Supa Nova,
Glad I could be of some help. I've had a heart breaker of a year with ants and termites. I know you are going the organic route but based on what has happened to you i would throw some fire ant granules to kill the ants in the area as well. I have also added sm-90 to my nute mix and have had less problems. It is something close to neem oil but can go into the bucket. I am using general hydroponics per Head's formula in the sticky under the coir section and have been amazed at the health and growth rate. If you are sticking to organic you may want to look at pure blend pro for the hempy bucket.
If your year has been like mine you probably thought what the hell when the first plant went and were able to spot when another was about to go down. My last plant I lost 3 weeks ago started to wilt slightly and I took 18 clones to get something out of it. These will go in hempy buckets as well. If you see another getting ready to bite the dust you may want to try it. Good luck.

OH no that plant didn't die from the ants...a coon or squirrel was digging, and with heavy winds in blew over, and snapped the main root ball off completely. I'm actually trying Pro Mox BX & HP next season. I'm going to be trying different soils, and products over the next few grows to get a feel for what works best. The ants haven't done any noticable damage to my plants, and I have lady bugs visiting to eat any larvae they lay on the undersides of my leaves. I'll actually look into the hempy buckets because my water does drain through very fast with all the drainage holes, but I think thats what helped my girls get through the month of June which had 27 of 30 days with rain!
