the only problems is you will hace ZERO control over how you are represented and who knows the quality and context of the rest of the story and how you will be perceived. it depends on how well you know the subject of the documentary. if you're in canada and the cops already been to your place then who cares.
MORE IMPORTANTLY: I would get some cut or percentage of the GROSS. I work in Entertainment. You will get burned in Entertainment biz harder and faster than the black or grey markets
I would get in writing that you get a cut of "First money in" if they aren't going to pay you. OR a deferred payment of a predetermined amount. Start thinking about what your part of the story is worth. The other thing is you can use it for a vehicle for BRANDING say if you are a breeder you get your name out there then that's really good for your BRAND.

I say the only way i'd do it is with the black out background thingy along with changing the voice. However the producer might not want either of these two things, especially if your 100% legal.
That is unless of course you never want to travel to the US and Europe. I mean sure you could travel to these places, but i bet u'd get red flagged.

I dunno, you most likely wont get that famous anyway. Ive watched a few MJ docos and cant remember any faces of random growers, (easy as hell to call up now its on permanent record) but then again you could be stalked for the rest of your life by professional rippers, Cops, Anti terrorist organisations, Terrorist Organisations, people who already know you now, and recognise you forever, et al.

Dr. Dog johnnyla brings up a great point. On that thought, I vote for you to make your own weedumentary, this way you have total control of the content and message.
Unless your producer friend is into this project for the same reasons you are, do it yourself. Think, will this help or hinder the long term ideas and plans for your actions? Make a sound decesion, get baked and think it over!

I don't think I am slated to be a star of the doc, but I do have alot of stories, and am very opinionated. Anyone who knows me, knows I am an advocate for MMJ.. I am always wearing weed gear, Like roor, high times, treating yourself, silver surfer, etc I have a lot of shirts, so I am not very secretive about who I am, or what I stand for.
I would like the idea of doin one myself, but this guy is a med user(producer), so I kind of know where he is coming from

the documentary you'll have your answer, will viewers be able to put
together who you are & therefore where you grow? will rippers be on

Good points.. I would say I really have no issues with rippers, my location is a very secure facility, in a fairly populated high traffic area. SO that is not a concern.
I dont make it a secret of what I do, although this will be the first time, I will have my face for the whole world to see. I get introduced as dr dog to quite a few people..
as for what kind of light they paint me in, well that is not really a concern, I guess I would just go with the flow, how bad could it be
