OWM, I just noticed your avy only has one arm. Is that who you're talking about? Trashing the mentally impaired now? Shameless.

Didn't care to list a single one. I'll give you a leg up and start with Fox News. When the DC police estimate the crowd at 50 to maybe 75 thousand, that's hardly any evidence that multiple news sources know what they're talking about. I happen to read multiple news sources. The only news here is the great overestimation of the crowd from a very few news ops. In fact, the news is correcting the over estimations by a very few.

Hahha even FOX reported it as 100,000 not 1,000,000

Members of freemdom works America ( the private company that organized it that went on msnbc inviting payoffs to spread political agendas ) were the ones who submitted the reports ( but they certainly wouldnt do something like that now would they )

People were gullible enough to believe Iraq had anything to do with 9/11/02, dont really expect them to understand being herded like sheep

But hey if a company gave me 3 Mill I might just spread some lies for them too

Florida is as conservative as it gets except for Texas.... http://billnelson.senate.gov/news/details.cfm?id=317701&

Check out what Bill is cooking up This would save Medicare a ton of money. Further, by eliminating the tax break drugmakers get for TV advertising, we would see another $37 billion over the next years to pay for health care.

I don't understand why people don't realize a cost can save them money. Lets say you were trying to run a business, there are investments before you make profits. Right now we are loosing money by letting the rich folk get special treatment. If youre mad about costs thank Bush.

Multiple news sources are estimating the crowds at the rally between 1.5 and 2 million.

Alright, here's the truth on millions and multiple news sources:

According to MSNBC, the president of Freedom Works said ABC News reported the 9/12 protest reached a million folks.

ABC actually reported 60 or 70 thousand. That's only 930 to 940 thousand off. ABC News denied the Freedom Works claim. In other words, it's a LIE.

Freedom works also released a brochure with a pic of the Mall, supposedly a pic taken on 9/12 with crowds backed up to the Washington Monument. The DC police said 9/12 was an impressive crowd but only backed up 2 to 3 streets. The Washington Monument is about 17 streets back, (14 to 15 empty streets.) Another lie?

The Freedom Works pic was determined to be a fake. The American Indian memorial that was opened years ago doesn't even appear in the Freedom Works pic. According to estimates, no crowd that size has appeared in Washington since the Million Man March (and it didn't eclipse a million but was close.)

Could Freedom Works be so careless to mistakenly reference the Million Man March instead of their very own protest? Nope. A pic of 70 thousand protesters doesn't appear as impressive as about 930,000 (the amount estimated at the MMM.) In other words, another LIE.

Just like you guys chiding that rally as being a low attendance thing. Good grief men...that rally, whether you like it's context or not, was history making. Never in our time has such a rally been brought on, by so many passionte folks. Folks who are representative of the real mainstream America...not the mainstream that your beloved liberal media pundits want you to believe exists.
It's history alright. History - as in exposed.

Thanks for the werd, Bill. I certainly wouldn't want to be responsible for another torrent like that, lol. I'm not familiar with Schiff but I'll see what he has to say. If he's anything like Dr. Paul, I'm not interested.

I feel sorry for you liberals.

Us libs don't have to resort to such lame comments as the one above. We don't even have to say things like "goddamn stupid...." whatever.

We just show everybody what conservatives say, what conservatives do.

This wasn't even a debate about libs vs cons until you came along, hoosier. Before you, most of the conservative sounding opinions denied having a thing to do with either political philosophy. I think they were advocating a dump of the entire system and return to the founding fathers' intentions. Correct me if I'm wrong but you're the only peep advocating conservatism here. SHRUG.

A new poll shows doctors favoring a public option by 63%. Another 10% favor single payer so that's 73% of doctors in favor of health care reform. If anybody is interested, I'll provide a link. It's a non-partisan poll by the way.

Polls are for idiots and the less than learned.
Nothing more than another tool for tools.

Go back and find a book called "Winning with Statistics" or (sumsuch)...it was written in the '50's and describes in detail how to use statistics to boost your arguments advantage.

You know what the biggest problem is here? It is that you feel you can throw around any sort of charges at folks that do not agree with your stance. And you also feel that nothing can be thrown at your positions.
You have already admitted that once you know a persons political leaning, it shapes your opinion from then on of them. What a narrow minded fuck you must be. And obviously miserable to boot.

Did you ever stop to think that your lame attempts at comedy, and blatant attacks of those of the right, could actually be offending some folks? Wait...I'm sure you feel that anyone who is of the right winged stripe must simply be a moron, yes? Sure you do. All of you ignorant liberals feel that way. And right wingers surely deserve to be chided an insulted.

I feel so very sorry for such sad fucks.

I'm just going to suggest that you hold a mirror up to yourself and read that part of your post once again before you read the following tidbit below... perhaps you should just reread the whole thing and ask yourself if you can tell how hypocritical you just came across...

... because I think you mighta overdone it more than a little bit. I'm sure there are informed conservatives cringing every time you make a post in this thread... I feel sorry for you.

The shit was getting too deep in here to let it pass.
Ignorance abounds.
Many of us are simply tired of being part of this socialist liberal charade.

I'm beginning to think the screw rattling around up there is a little rusty, hd. I don't actually enjoy repeating myself. A few posts back I admitted a statistic isn't necessarily a fact. Yet statistics and fact are disputed by a belief. A belief that lost the presidential election last time around. You have mentioned being part of the majority when it comes to your thoughts. How do you base such claims? Belief? I would think a man that makes so MANY blanket statements AND knows statistics as well as you would use them to back up a belief.

You know what the biggest problem is here? It is that you feel you can throw around any sort of charges at folks that do not agree with your stance.
After I've been called everything in the book? Read insinuations I'm not a heterosexual? Virtually threatened with an ass whoopin?

When you throw rocks at the dance, don't be surprised if you get hit.

And you also feel that nothing can be thrown at your positions.

Nah, I get worked over pretty well by good debaters. If you even read my posts at all, read this. The very first reference you made in my direction was "goddamn stupid..." whatever. Why do you insist on being the poster boy for the definition of hypocrisy?

Did you ever stop to think that your lame attempts at comedy, and blatant attacks of those of the right, could actually be offending some folks? Wait...I'm sure you feel that anyone who is of the right winged stripe must simply be a moron, yes? Sure you do.
I don't make it a point to offend anyone. I happen to think conservatism is necessary. It keeps libs from getting too far to the left, for one. I'm sure you have many more reasons so I won't list them all here. Anyone who is of the right wing stripe, moron or not deserves the same respect I wish for myself. Nobody deserves to be chided and insulted.

All of you ignorant liberals feel that way.

I feel so very sorry for such sad fucks.
I don't feel bad for hypocrites.

I am done with you now. In many ways.

See, this is precisely why I do not believe politics and religion should be a part of a forum that is not dedicated to discussions on those topics.
This forum is centered around learning and sharing methods of growing a plant. Now it appears people who once held something in common are separated due to OFF-TOPIC bullshit.

Pretty sad to see this happening on IC too.

Practice what you preach then...
It was after you were chiding and insulting conservatives, that I chimed in.

I wasn't cussing them out. I was getting hell about my politics and giving it back. Just like I'd do on the sidewalk. You came along and took things to a new low. You brought nothing but a belief. A belief that rejects the possibility of anything except which you wish to believe. All you've done is come in and knock over the furniture and pitch a fit in the floor.

I am done with you now.
Play it again, hd.

In many ways.
Oh hell! I guess that means you're not gonna help me get my plants looking as good as yours? Wait a minute, my plants already look better, w/o the air conditioner.

I guess you forgot you already cussed me out months ago in another thread. I've known you for a few years now. Have I ever asked your advice? I've given you some rep here and there but I don't ride the hd train.

I'll go right back to keeping things civil with you like I always have, for starters. The ball is in your court, how you play will determine how I play.

Ummm .. I thought this was the Cannabis Laws and Cannabis Legislation forum.

I started it out with the proposal that mmj be included in the health care bill.
Now the thread has become sidetracked to the debate over the bill itself. Not at all intended.

I just wanted to look at this tactic as a potential route for getting nationwide mmj.

I think it would work .. but at what cost?

DiscoBiscuit

Great question. Financial cost? It's hard to imagine mmj costing anywhere near patented medicines. It's so versatile, many prescription medications could be lowered or even halted, depending on the disorder.

Since you put it that way, I'm closer to understanding your idea. I was looking at the likelihood of a bill with mmj passing into law, maybe a little closed minded.

Occasionally I open my eyes a little wider and am willing to look at things I don't usually see. Armed with facts and statistics, an organized group would have an easy debate about the medical benefits of pot. I imagine anybody with a dollar to lose would lobby against mmj but that doesn't stop all change and progress. We manage to make things for the better ever once in a while so this issue shouldn't be any different.

I don't enjoy admitting I'm wrong. Maybe I'll avoid it all together, lol. Too bad pot is such a taboo with some folks.

This is a place in time where our community could make the difference.

Obama isn't going to get this medical bill passed. Not the way it is and perhaps not at all.

If he added mmj, there's a real chance to win it. Not that I'm in favor of the health care bill idea .. but I'm in favor of nationwide mmj.

He needs us.
