Does drying your buds on a surface reduce bag appeal?

I was wondering, since drying buds on their side supposedly makes one side flat, how much does this reduce bag appeal?

It depends on the type of bud, if it is a rock hard nugget it will not make much difference but a nice light Sativa type bud would lose more than it's bag appeal. I think the trouble with drying flat is that you don't leave on only one side, each day they are turned, and handled - again!, it all adds to broken trichomes and a loss in potency and flavour, leaving then on the stalk till it's ready to cure is far better, especially for buds intended to be stored a while.

Drying over 10 mm mesh is a good compromise with very little if any damage and no turning needed.

i think it reduces the bag appeal alot. I like my buds round, not flat. I pay 60 an 8th for good headies around here, if it was flat it would lower the price to like 30-40 an 8th.

Depends on the trim and how thick the buds are stacked. If they're not stacked on top of each other, only the bud leaves will be wrinkly. If all the sugar shake is trimmed, you won't have a problem.

Flat buds are not sexy. These racks do not make flat buds.

Those look like they are very dense nugs. I'm sure this plays a role in your nugs not being flat. But then again I've been looking into the drying nets and they are very similar to yours.

I'm curious about how light and airy buds or just slightly dense nugs would dry on these nets.

I have tried those drying nets and they do make buds flat. The fabric is much harder than the racks in my pics. I like my racks because you can collapse them onto the floor, grab both sides and flip it over and, voila, perfectly flipped buds. With the other drying nets you can't do that. You have to manually turn every bud every few hours or they will get flat.
Luckily I don't know how light, airy, or just slightly dense nugs would dry on these nets.:joint: Just kidding. They work great for everything. I just don't have any pics of airy weed on the racks.
