Is this the beginning of the dread PM? I've been holding off on using the Kaligreen (potassium bicarbonate) because the longer you wait, the closer to harvest it will remain effective... i think the literature says its good for 15 or 20 days after application.

oh yeah. PM.

Is that a bubba leaf? I've never had much pm issues outside, even down in the fog. But the one bubba plant I ever grew od got bad pm. I'd hit em with the kaligreen. And/or serenade.

Definitely looks like PM to me.

IMO, the potassium bicarbonate products are not effective as a preventative, only as a treatment for the existing problem. My experience is with Greencure, which is potassium bicarbonate as well, and the powdery mildew returned within a few days.

Neem oil based products on the other-hand have worked well for me as a preventative, giving a solid 10-14 days of protection.

I recommend you use the kaligreen / greencure / potassium bicarbonate stuff to kill any pm & pm spores on the plant, then a day or two later, give a good spray down with a neem oil based fungicide.

The neem product I used was Garden Safe Fungicide 3. Available in the garden section at Wal-Mart, at least the ones in my area. It's organic and OMRI listed too, which is always nice.

oh... its the AfPak... densest indica in the garden. i grew it out in the black box.... under the guise of headband. so dense. I gave it a good haircut today because I started to think it needed better airflow. that's when i found the PM. Looks pretty early and is localized to one bud-clump. I am going to thin out all those clumps a bit more than I had done already.

thanks, Bojangles... i will look into that. guess they could use a neeming for mites around now anyway. I will start by hitting them with the Aza Karanj. A couple are a bit too far along for anything like that. 4 weeks to go on the Razz and the Berry White. Would you spray a neem product on them?

Oh fuckin' PM...i really have a passionate hate for PM...

I would hit them up with the kaligreen...which you are probably doing as i type...stay away from oils though unless it's JMS...imo

When spraying neem or any other oil product like organicide the oil does not emulsify and stay emulsified leaving clumps of oil coming out the sprayer...resulting in inconsistant plant coverage and phytotoxicity...also they seem to take a while to degrade...organicide never really degrades...i still have oil stains on my walls at home from overspray that will not come off the wall...and it's been 8+ months or so...

Now i sprayed my plants heavily a week before the pics in my current update with JMS oil...it has an emulsifier in it...oil and water stay as one allowing for a consistant spray(for those who don't know)...i did not notice any burning of hairs or oil residue left on them either...PM spots dead and the oil degrades quickly...

i am hitting em up one more time this week...couldn't this week due to mid 40 temps at night but this week they are calling for mid to upper 50s...it's been absolutely gorgeous this week

On a side note if you are cutting out the infected, spray it first with kaligreen to suppress/kill any spores getting blown into the air...remove infected then spray again

Thanks everybody for the fast consultation. I hit the AfPak and The Bubba next to it with a foliar drench of kaligreen with natural wet... I am still pretty sure I remember that greencure has a spreader sticker in it and kaligreen doesn't. Fisher, I got that "T not t" in time to use the right concentration. Thanks.

I'll get the rest tomorrow.

I also had it on my Bubba Kush really bad. I have been using Safer Sulfur but now that things are stacking I have switched to Serenade. I couldn't find Kaligreen or Greencure at my local shop. Someone recommended EM-1 and said you can spray real late with it. I am going to look for it. I have never heard of using Neem to treat PM but I am not surprised. I think I am too far along to spray Neem on my buds.

I also used to have pm but now i always spray preventive before flowering begins.

If u have buds i would treat them manually with a cloth , wiping the leaves but staying clear of the buds

it's a lot of work , i did that a few years back ,bu it works thopugh you have to repeat
