Hey guys just spotted these small white and yellowish greenish eggs on several of the plants buds and Im almost %100 sure that they are the same kind of caterpillar i had in the years past What should i do I have spinosad should I wait a couple of days for them to hatch? I assume the spinosad wont effect them in the egg? 2 of the plants are 30 days into flower and there pks and smell so sweet only found a couple of eggs on them but Im sure theres lots I missed Is spinosad going to effect flavor this late into flower? My blueberries are only 2 weeks into flower and I found eggs on several of there buds as well Im so pissed I hate these fuckers! these are outdoor of course. Please Help
1. should I spray now or wait?
2. should I leave the pks alone and hope they dont get many worms till harvest or spray em?

thanks

i know for mites using an oil based spray will kill the eggs, it may well work on catapillar eggs too.
your bud is going to be safe, catapillars will not like being stoned!! but your leaves will be at risk from them.

someone else with more knowledge of what works on catapillar eggs should reply. but untill then, google if neem or rapeseed oil will work on them.

Actually my buds are at risk these worms burrow into the buds and leave a path of destruction behind along with there poo the thc doesnt seem to effect them

How many of them are there? Eggs that is. On how many plants?

I would be picking them all off first of all and destroying them. Can you take some pictures of the eggs?

It would be to hard to find them all there very small and blend in wit the buds also the moths lay the eggs under leaves and in the bud so they stick in the white hairs

Spinosad is probably the better choice over the Bacillus thuringiensis. The Bt breaks down in sunlight very quickly so if you choose to use it apply in the evening. Spray spinosad now, and keep a sharp eye out over the next week for signs of "frass" aka worm shit. The worms need to be treated before they get into the buds.

This leaved me little confused to say at least.. How does the oil based spray destroy mite eggs?? I would say example: Neem oil works for all other stages of mites than eggs, which havent hatched yet IMHE!! For mite eggs, ppl should apply some amino acid´s into their spray, which will take care of them;)

Sorry, I just dont get any other oil based sprays in my mind at mo.. Also.. Neemoil breaks quick at light, so you should apply it just before lights go off, or at sunset outdoors, which is a big nono in "budmode" IMHO without proper ventilation/airflow + neemoil leaves nasty layer & taste in dem buds if applied late in flowering and not wash out properly :2cents:

Cuddy, dont know anything about caterpillars, or their eggs, but you could try if amino acid spray does destroy Caterpillar eggs too;) They are easily available and easy to apply into spray + they dont leave any nasty layers on the bud surface!! One thing to keep in mind is that if you try it, then be sure the spray dont get into the soil, where it can affect PH, depending of the used amino acid..........

An oil spray will smother eggs. Here's a label from an ultra fine oil spray. It's paraffin oil with an emulsifier. I just sprayed some last night before lights off to knock down my brood of whiteflies.

They are left behind by Parent Moth's or Butterflys.

They find marijuana plants in the dark night flawlessly. One of the main reasons I switched from an Outdoor Grower to indoors, goddamn caterpillars.
