What is the most efficient way to grow in my tent?

I need some advice. I need to be able to harvest as often as possible, and as much as possible with my setup.

My setup consists of: DR120 tent (4'x4'), Super Sun 2 hood with an Eye Super HPS 600 watt, Quantum dimmable ballast, 8" Can Fan, Can 66 filter. The room has A/C that the tent is in.

I'm trying to figure out how I should go about harvesting as much as I can out of this as often as possible. I screwed up last time and grew some killer shit in this, but I didn't have anything ready to go back in it when that was done. I started all over again from seed. And I DO NOT want to do that again. It really blows waiting this long for this stuff this time.

I am growing in 4 gallon pots using FFOF mixed with Happy Frog soil. I have all of their nutes/solubles along with Cal Mag+, Nitrozime, Maxicrop and blackstrap molasses. I thought about getting some Pure Blend Pro or something else to try out, possibly some AN stuff if I knew what to get for sure :wallbash: I forgot I am also using Roots Organic OregonismXL.

I can legally have 12 plants. I only grew 3 plants in this tent last time but one was a sativa that got over 7 feet tall. This time I'm growing mostly indica strains, Shiva Skunk, Northern Lights, White Widow and Blue Hash. This time I have 7 plants in here. 4 SS, 1 WW, 1 NL and 1 BH. I know I should probably be growing one strain to make it easier but I like trying different stuff out.

7 plants in this tent is too many I think. At least the size that these are. Maybe I'm wrong, but they're pretty crowded.

I already took clones off of these plants so I would have them ready to go in the tent when these are done. Is that the best way to get more harvests more often?

the most efficent - and best way, is the way that works best for you.

Not everybody gets the same results - and sometimes ya fall down - HARD
FoxFarms was my first few grows worked well most the time. Most.

lots of factors in the decision - but I just moved into rockwool cubes in flood and drain - and it's working well - - I can forsee better results with a little adjsutment and fine tuning. Good points are a healthy garden - and I haven't lost one plant from the original first batch - males excluded. These were 40 assorted seed starts whittled down to 21 girls - and my buddy got a couple that overgrew the room.

here's a link:http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=122314

Plant limits can be upped usually - getting a garden sorted is one good reason - saying you prefer to eat your meds iss another.

Clones can be your friends, but 12 plants or less linda limits ya --- me, I like 2 clones of everythuing until I get a harvested plant. (Have you seen what they charge for seeds? ) LOL

perpetual harvest. have a seperate veg area? that way you can run diff strains all the time and you harvest at all times. good luck

Hey thanks.

I thought that you had to have a ton of plants to do SOG. That's why I didn't think I wanted to do that. I want to have as much yield as possible so I'm growing trees. I thought with SOG you just got a little off each plant but had lots of them? Last time I got at least 3 oz.'s off my NL, maybe even 4, I didn't keep close enough track of it. White Ice I got less off of, but that sativa I grew I got 6-7 ounces off of.

I liked using the Fox Farms stuff the first time, but I wish I had something better. My plants don't seem to be as healthy this time. They're not unhealthy, but they aren't quite as nice as they were last time either. I did wait too long to transplant into the 4 gallon pots though, so maybe that's why? I had these in like 1 quart pots, I went into the 4 gallon and a week later there were already roots coming out the bottom holes.

Is Pure Blend Pro "better" than Fox Farms stuff? I would really like to try AN's stuff too, since it's supposed to be the ultimate, but I wish they made it easier to figure out what you really need. I can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on nutes, not right now anyway. If I knew of like 3-4 things I could get from them that I'd get better results from than this Fox Farms stuff I'd get it.

I've bought all of the seeds I've grown so far. White Label White Ice, White Label Northern Lights and Sensi Seeds Shiva Skunk all feminized. Plus I got some decent freebies. But yeah I know they're expensive. After the last grow though I don't mind paying the price for them. For what you get off of the plants they're actually pretty cheap IMO.

Our medical marijuana law just passed here last November. The cops are just freakin over it. They're pissed off beyond belief. These assholes seem to think that the people of Michigan didn't know what they were really voting for. That's what they've stated anyway. Poor f'ing babies... I'm trying to get a friend to get his card so I can be his caregiver too. Then I'll be able to have 24 plants legally. :woohoo:

One thing I forgot to mention is that I know someone with a WaterFarm 8-pack system that has never been used. I am seriously thinking about buying it from him. I've never grown hydroponically and really want to try it out.

I do have a separate area I can veg in. But would I be better off taking clones off of each plant when I go to flower them and have them ready to go in when the current batch is done flowering? Or should I just keep mother plants and take clones off of those every time? I've never cloned so I don't know what to do for sure.

Thanks for the help.

To my way of thinking - clones are the only way to consistancy. I can gow an oz or a pound of the same bud if I start enough clones or veg one- or two clones long enough

I have no use for a plant that provides half-assed bud - even if it doubles or triples my yeild - They tell me of legends of plants that grow them selfs - get really huge, really fast and are done in ,, like 5 weeks.
I keep loolon for this strain - till then if it ain't the best bud in the city - I don't wana grow it.

I've seen a few of those water farms for sale over the years - most have been unused also. hmmmmmmm. There are a couple threads on bio-buckets - which might be a really good option for you ------

i like the speed of a hydro setup
ive seen plants that grow sluggish in the ground go nuts in hydro

I have plants in soil that were germinated before these and the soil plants are still in veg thus was 25th day of 12/12 in R/W cube E&F so I would agree - when dialed in hydro can provide suprising growth. -- Lotsa help here to get ya goin - my advice - start at 50% maybe even 30% recamended dose.

Like this 5x5 sog

I use sog and while these are flowering I am vegging in the closet under this:

I run a 4x4 tent, 5x5 tent, 8 bulb tek T5 light (in the closet), an e-z cloner, and a water chiller all in one 12x12 room with a closet.

Had room for a large rack also and a rack is above the veg light across the closet.

Now with a plant limit of 12...I would do the exact opposite! I would scrog and lst with long veg plants and probably use female seeds or clones.

6 flowering, 6 vegging? Grow bushy plants that are slower veggers so they don't over grow you while your flowering.

Go from 6 inch>1 gal>3 or 4 gallon pots.

I switched from chem nutes to organic also and with a water only soil recipe such as blazeoneup's until harvest you can't beat the time saver and a great finished product. I do make teas though now also every once in awhile for beneficials and have found it to make my plants come out near perfect. Day 80 strains are n/p now.

Here's my current 4x4 tent with bushier plants. It's really important to know how what you have is going to grow or as you probably know by now you can outgrow your bounds:

I grow in tents myself. So i will share my set up with you hopefully it will give you a few ideas

here is my bubbler/clone box

once clones are rooted. i transplant into 1 gal hempy buckets and move to flower chamber

I dont really know how long plants are vegged for. they kind of just sit here till I have room in my 2 flower cabs. flower cabs are offset by about 30 days. So i am harvesting about 12z,s per month

Still got this thread subscribed. One thing I forgot to mention I think, is that I use a 6 inch axial fan for intake and the vortex 4 inch for the outtake hooked up to a scrubber. Even chemdog is conquered so far. Perfect air flow.

I recently bought the new sunhuts and they are simply fantastic screw the growlabs and anything else. Quality is unsurpassed and I have seen every tent now in person to date.

Do you have any pics of the new tent? :)

Yea, sure no problem, but I don't want to put this thread off topic as it is not mine. So, I will take them and post them within the next week in a dedicated thread to it. I think people would like to know and so many ask which tent they should get. I will be setting them up after my current tents are taken down.

The stitching and thickness of the material is awesome quality! Its easily 4-5 times thicker than the growlab/dr150 and metals on this version are also much stronger. I have a DR150 and an old sun hut now, even the old sun hut is better just no windows on that version. I went to the hydro shop and the grow labs were set up and I wasn't pleased at all. I don't think they were much of an improvement as far as materials go over the original dark room, better zippers... I was really hoping they used better materials on the new one, but I think its only marginally better.

i own a sun hut cause it was the cheapest tent i found and i'm pretty satisfied with it but i have nothing else to compare it to.

you like the sun hut better than the dark room and growlab? can you tell us some of the reasons?

Quality of the materials hands down. My roof is solid in my sun hut. In my DR150 you can push the damn tent and it sways lol. The top bars are bent from supporting a damn filter...Thank God I only got the 4 inch filter. A 6 inch and this thing would crumble (and yes its put together right). I use eco-plus filters and the DR can just barely hold them up. The Growlabs are a little sturdier than the old DR version, but barely and they are still weak where the poles connect like the Dark Rooms are. The Sun Hut doesn't sag or move at all. When you push it the things doesn't budge.

If you want proof on how the materials are way stronger and better made all you have to do is look up the weight differences of tents. It's all in the weight guys. There is a reason the Sun Hut weighs a lot more...

The fabric the DR and Grow labs are made with is garbage. Tinfoil thin compared to the Sun Huts. Sun Huts are thick as hell and I had 0 pin holes or scratches in my Sun Hut where as the DR's fabric was so weak and garbage I had to tape the damn thing all over with Gorrilla Glue tape to cover all the light leaks. Look at peoples pics of the DR's almost all of them have them taped up like damn Frankenstein for a reason. You can scratch a hole in one so easy its not funny. I don't even think I could rip apart the the sun hut material if tried.

The zippers don't wear out on the Sun hut and once again are way better Quality than DR's although the new version they call the Grow Lab the zippers are better, but not as good as Sun huts. I've seen this in person there is no denying it.

Not to mention the new Sun Huts have windows and all sorts of neat stuff. Easier to vent in them too.

An extremely important difference for us tent growers is height!!!!!!!!!!
The extra height in the Sun Huts is extremely useful compared to the DR's and Growlabs. Good luck growing any real sativas in a DR and getting full effectiveness from your light.

The bottom piece in the DR (The extra ground layer for the floor) is garbage in the DR. They have velcro to keep that in place? Give me a break lol. The Sun Hut has holes in the corners of the extra floor layer so you can zip tie the damn thing so it doesn't move or come undone when you are moving your plants around in the tent.

My DR will not survive being put up a second time and I don't even want to use it again with all the tape everywhere. What good are windows when the damn this leaks light through the zippers?

I can go on, but I will save it for the thread I make.
