goin from root stage(clones)immediately to 12/12 with lc's soiless mix

any of you fellers have any experience at that?..in another month, it'll be wintertime where i'm at, so i'm goin inside, under fluoros.. think what i'm runnin is northern lights thats supposed to finish in 6-8 wks....mix =peat, compost and manure, lime, bone, blood, and kelp meal, with perlite for drainage..any suggestions?

went ahead and put 2 clones in the lc's mix with recipe #1 for food source..this is 3rd day and one is lookin good with the other just so so..if 1 of the 2 live it'll be worth it in the future..would be fantastic if i could just take clones, put them in that mix and i'll lay back in this recliner and watched football.hehehe..also,i went 50% mix,25% perlite and 25% peat in the cups.....i've learned a lot from you fellers.maybe you all will learn somethin from me..buuut,as many plants as i've killed it's doubtful..it's all good.if these die,i'll just take a couple more cuttings.. most importantly, either way, i will have learned somethin ..

hi cc it's certainly possible to do this (presuming you root them under 24/0 or 16/8 but imo you would be better to veg them even if only for a week. people may disagree with me but i think you will get a better yield and potency. NL isnt very stretchy anyway so you may find you have room to veg them a little.

either way let us know how it goes :)

I have to agree with Verdant, N.L is a short plant, I would not expect much more than a 12/14" popsickle, far better to give it a week or more before the flip, if you had a Sativa based plant then I would say it's ideal but not for N.L.

vg,thats exactly what i wound up doin.plants just didnt look strong enough..anyhoo,i've just got em in small cups and if they die i'll throw em out and do some more cuttin..buuut,they are lookin much stronger today..everybody was sayin that lc's mix was too strong for just rooted clones and i just wanted to be sure before i made up another batch..

a friend gave me some nl clones and thats exactly why they chose it.dont get too tall..they go straight to 12/12 and have a crop every 60 days..i have seen their setup, and its quite efficient.clockwork...only difference is they've been doin it for years and i'm a rookie....what strain of sativa do you think would work best at clone to 12/12?..

ive done arjans haze 3 and its not too tall. nice smooth sativa not racey.

update on clones..1st 2 i put in the mix are doin great and 3rd one is comin along..wasnt so sure about them at 1st.looked like they might have nute burn or somethin but are now just as green as can be..also had 1 with just a couple small roots, and it died.lesson learned..if the roots are there, they do fine in lc's mix..clones have been in soiless mix 9 days.

clones have been in medium for 3 weeks today, and couldnt be more pleased with the results..started them on molasses last week.glad i found this out on a small scale, because eventually,(if i can get cuttings to take root.havin one hell of a time with that aspect of my grow) i'm gonna take a bunch of cuttings off these after about 30 days in veg.right before i put them in 12/12...

oct 24,put 9 more rooted clones in the mix and they are lookin good. think it's because they were a gift from family member and had a lot of healthy lookin roots. dont know if i mentioned it but i also used pelletized lime in medium..

Watch out if you used pelletized lime unless you figured out how much it takes to equal the powdered. You may have underdone it.

..after checkin my clipboard,on this 1st batch i had a mixer and used powdered..the 2nd batch i used pellitized cause i broke mixer, but havent used it yet.. will need it when i put 1st clones in 12/12,within the week.any suggestions?

the 9 clones that i transplanted to cups on 24th,i had to put in bigger containers..thought they were a little droopy so i checked and cups were full of roots..healthiest lookin roots i've seen on any of my young plants. a pleasant surprise.

crush the peletized lime into a powder before you add it to your soil.
