on harvest day. Chem #4 on the left and Rez's chem d x chem #4 on the right. Both are pretty sturdy but am fighting the borg during this grow.

Big deal? No. Not at all.

Look,gang,CC's really into the Chem4,but I can tell you this: 95+ out of 100 pot smokers,if given the choice between Chem4 and Chem D Clone,in a blind test,would take the Chemdog D,hands-down,No Contest.
CC's being his pragmatic self-the "D" Clone stinks SKUNK through bricks and cement,and it's a PITA to scrub lotsa' Chemdog D out of the air.
(I don't mind the "bother",for the Results.)
In CC's opinion,the Chem4 yields more-in my experience,it's only a marginal difference,and certainly not a deciding factor in how much of what I grow.
(Yield never is,I've always been into Final User Quality.) As to the overall quality,(taste and power) well,imo,Chemdog D just bitch-slaps the 4,comparatively,out of the room-and the #4's no slouch,fwiw.
(I smoke tons of great pot,some would call me jaded,sorry!)
Chem4's a really swell pot plant-it's fresher,genetically,then the "D",having been grown from seed for only a few years now. It's got a better profile than the "D",it's a bit easier to manage.
If only Chem4 had the "hit you in the face,power-slam" high that the "D" has,all would be kosher,and I'd prolly' grow more #4,myself. I can't,and won't,because it's simply not as good as the "D",and I like buying scrubbers.

Man, I must be trippin, I was sure I wrote a response to this.

I do not believe either parent was reversed.

I am sure it was the Chem 4 mom hit to the Chem D dad that Rez used for his recent Chem D lines where a Chem D male was required. IE, Chem D BX or IBL workings.

Rez did tell me as this line is very interesting to me, but I was mashed when gaining the info, so can not quite remember.

Oh Rezy you bastard! You failed to mention that the risk factor of the D is about 100X greater than the #4. If you give a bag of D to a buddy, and he gives some to his buddy... and that buddy gets busted in a traffic stop because you just can't hide the smell of Chem D... now everyone in the entire up-line (all the way back to the grower) is at risk because you never know what some weak willed fool will tell cops if he's scared. The same traffic stop would very likely be uneventful if the bag of dope was Chem #4... which hardly smells like pot at all. So yes, you get more of a pot smell with the Chem D... but more safety with the #4. Now... the deciding factor is the high... If you can get the same level of stone from both (which I believe completely you can), then why go with the weak-stemmed Chem D with the "yes officer, I have pot in my car" smell? The #4 gets me MORE stoned that the D... and I'm not even close to the only one saying this... but each person likes something different...the difference, however, isn't big enough to make it a deciding factor, IMO.

BTW, I'm growing out your (Rez you bastard) SFV OGK x Chem D. I'm looking for something to replace my Chem D clone. Since I get 4-5 ounces from both the SFV OGK and the Chem D in 3 gallon pots... I feel I can find what I'm looking for in this cross.

everybody told me i was high (which i am)

hearing all this is really blowing my mind! the d is one of my favorite cuts of all time....of course, after a couple years i usually get bored with a strain...will be getting the 4 soon, be able to compare myself....CC and everyone else, is it really THAT much better, or do you think having had the D for awhile has something to do with the fact your more stoked on the 4?

Well... The D is super killer stuff, no doubt. And I don't think the #4 is really better smoke, what I think is that the #4 is the better choice if you're trying to grow weight, keep an organized grow room, gain a degree of security compared to growing/handling the Chem D, and still get just as high as with the D.

ya, im another one that thinks the D blows the 4 outta the water... Ive had the 4 from i think 4 different growers, and everytime it had turned out nearly identical... I do really enjoy the high on the 4.. But like REZ said, it doesnt even come close to having the same kick to the face/ expansion in the lungs, super potent hit. Not even close IMO

I have some special seeds from Rez... Chem #4 x Chem D. I believe these were not released for sale, but I may be wrong. They are among the seeds that most excite me for the possibilities within. It will be close to seeing what the parents and offspring of the original Chem D family looked like... If you follow me.

I expect to see a better-than "D" Clone or Chem4 Clone,Mother emerge from these-stinky,powerful as hell,and a ridiculous yielding plant. We shall see,if anyone can find it,CC can.

well i havent tried any of them.. So i can say it sounds like both are potent with D's high more powerful Anyhow great thread as i think i said before CrazY... I had the D cut but it died after it got to its destiantion stem was to mushy.. ;( peace..

I gotta side with the D in this one.... I like the 4, but there isn't much that compares to the punch of the D! The first time I tried the D I almost "spit" my hit everywhere trying to hold it in, haha. I love those hot flash, head-banging strains!

I like both. I like to grow/smoke the chem 4, and just smoke the chem d if that makes sense. From a growers standpoint, the chem 4 is better in all aspects. The chem D has a slightly better taste and the smell...Yea, If a cop pulled me over while I had the chem D, the only thing I could tell em is that I "sharted(shit/farted)" on myself hoping he would let me go, If you catch my drift..LOL..The smell is just ridiculous...
