I am loving all the "we'll certify your growing knowledge" programs that are readily available to folks. what a joke... its like black belts nowadays at some of the franchised dojos... they give them to everyone as long as they stay in the system long enough and don't mean shit when the fists starts flying for real.

If you come to California looking for work in the med community, (I doubt you are trying to be a commercial grower or you wouldn't even need to ask the question you'd just move here and do your thing.) Don't expect to find any. California's unemployment rate is above the national average. MMJ jobs usually goto personal connections, referals from personal connections, existing patients who are in the right place at the right time and ask the right question, or people with exceptional amounts of experience that can be verified. Stay where you are, get yourself educated, and connected with your local activists. Start fighting in YOUR state to get mmj.

Further, it's kind of weird hearing people over and over again say that other medical marijuana states are merely "less structured." From what I'm reading, that's false. I know a lot of you Californians have beef with a variety of issues from cost of registration/id cards to often contradictory limits, etc. But the reality is that it's a one in a million for you to get busted in most counties if you're not going over 100 plants and attracting feds.


Even in Colorado, you get busted with a dozen plants and a few ounces on you and you're completely outside the limits of the law, at the mercy of a term limit on paper of serious prison time. As you well know, certain counties in California allow for 3+pounds dried, plus the plants.

The difference between California and all other states is night and day for people considering a medium to commercial size operation, from what I've read. If I'm wrong please explain to me how I am. I'm always willing to learn.

Well I guess if I'm screwed on working at a co-op. How would I go about finding someone who needs a caregiver? I'm going to visit CA next month since its only about a days drive, and try and find a place to live and hopefully meet some chill people

No way that cali is full. Cali is providing for the whole us not just cali. I say the more the merrier. And frankly I could imagine some haters if you are the newbie in the neighborhood but I didnt think people acted that badly that they steal ur shit or narc u out. If you get something cheap in the sticks, it will be easier for a novice grower, but just for own stash really unless you wanna sell cheap cuz unless your a really good grower with Some sort of Kush GDP GRAPE APE so on and so forth.

If you have something nice the easiest thing to sell is trays clones to the Disp, ONLY if they are perfect.

If you have the wild west spirit, then bring it on.

Let me reiterate your gonna need a fully padded bank account and your gonna need to be able to get a good job and keep it which will be hard when they find out your smoking your face off everyday, or your gonna be living in a school bus parked at Golden Gate Park. look for me when you get there!

I'd say like 10 to 15K would be a good number to have moving out. 3-4 months worthy of living expenses before your first harvest.

Yea if you don't have a connect you better damn well have a wad of cash and a plan. I have a connect out there through family and I could get low pay work within a week in the industry but nothing phenomenal. Its tough unless you know someone or have the cash to sit back and let your crop grow to fruition. That being said, you can make mad cash at Berkeley or Stanford just targeting the students and faculty. But that being said, shorty is right, you better have your shit straight when you try to sell because they don't buy swag out there. Might as well make some hash out of anything less than dro. If you want to do it and think you can, go for it but I would wait and try to get some connections first. I am not sure how generous people on here are but I have found job offers through forums before but you have to prove yourself thats for sure. Start a grow where you are, put up a grow report and hope someone can provide you with a hookup or contact. No one is going to cut you in on big money but might get you a taste and a foot in the door. Just remember, people don't give things to jerks, they give shit to good people who are good at what they do. If you are looking for charity you have to make yourself worthy of it Just my and please don't take any of this as insulting or anything, just how I see it my friend.
