeds) -36 'budsicles' with insignificant side branching. With few plants, yield will be fairly small.

Weedlife, by putting your plants into 12/12 it will start the flowering cycle.

The reason for the 12/12 from seed is to have a no vegetation period, thus keeping the plants shorter and your able to have an awesome perpetual harvest going.

hey, ive read most of this thread and ive decided im going to try this method! this will be my third grow . My first two grows were autos , disel ryder and easy ryders, which turned out pretty decent. well no that good i only used 3x 20 watt cfls, but still .

well this time i bought my self a 200 watt envirolite (2700k) for the whole thing. wil this be ok?

seed wise, i have got 1 fem pineapple express, 1 fem hawaiian skunk , 1 fem k-train.

Also i have a blue cheese clone (from a friend) ......i have no idea if i should chuck it into 12/12 or what?.

ill be using canna coco with canna nutes.

many thanks , ill appriciate all the help i can get :)

When the time comes to start using nutrients in a hydro system, should I use a "Bloom" formula from the start of wait until they start to noticeably flower and use a "Grow" formula until that point?

Edit: Found my answer, use bloom upon first sighting of pistils :)

well, been 32 days and I have 3 footers, expecting an ounce dried off each plant. I think the negative comments I saw about this method are a joke now.

my conclusion: if you fail at this, you picked the wrong strain (I'm running a 50/50 sativa/indica) or you fail at growing.

Hey everyone! Recently I saw some threads where people who were growing 12/12 from seed started and finished their plants in 44oz cups. Their average yield was about 27g per plant. Has anyone else here had such success using such small containers? This sounds like it would be perfect for my setup! Thanks for any help you guys can offer!
