More Strains than Brains - SB's evolving project.

Welcome to the show SF, and thanks.
It's hard to beat the HPS, honestly. I like the plants it grows better. I like the resins that come from the CFL box, though, and that's what we're after in the end. Still though, if I had to choose one to keep it'd be my 250 - luckily, I don't have to choose.
(I'm going to get some permanent UVB going in the tent soon, we'll revisit this in a few months and see if that closes the gap. I bet it does.)

Hey SB. Thanks for the tip about the aussie bred candy! I went and checked it out and Moonunit is out of control. I would say that he has the bush technique down to a science. I would love to get my hands of that stuff. The genetics or just a damn bag. How are they getting such high yielding, short plants? Are they just using at least 1KW or is that the genetics showing? I would love to grow something that fat! Just not sure I would want to wait the 120 days like some of them went. If I could get them that big I would grow one at a time.
Decided to put UVB in the tent huh. Probably a good idea. Maybe there is another level to trich coverage for your ladies yet. Anyway, gotta go. Peace and stay green.

Ask and ye shall receive, arcticsun... I needed to do an update anyway. I have a lot to say tonight, so settle in and bear with me.
Funny you mention the RK, she's coming down in the morning at 63 days for a change. Her growth into the lights and subsequent move and re-pot slowed her down a little and I bet I could take her to 70 this round. But I'm not gonna. All I got in the jars is sativas, and a brotha's gotta sleep now and again.
I also found out a little more about her history... she came to my circle of friends from Oregon ~3 years back as a cut. No previous history is known. May well have been from seeds from the commercial cross given the proximity to BC, but that's pure speculation on my part. Just another herbal mystery.
Here's the current one, her top is pretty haggard after the aforementioned light episode (lost a lot of upper fan tips as they raised skyward... right into the bulbs.
) I took a shot of some lower buds too, for a less-worn look at her nugs. The leaf damage there is all from the flush.
I won't have another to flower for some time, I'm afraid. I have a clone which is just now showing roots and I just found out that the mother has died. Looks like I get to hold a mom for a little while, so this little one will see an extended veg.
The rest of the tent is looking great. Here's some shots of the (by row) not-Chemdog & C99, Zoidfuel x Cherryfuel and Wonder Haze. Note the gnarly double-serrations on the ZFxCF leaves.
Here's something else fun I have brewing... I call it 'F99'.
And finally, a look at the near-future. Here are two of my three declared Mirre females. (Camera battery decided that we were done for the night right here.) I got 5/5 seeds to germ, and have one very nice looking male. Looks to be the same pheno as F#1, and has been her virtual twin from the beginning. He's going to get a closer look. Plant #5 has not yet declared, but looks female-leaning to me. 4/5 ain't bad, eh?
These 5 plants were hit hardest of all by the hot FFOF. You can still see some residual burn damage on F#2's fans. They all seem happy now in their new soil and are recovering. They'll be flowered starting in about 7-10 days. I sure do hope they branch enough for cuttings.

Things are looking great SB. The not CD is sure pretty. I like the structure of the whole plant. The Mirre ladies (and man) look so healthy. Huge fan leaves that show no stress. Pretty. I keep thinking about the wonder haze and if it stopped stretching yet. Not that it has too. You still got a bit of room in there. Have you noticed and changes since the UVB got in there?

Well, it's sorta tomorrow, right? Got some pics from the tent.
First up is the F, frosty up top from the 5% UVB bulb. You can see where the top burned after growing into the lights in my small cab. She did not like that one little bit, and I've been picking nanners off every day since. Shame, she's usually such a good girl.
And the C99, this one is the keeper pheno (of our two) for sure. I got a sample along with a cut from the dude who found it and it's far and away better then the girl I got. More vigor, more odor, more yield, more potency and a better, true-C99 heart-thumping racy high. Makes me glad I share my seeds! Here's a nug at day 30:
And my new pet girl, the Wonder Haze. Only girl out of 5 seeds? No problem. She's starting to straight stink... smells just like the F right now - haze/citrus/haze. (Guess that means the F is strongly hazy in nature, like I thought.) Bitch stretched to 3x her height, and now she's filling in. Day 32:

Hey hey hey, what can I say! That F, bad bitch! So she shoots up in the lights and then gets a sexuality complex, man! I mean really? What can ya do you know. So the heat stress was enough to make her throw the nanners? Too bad, she looks trich'd out though, cool pics. Are the brown'd hairs from the burning, or did you get some seed? Probably the heat huh? Oh well, she still looks nice, sunburn and all.
Shot the aforementioned C99 sample - here's one of the denser nugs. (I already smoked the frostiest one, sorry!) I'm not sure how pineapply she is, moreso than my pheno but not as unmistakable as I'd been led to expect. She stands up to the sparkliest shit I have grown though. I have 11 more beans to try and find better, too!

Yeah, she got herself all 'hot and bothered' one day. I can only blame her nanners on that, she's grown in the tent before with only 1 or 2 at the end. (I was warned about those when I took the cut.)
The brown hairs you see are just brown from age, she's ~12 days from chop right now. She does have seed though, there's 12-15 of them from some targetted C99 pollen on her lowest 3 branches. That should be a good time or two.

You and me both, Benji, you and me both. Seems like she's finally gotten healthy, I guess I should update some pics. I'd say that's the one plant I'm most excited about, but ~5 weeks into flower and there's nothing for trich coverage yet. I hope that is normal, I've grown enough hemp in the last 2 months.
