Maybe attach elbows (90's) to the shade, or use that semi-rigid ducting to make 2 90's?

Maybe you should seriously consider going up to a 3x3 tent. When you harvest alot more nugs you'll be happy you did.

I'm going to use 6" Vortex fan then i wont have to adapt anything and just use the 6" flex to the Reflector. if its 250w or a 600w turned down to 300w i think that is my plan.

But now i get to buy a 6 or 6.5 hole saw.. Do they make 6 inch pvc pipe? I would rather use that to pipe it through my attic to the outside

I agree that bigger is better for ventilation if I'm pulling through a 6 x 24 or x 18 can filter and that's the only vent.

it the 36x20x62 Tent with the Quantum Ballast. I just have to wonder if it shortens the lamp life by running less current to it.

They have a lot of cool stuff

To be honest, I'd recommend you vent it with a correct type of penetration. Do you have eaves? I seen a 6" exhaust penetration meant for eaves at Lowes the other day, for like 30 bucks, and you could run flex duxting right to it. It'd be alot easier than cutting a hole into the roof. Lemme see if I can find it...

whatever light u decide to set up id really consider a vertical circualar with or without the stadium seating, have to think about how much more surface area your room will have for plants, usually its a about triple n a half the of the floor space of a typical horizontal hung lamps area, plus one bulb hung verticall can hit 4 sides, that alot less wasted light, pluss being that the plants are vertical and getting hit evenly top to bottom with light its as if there(the plants) are pre scrogged already in a sense. just give it some thought, its really an efficient use of light and space if u can figure it out, plus gpw averages go way up obviously. as well as there no reflector to trap heat from the light, u just put a fan directly below it blowing up towards your exhaust.

Dude, I know you mean well, but his tent won't be big enough to consider doing that. He'll get a much better yield just doing it horizontally IMO. Maybe throw a scrog in there. The one in my thread was super easy to build.

it doesnt have to be 4 sided or stadiumed vertical grow but even a two sided vertical or v shaped stadium in something 31 by 31inches long useing this is possible and would increase your useable space by around double with 64 tall to work with.

Nice nug shots man! God I wish I could rip one with ya... I'd make you pack it, of course ;) jokes

How deep is your closet space? The DR80 would fit though?

So lets see how much this will set me back...

36x20x63 Reflective Grow Tent 100.00
Plantastar 600w HPS 60.00
Quantum Digital Ballast 600w 230.00
Super Sun 2 Reflector 135.00
VT600 Fan 175.00
Carbon Filter 75.00

hmm about 775.00
Shop that super sun 2 around, I think I got mine for ~$100 (maybe 110, I'd have to check).

That price seems low for a carbon filter. I didn't see the part where the filters were evaluated, but mine actually cost more than my fans. I got an active air 6" for like 108 (it was on sale :)) and I bought a phresh filter 6x16" for like 140 (maybe a little less, again, I'd have to look). If you overdrive a carbon scrubber, you're going to blow past the carbon and it won't absorb the odor. Also, the phresh filters are way lighter than most of the others. CAN might say this is a bad thing, but I'm okay not having to lug around 50 lbs of carbon if I can avoid it.

Get the biggest tent you have space for, I got one that was too small and now I'm going to have to throw down more money to get another, bigger one. I may be able to use it for something else, but I wish I'd known how much space I was going to want ultimately.

Read the whole thread Trip, great setup and great results! Well done mate!!

You've confirmed my use of normal water (sat out for 24/48hrs or so) as well as the large CFLs. Interesting seeing the 250 up next to the 125 as it looks both wider and longer. The place I was looking at the bulbs (http://www.3ch.co.uk/lights/fluorescent-grow-lights/cfl-red/prod_121.html) makes no mention of the dimensions changing!

Oh and I'm also going to do a run with my bagseed gems I've collected over the years, looking at your plants!!
