20ish per hour

I have a good friend that Guarded a Nuclear power plant for $ 17.00 an hour, He was ex military not special forces or of a high rank. He just got the job because he needed one.

I guess the government contracts the work out and ex military is easily eligible because of a security check that has already been performed on them. Well at the end of every shift all employees have to pass through a machine that checks for radiation, if you have high levels you can't leave. He couldn't leave one day and started freaking out, so what they did was start taking off the clothes he was wearing and the level dropped enough to let him go home. He quit the next day.

Just know that it can be worse

I say if you have qualifications and technical expertise at what you do them demand to be paid a living wage. It really works if you have years with the company or city you work at

Everyone wants to be a baller but I don't hear talk about 4 year college degrees followed by graduate school.

If you want a shortcut get an engineering degree. In four years you can start at $30 an hour and with 5-10 years experience you'll be making twice that. Plenty of engineers make six figures. I personally work with job shoppers who get so much OT they make a quarter mil a year before taxes. They work the system though and they're hustlers.

And the demand is only going up because American schools suck so badly at teaching math, science and english and American students don't care to learn anyway. If you actually have a reasonable mastery of those three things, you can write yourself a pretty nice ticket.

At my job, I get to practically surf the net 8 hours a day for $30 an hour. Granted my job title is IT, which means I have to fix some hardcore shit if something goes wrong, and answer dumbass questions, etc. And coworkers suck, but other than that, my job is livable.

what? are you saying my withheld taxes are "loaned" to a private bank?

i'm not calling bullshit until you show me where you got this info from

Can't really show you, it's pretty much common knowledge.

Zero depenents - Government takes the maximum from you. That money goes into a private bank account for the gov, not you. Interest earned belongs to the gov, not you.

Claiming dependents - Government takes out less than the maximum, allowing you to earn your own interest. At the end of the year, you'll pay the same tax as you would with zero deps but your interest is gravy.

This doesn't work if you live paycheck to paycheck. The only way you'll gain interest is if principal is invested.

If you live paycheck to paycheck and claim zero on your w-4, the gov benefits from the interest earned. If you live paycheck to paycheck and claim dep(s), NOBODY benefits from interest because no money is invested. That's why I claim zero.

20ish per hour isn't bad . . . . depending on the cost of living and your level of education and training.

I graduated with people who went on to make only 25+ per hour and had/have 75,000K in loans. People who have masters degrees in technical fields from a highly reputable a US university, it's terrible.

Often times the best measure of pay is how expensive it is for a company to hire/train your replacement. If there's a lot of people who can do what you do and they can be trained in less than 90 days, it'll be hard to make bank.

You live in CA right? What's your monthly cost of living out there? (Just rent/utilities)

Try making $13/hr handing complaints at an insurance firm, then get back to me.

j/k. It's a temp job.

How about we legalize marijuana. How would that improve your situation?

You're wrong. The nursing shortage is a myth. Many four your BSN students are having trouble finding work anywhere but a long-term center, which really sucks.

lol, it's a fact, but anyone who is a bsn didn't do the research to realize it's a stupid career decision.

RN is all you need, and beyond that you start getting hated on for it. Why would a company hire a 4 year degree who wants more money when they can hire a 2 year that can do the same damned job?

My baby momma is a nurse, she will never have to look for a job, they find her.
