I'd also suggest a closed area like a cabinet or another box if you're growing in an apartment, since you can make exhausting simpler and keep it all concealed.

Ok I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and I am growing in the extra bedroom's closet. There is nothing in this room that they need to inspect or check. There are no lights and no plumbing. I am also doing storage bin grows as well, looks like a storage room. ;)

You are going to have to do a micro grow. I recommend looking in the micro grow forum and get some ideas of what is plausible in your situation. If you have closets then a plastic bin or 2 in your closet might do the trick. A pc case grow might work as well. Everyone pretty much told you everything else. Do not do hydro unless you know what you are doing! Its easier to vacuum dirt up than to have to deal with water damage.

why would. . .

why would. . .

What should be ones concerns when growing in a apartment?
Besides odor, and sound.

Im thinking fogging could be a problem.

Suggetions, advice anything that could help. :joint:

. . . "fogging" be a problem? better yet. . . .what the hell is fogging anyway?

Yeah any unexpected visit would suck. You'd be better off building a cab since you can customize it so much.

NUMBER ONE REASON PPL GET CAUGHT IN APT GROWS IS BECAUSE OF maintenance visits and/or unit inspections!! YOU ARE RENTING NOT OWNING SO THEY CAN WALK INTO YOUR APT ANY TIME. YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS AS A RENTER , THINK OF YOUR SELF AS A SLAVE OR A PEASANT:2cents:
FIX YOUR CREDIT AND BUY A FIXER UPPER IS THE WAY TO GO

Not when you get a new lock+security door.

Definitely check out the rules and laws in your state. If anything, build a grow box with wheels on it. Or get a wardrobe from IKEA and put wheels on that. When something goes wrong, you can just move it.

I'd go to the salvage army or goodwill store and find an old dresser or two and make some grow cabs out of them. They will look like just like any old dresser when in the room. If you have to move, they can be moved without arousing any suspicion. If set up properly, they can be quiet and smell free. If someone has to come spray for bugs or something, you can put a loud fan or something in the room to mask the slight humming coming from the cabs.

just my 2 cents.

that doesn't mean shit dude! if you live in a apt building there's always an leasing office therefor there's always grounds maintenance keepers , office workers and they know when you leave and come . they can come to your door in the mornings or late at night with an excuse to enter the apt.:2cents:

I never thought about a file cabinet, some of those are big. The tall ones could have two levels (top&bottom), and with that configuration that would provide 5 sq. ft (2.5/shelf) per cabinet. I don't think 2 side by side would look suspicious, even three or four wouldn't be out of the question.

I think he means condensation on the windows, which is considered by LEO to be one of the signs of a clandestine grow operation..

ive been caught by this during sexy time in vehicles...

what's to say it cant happen in your own bedroom:p

do they get to barge in on people porking due to condensation?

yea i just use the plain plastic. I imagine pond liner is thicker?

It feels just a little thicker than panda film, but it can most definitely hold more water better (It also is cut in a giant ass square, not strips, so leaks are less imminent.)

Be careful of some bulllllshit shops in CA that sell pond liner for tooo much (cough osh and ace cough)

I live on the 10th floor in LA. And im setting up a tent. I have 2 other people besides me that will vouch for this little 600 watt sog. (6 x 3)=18 plants. I have a strait fuck the police attitude right now (check my past posts lately).

You can get away with a med grow, i mean youll have ammo in court to fight with. But doing a commercial op in an apartment is like playing russian roulette. Sooner or later the bullet is going to be in that barrel.

Extra care is important when doing an apartment. and its not recomended. if you are not sure about the security than just gorila grow or find some one elses house.
I grow in my apartment. I dont live in a apartment complex building. rather its a large house that was converted to 3 separate compartments. Its in a very rich neighborhood that is extremely quiet with lots of old people living on the water.

Change your locks. its that simiple to make sure you dont get unannounced visits by people with keys. I did this since my landlord has a key..

Stay low key and freindly. My neighbor is much louder and rambunctious than I am. I guarantee no one knows IM growing.

Watch what you throw in the trash. I personally compost all of my scraps and cuttings and recycle my soil so I dont have to cart lots of suspicious looking pallets of soil. Also use a patio garden as a nice front to all that gardening stuff people see u lugging from your car. If u dont have the space for this then camouflage all gardening equipment you bring in. Or have ups deliver it to your door :D

Most importantly stealth. Incase people come over.. we have had maintenance people all over my house fixing things and we have a bug sprayer and none of them suspected a thing. The way we do it is we have a part of the apt that is in the far corner of the bed room that has a very narrow room that cant be used for much else besides storage.. then at the end of this narow room is a small closet.. well I blocked off this narow room with a false wall using black poly plastic and then a pretty shower curtain.. then I put a protable wardrobe in front of it.. Then another pretty showercurtain. its completely stealth it looks like there is just a little closet without doors that we put a portable wardrobe inside. you have to unzip the wardrobe and then find the secret doors to get to my veg room.. then the closet is the flower room. This is all in my bedroom so if i know there will be maintenance people I lock my bedroom off.

Right on Zealous- I also grow in an apt. 2400wts, but like you it isnt a complex in is what we call a 3 decker. basically 3 ranch style houses one on top of the other.

I am on the 3rd floor so am able to vent out windows since warm air rises its not much of an issue. my biggest security problrm is odor. I pull through carbon scrubbers and vent outside in summer. in winter i push through the scrubbers and use the heat generated to heat rest of apt.

so im not privy to what the inside of a 40year old apartment wall looks like, or if it's even viable, but here's the question, would it be safe to pump 400w spent exhaust into the wall from just above the baseboard...pointing up into the wall?

scrubbed of course.

I have a 8x8 tent in a condo I own. I have 2 600's and plan on adding another one during flowering.

I have no issues, ever.

Tents are beyond ideal for rental properties. I can take mine down or put it up in 5 minutes. And it comes with it's own handy carrying case....how ironic :joint:
