Serious risk though from what I read man. The growing side of the CO scene, legally, doesn't seem to be in a good place.

Honestly on paper Ohio looks better.

There's paper, then there's reality.
If you're talking wild, wild west, it does not get much 'wilder' than Colorado right now. Sure the weather is great in Cali year round, but I like winter sports and snow bunnies, zero humidity, great micro-brewery beer, early morning altitude with spliffies on a southern facing slope, and being legal MMJ patient within a state that constitutionally supports the medication for certified patients.

Fortunately, I don't have to move anywhere.

Sadly as long as Colorado has a Federal court house there is no escape. It's the same deal in California. Or any other state. Theoretically, the US Supreme Court should recognize the rights of states, and see the violation of these rights (busting med people) as unconstitutional.

Yeah. Sometimes i think I should wait until I'm completely finished with my education. Sometimes I think fuck that finish it online(which I can) and make the plunge dummy. You're mid twenties already how much longer you gonna live in WhogivesaFuck, Nowheresville?

And more importantly, randude is alllivvveee!!!!

dont ditch what is most important to you, but re-evaluate freely.

Making it? Economy? Never move to california? These have to be quotes from people that have never been here. Our bud and strain selection for growing is un matchable anywhere in the US. Some of our outdoor flowering time is 7 months with no frost. Nor cal growers dont even know the word economy. I have seen millionaires living in trailers for 2-3 months out of the year. Its a total different ball game out here! And as far as the state not recognizing and protecting our rights. Your right, they dont protect people growing and selling weed for a profit. Cant get mad at them for enforcing the law. As a medical patient in california I feel very safe about my rights as long as they are not abused in any way. Which I admit is hard at times but if its broken theres only us to blame.

is it as easy as pie to move to cali and grow, no, but alot of people are being drama queens and scaring you for nothing, seriously if you got some funds and you really wanna do it, do it. dont listen to the advice of a bunch of people who arent you. theres alot of different experience out there, some havent been as successful are others, but thats on them more than being in cali.

anything that you run into after you move, unless your a pussy, you can overcome. its not that hard to grow a lb a month in a 1bedroom apartment., add that to your income from work. you can do that for a year figure out your scene then blow it up, or dont blow it up, keep working and growing a little, and next time you take a girl out to dinner your not gonna stress her 4th cocktail

but a few people were right, do not move to the em tri, unless you have a bunch of homies already there to school you

I'd be interested in hearing more from the CO guys, not to thread jack but hows the scene out there?

JC, I don't want to jack-a-thread either, but will tell you that there are plenty of threads discussing the CO MMJ scene. Check 'em out and chime in!

Just have enough money to survive until your first crop is done and you will be good. Get a card right off the bat, get growing and get going.

No biggie

keep the legal issues with the clubs and just sell to them to keep the issues off your back, don't come here to open up a delivery or dispensary because in that aspect it IS the wild wild west and you better lawyer up to make the big cash.

Vend vend vend and keep your name off the books

this is interesting to me bc my bf and i just up and moved to cali too.. a lot of the same situation as ur friend and its working really well for us, too. i love it here.

derail all you like brotha! I'd love to hear more about the colorado scene, particularly whether or not there are more, mmm, "civilized" ways to unload flowers if need be. Is it more akin to walk into a club with a sample, come back a few days later and talk business like men...or is it more fitty cent bring yo' strap gansta's paradise?

I moved here without knowing anyone at 22! Best time I ever had.

The Bay Area is not the same as the rest of California economically. Silicon Valley and the Wine Industry insulate us from the rest of the state.

Construction and tourism are down, but they are still building luxury homes in Napa. Sonoma is more rural, lot's of stoner/slackers with no ambition. But that just makes it easy for someone with intelligence and discipline to succeed.

The people who say it's hard to be successful are the ones looking for an excuse to not try. Never listen to them and make sure your friends are encouraging you to succeed.

Misery loves company and so does success. Choose positivity and hard work and you'll be fine.

Having an awesome time then getting thrown in jail really seems like a short win. I dunno Cali police or gangs that you might have to deal with not sure which one is worse. Play it safe. I would have figured Cali would be like growertropolis.

In the 19 years I've lived in the San Francisco area , I've had no run ins with gangs.

Trust experience over imagined fears.

Would you take investment advise from a broke person? Don't take living and growing in California advice from someone who has never lived or grown in California.

Ask the people on this site ( there are some really great experienced Cal growers on some other sites too) who actually live and grow in Cal.

I got to stick to the grow forums... this is silly.

Glad to hear!

move here to do what you love and bring positive energy and you will be doing California and the movement a favor.

there can never be too much quality herb anywhere, even california. most of the herb in socal collectives doesn't even compare to top notch fire from norcal. that says it all. grow headies.
