what do you mean by legit? Ebay and paypal will rat you at at the mere request of a govt official, even without a warrant. So it's kinda shady.
Depends .. is all the high feedback negative? Seriously who the hell knows what/who youre dealing with on e-bay. If they dont have a brick-n-mortar storefront, a toll free number to contact them, a listed return policy, a warranty they abide by, etc .. I wouldnt bother when theres plenty others that do.
The two previous posts tells it like it is. The only person you can trust is yourself and if you buy from there then there's a paper trail to you or someone else.
I'd pay 200 dollars more a light for the peace of mind that no one knows who I am. I park at a nearby mall, walk to the shop, buy my equipment in cash, walk or cab back to the mall and then hang a while before I leave. It takes a while longer but peace of mind is a wonderful thing.....

not everyone is growing illegaly.
but beware of bunk shit on ebay. some bulbs on there are bullshit. some hoods are an excellent deal. as far as ballast go, research good ballasts, than go on ebay and search for that exact one. dont buy a cheap ebay version because its 200 bucks cheaper. that usually gets you in trouble.

Personally I buy my ballasts as kits or pulls from an industrial surplus place. They're about 95% cheaper and nobody watches or cares.
As for hoods/etc. I've always picked them up at hydro shops out of town when I'm on a road trip. I'd rather spend the extra $$ to be anonymous in another town.

where in cali you buy it? whats the name of the shop or website?
Just yesterday I saw someone report that HTG's boxes have "High-Tech Garden Supply" printed right on the boxes they ship in.
You could try and find a ebay seller with a actual store/website .Then contact them by email or go to their website,Still a risk i suppose ,i couldn't beat the price on galaxy's.

Nope, its definitely a plain brown box. The return addy might have had "htg supply" in it, but i cant remember
also, with htg, just order strait from their website... fuck ebay, u can get the same prices on their site.
