I have always wanted to collect wild rice, but never did, put it on the list.

Harvesting wild rice is actually a lot of fun. I got a license from the state a couple of years ago and made two trips out onto the lakes. They're pretty strict about the numbers of permits they give out and how you're allowed to harvest - traditional methods only - so it was a very cool experience. I didn't take too many photos, but I have a couple. The first one is not a meadow, it's the lake we're on.

(Oh, the finished rice is @$^#$& amazing, but a ton of work.)

Cool pics everyone,I love this thread.
I found this little guy ambling along minding his own buisness and thought it would make a good picture for this thread.He didn't like his picture being taken,so he stuck his/her quills up in a defense mode.
