First grow

Hello to everybody here at IC.This is my first attempt at growing beans.I would like to start by saying any and all input is very much welcome.I have read alot of info on this site befor i started like all first timers do.My set-up is very,very getto.Home made ed&flo system with a 18 gallon tot rez.I have a aquarium air pump set up to keep air in my rez.Lights are 400 mh for veg and flowering im puting up a 150hps and a couple of 100w cfls full spectrum.Nutes are general hydroponics maxigro,maxicrop plus iron liquified seaweed,calcium/magnesium plus and plantation blackstrap molasses.Grow medium is hydroton and coco.Beans are pure afghan,widow skunk and ingemar's punch.Like all noobs when my beans first showed life i over everything and burned them so i flushed them and started slower.MJ is a tough plant.Germ to many beans and lost about a third of them another noobs mistake.A little side note:I played around with bag beans befor and i would put down 50 beans and 20 will pop up so when i got my quaility beans i thought the same so i germ all 34 and 30 sprouted.oh sh#t where am i going to put all these.You get the ideal.I veg with a 18/6 for 28 days and now they are on a 12/12 with bloom nutes.Bloom nutes are the same as above i just switch from maxigro to maxibloom and bonide blossom set spray.

Looks like your off to a good start! Just take it slow when adding nutes at first!

I personally don't like to add Molassas to my rez...GH has a product that's made specificaly for hydro it's called Diamond Necter, it has formic acid amoung other things that targets nutrients to break them down into smaller pieces to be readly absorbed by your plants and a quart is only around 9-14 bucks. Save the Molassas for soil grows or outdoors!

I got 4 females out of what i have growing.Being a noobie i stressed my plants from the start.As seeds i germ too many and had no where to put them all.I got about 90% germ rate out of 32 beans. I was not set up for that. I was set up for about 10 beans at the most. So out of the 20 or so beans i had germ about 15 or so came up.I started full strength nutes the first week of their life. Another noobie F**K up.Lost about eight babies. But out of all that, i have learned alot. From nute burn to nute lock out to heat shock,i think i seen just about all. I even had one plant get stock rott from leting the water rise to high in the rez. Grow and learn. I have yet to have any pests problems or root problems.I did bug bomb the room 2 weeks befor i started. I have now started to flower my girls. They have been on 12/12 for about 14-17 days.The widow and the punch are buding quick,but the afghan is taking her sweet time. I guess i owe that to her for what i put them thru. what

Coming to the end of my first grow.The experience is priceless.I veg for 26 days and some were 18-22 inches tall which was too long for my space...................my plants grew into my lights..................i had to top one.by the way i veg with a 400watt mh........i startedmy flowering on 12/12 the first 14-16 days. my pure afghan was not showing sex yet so i put them in 11/13 and a week of that they showed............i stayed with 11/13 for another week,and then i put them in 10/14 the last weeks of flowering.................................
