Colorado MMJ License ?'s

Though I plan to be in full compliance with CO state law as far as plant counts, amount dried in possession, etc... I had asked about the fact that my address will be on record for the card.

Someone said I should get a PO Box, since it just asks for your mailing address. Well, first off, in order to get a PO Box i had to provide proof of where I'm living - so my address was already given up.

Secondly, in getting my CO drivers license, I attempted to just say I only have a mailing address - it's PO Box yadaya... Well that was kicked out 2 seconds later, and I had to give her my real address.

So if I'm sending my application for MMJ card in, with a copy of my ID that has my physical address on it... what good have I done? I mean, I suppose it's still better than having my real address printed right there on the card...

Am I overthinking this?

Additionally, just a heads up I've realized for anyone not trying to waste $90 on a rejected application - I thought a temporary state issued paper ID would be sufficient but apparently you have to have a photocopy of a PHOTO ID. So even though a temporary paper ID is enough to prove your residency in Colorado, it's not a PHOTO id as specified. I guess that means I'll wait until they mail me my real ID to send in my application.

And now that I think about it- my old license in my former state had my mommys address on it, since the learners permit days. I lived in several different cities, and about a dozen different addresses... never changed my ID. So- is that how you all have played this game with a sense of safety? ID that has a former address on it..

Thanks for input

Hey brah I had mentioned you should get one UPS store box-

you can use it as your address everywhere, and to receive almost any type of residential shipment. You will have to give the UPS store some kind of address though... its not impossible to give them a false one, however I do not know if it is legal considering all the laws regarding mail handling.

Also, you are already legal even if you only have a temp. ID as long as you have the doc's rec.

what movado said...UPS store box that has an adress that doesnt have the words PO BOX in it. When you go get your licences from DMV just give them the address. As long as i doesnt say PO BOX they dont care. Then when you apply for MMJ permit use you UPS store address again. When you have recieved both your Drivers licensce and MMJ card just go and cancel your UPS box if your worried about a traceable addy. If you feel the need u can update you DMV license with your new addy if you really feel like it.

Well, I eff'd that up lol. Got the USPS box and all days ago. At this point, I don't/can't care... my real photo ID will have my real living address- not much I can do to change that. Since I'll be fully compliant, even though I'd love to have 20 sog'd out babies, I guess I have nothing to fear but the feds...and fear itself...and grizzly bears.

I'm sure there are some of you who ended up using 100% valid information that could lead people to your house too, but have trust in the state. That's the same boat i'm in, and I hope i'm not the only one :)

Thanks guys

All good bro..Im sure you'll be fine. If your wanting to have more plants just ask the doc who signs your permit to alow some extras. what can it hurt? All he can say is no. You probably need those extras for edibles you plan on making.

Curious about medical records- have an appointment with Green Mtn this upcoming Saturday.

After a huge fiasco getting my medical records faxed 2000 miles, here's what I've wound up with:

Previous chiropractic records (no xrays, said they'd have to mail them) from the last two months - though I've attended off and on for the last 8 years for a chronic injury occuring in 2000. Since they didn't include documentation from previous visits or the fact that this is an old injury still causing grief, I'm wondering if this is sufficient.

I also had my regular doc from back home fax my records, and of course this has everything on it from when i had the shits in 9th grade to ear pain, to a few mentions of coccyx injury and lower back distress as a result.

I know that no medical records are necessary (on certain days) but I'm scheduled on a day that green mtn requires medical records - and this is apparently all I'm able to get from the people back home. I don't want anyone to think I'm pulling a fast one on the system, the hooked/bent coccyx and resulting poor posture leading to disc deterioration between vertebrae are the two plagues of my life - I've been lesser active, gained weight, had problems sleeping - all for years and years.

Sorry if I'm rambling, in the wrong place even- just the last few questions I had before going through with this. I'm excited to know I can legally get relief but I'd hate to be doubted due to my medical records not repeatedly stating the severity of the issue.

Thanks all

VAtransplant- all you need is one medical record showing an ailment that MMJ is sanctioned to alleviate. DO NOT bring ALL your medical records. These are your highly personal documents and there's no need for them to be in the hands of some Dispensary guy. Bring a medical record that an MD wrote (unless your chiropractor is an MD, which is doubtful). It just has to be something that can give a person chronic pain. Your coccyx/back med records would be sufficient to get you approved. Read this before you go, you'll feel way less stressed about it: http://thestrainman.blogspot.com/2009/08/colorado-medical-marijuana-patient-in.html

Great article, and comforting post. Thanks a bunch- I'll only bring what's important. Glad I have stuff from the real doc, though he referred me to the chiropractor in the first place.

5 days left! Pretty excited, that'll mark right about 3 weeks of not consuming cannabis in any way. Longest it's been since I first developed an interest at age 15. Can't say it's been a breeze - sleeping isn't easier, dreams aren't more clear or pleasant, studying is just as damn difficult (still forget everything I read at the end of a sentence.) That free half gram that Green Mountain offers will most surely come in handy that very day- pending that Home Depot has drug tested me by then :\

Have a good'n

Sounds like you are covered. Saturday Dr. is capable of making a diagnosis if necessary, so no worries. See ya on Saturday.

YUP. I've sent a few patients in there with no records, always get good convo, good info, and proper care. Sometimes there is a good wait, but hey I've spent 2-3 hours in way shittier situations then being surrounded by good meds. Just build a lil time in just in case.

You're lucky to even have 'it'

I'm still trying to figure out a ride situation to Denver so I can meet up w/ Green mount. care.

Just trying to get it as SOON as I can b/c I heard they might be tightening down on the laws, who knows could be just rumors but I don't want to take any chances.

A little tidbit of information direct from Amendment 20:

(d) Except for patients applying pursuant to subsection (6) of this section, where the state health agency, within thirty-five days of receipt of an application, fails to issue a registry identification card or fails to issue verbal or written notice of denial of such application, the patient's application for such card will be deemed to have been approved. Receipt shall be deemed to have occurred upon delivery to the state health agency, or deposit in the United States mails.

Hope you sent registered and kept the proof of mailing :)

Yeah, I told all my friends to do that... you'd be amazed how confusing that can be for people. Half the people I told came back with receipts for the stamps it cost to send the letter. No proof whatsoever... I just dropped mine in the mailbox too. Took forever to get it because I moved during and didn't even think about it and then had to tell the health department I lost it, to request a new one. Eventually got it after a few months. Gettin' about time to send in the renewal again... hate that shit.
