Not to mention, the flavinoids (which is what you're tasting and smelling) very likely have medicinal effects of their own.

I know this is true with eating fruits and veggies, but I wonder about smoking them though?

Blueberries don't have much smell, but they do have a lot of flavor! After growing 3 packs of BB I found none of that flavor. More like musky, earthy, kush, hashplant flavor with some sweetness to it. Nothin remotely BB flavor at all? 3 packs!.... not to mention the mutants and runts. It wasn't worth the ticket price for that ride.....

Limey's post reminded me about Misty. There's another pheno that's not hard to find in it that smells and tastes sweet/perfume (?) and is -very- unique. The taste was just awsome, it also had a giggly up high and yeilded heavy. I really dug that one!

Soooo many strains, so little room to work with....( sighhh ) God I wish it were legal! lol... BC

Hard ? in a way. Easy in a way.

I had a NYCD that was the strongest lemony smell in the world. Awesome flavor every hit.

Sour Diesel's mighty fine too.

I love the pineapply-fruity taste and smell of my C99.

Smoking Purple Kush right now, uummmm, uummmm, good.

I liked the thick lingering taste of a Jack Herer/White Rhino cross I had once.

So many others.

I'm with Yukon though. Sweet Tooth is tops for taste. At least that's what I thought till I tried Green Crack.

I'll put Sweet Tooth
tied for 1st place with Green Crack.

The definition of a connoisseur is someone who has many choices. If you're just buying weed by the gram, potency is your main concern, and taste can certainly take a back seat. If you grow 30 female plants of a strain that breeds true for potency, you're going to notice variations in taste and make choices accordingly.

Elite, if you like potency that smokes smooth and sweet, you'd probably like White Widow. I also have a bay area cutting of Jack Herer that is deceptively smooth smoking.

i for one would rather smoke 2 joints of sum medium strength but bomb tasting weed than 1 joint of strong shit that taste like pond weed!!!

I wouldn't waste my time on either of them. Strength is as useless as taste. Find the weed that provides the effect you're looking for. It would be damned hard to make that weed taste bad and if it did, just remove the taste. If it fails to provide the desired affect, it's worthless.

I've never tasted my hammer, drill press or radial arm saw and they all work just fine. If the tool works, taste is meaningless. If the tool doesn't work, taste is just useless.

2 packs of DJ's and one of Dutch Passions. I found the same phenoes in each, and actually found a less picky nute wise, heavy yeilding pheno in the DP. Same high and taste in both though. I even grew the mutants and the clones from them all, jus to be sure.

Sweet Tooth #4 was some of the sweetest bud I've ever grown and smoked, but it lacked the punch with the high that I like. Very uniform plants. Sweet Tooth #3 was purty tasty too, but again not all that potent. I still have some of those beans for a rainy day. I think they would be good for adding flavor and stability in breeding, with the #4 anyway. One of these days I'll get around to it! lol BC

I'm starting to wonder why you even smoke. lol...

Have you ever tried to smoke yer hammer, etc....? lol.. Face it FB, you just don't have any taste! lol! Oh lowrd, you fell into that one! lol

I know what ya mean. That's why every strain I've suggested works very well for the head too. But it is alot of fun razzin ya though. lol BC

Tahoe ogk or Haze
:woohoo:
I am astounded!, 4 pages on tasty draw before someone mentions Haze!, some of the finest tastes around, black pepper, chocolate, strawberries, lime all with a musky spicy finish let alone an electric high, what more could you want?.

I understand you FB, but you could say "Guinness gives me a great buzz but I have to hold my nose closed and swill it down quick because I hate to taste it", or your drill press drills perfect holes but you get continual electric shocks using it. Doing the job isn't all imo.
If I had a choice of smokes, all mediocre in potency I would far prefer a lovely smell and taste.

Well you said two strains so I am going to have to go with some very special Durban Poison that came around my town about 6 years ago. It was phenomenal, but not the stoniest. The taste was a smooth skunky/hashy nag champa type thing going on. So many people that smoked that durban agree with me.

The other would be some Cherry Snow that one of the local clubs had last year. Truly a marvelous strain. Dense bright green nugs that smelled like the funkiest cherry smell that transitioned to taste perfectly. They had a "Berry Bomb" right after the cherry snow that seemed very similar, but was a little different. I believe the Berry Bomb had trainwreck in the genetics, where as the Cherry Snow had snow. The other strain that was used in both had to be the same though.

As far as better bud goes, the Cherry Snow won based purely on the high, flavor, and smell. Now I am getting hungry for some Cherry Snow that I will probably never have again.

Cant forget about the hazes. I am loving Blue Dream(Blueberry X Haze, dont know what haze though). The only problem with hazes is there scraggly appearance and extended flowering times. They are too uneconomical to grow and we can get some very funky stuff that has a lot shorter of a flowering time around here. I wish I can get some hazes that were grown outdoors in the proper climate.
